Title: Jounin Exams 4

...

Shun POV

I didn't know how long had passed since we began solving this puzzle, or rather, since Kimizu began solving this puzzle. Kitsume was just by herself with arms crossed as she knew she could add nothing to this part of the exams.

I don't know whether it was because it was an illusion scape that made me unable to tell the time, I couldn't even focus on counting the seconds as it passed.

This was weird considering my super computer level brain. Oh well.

Sitting down in a meditative Position, I closed my eyes and dived into my mindscape. In here, I was God, whatever bullshit going on outside had zero to no effect in here.

"...un. Shun!"

The hell!? I thought as I opened my eyes, only to see a frowning Kimizu staring at me in annoyance.

"What are you doing? I'm done." She said causing me to look at the direction the musical notes would come together to give us the next answer and saw a row of words floating up there.

"Hmm, I see." I said and stood up and then asked. "How were you able to enter my head?" I asked her curiously. My mind was a literal fortress and if I didn't allow it, no being in this planet could possibly intrude.

Not even the old man's lingering soul could without my permission.

"Oh that?" She said offhandedly. "Everyone's brain runs at certain frequency, although yours is hard to actually understand, interuppting the waves and adding mine for a second isn't all that hard."

I looked at her wide-eyed, not that she knew, but my silence made her fidget a little. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked.

"Hm? Far from that. You did something amazing. I was just surprised is all." I snapped out of my thoughts and praised genuinely.

This was one if the reasons I appreciated normal humans in this world. Unlike humans with Kekkai Genkai who you already know what to expect, normal humans are just... unpredictable.

Who would've thought little Kimizu could actually use one of the Yamanaka clan unique ability? If she could master this properly, she'd be a walking body of data.

The interesting part of it all is that she doesn't need to train her soul, she just has to train that ability of sensing vibrations, the minute vibrations anyone would normally ignore.

She could be like Quake from Marvel, or even Whitebeard from One piece.

Sound and Vibrations... Damn, she had a lot more potential than I imagined. I could even teach her my Vibration fist technique.

But that's if she's determined to actually get that Strong.

"Alright. Let's go."

...

When we came to, we were still sitting the same way we were when we first touched the Tablet.

Looking around, I noticed that we were the first ones that passed the test. By the time on the clock, five hours had passed since we entered the Illusion.

"Damn..." I muttered.

"Is something wrong, Shun?" Kitsume asked and I shook my head. "Nothing. I just didn't expect we'd take this long." I said and pointed to the time.

She looked at it but didn't seem to get it and looked back at me. "But we're the first ones to finish.."

"Yes. We are." I said to end the case. "Well, Kimizu-chan."

"Hmm?"

"Can you play us a song or two to keep us busy while we wait?"

"Eh? But I'm tired." She whined but didn't refuse. Guess my handsomeness really does work in times like this.

Putting on a smile, I said. "It's times like this that you should challenge your limits. Who knows, maybe you'd get an inspiration to increase your fighting prowess."

"You're lying to her again aren't you?" Kitsume asked from beside me, and Kimizu, having the super hearing that she does also looked at me for an answer.

"How can that be? Have I ever lied to you..." I wanted to say 'in your life?' but seeing the look in their eyes..."when it comes to your abilities?"

They both squinted their eyes at me as a form of pressure, which I couldn't help but scoff at internally.

"Alright." Kimizu said and brought out her violin and began playing.

...

General POV.

"Hmm. Five hours. Impressive." The lazy looking proctor said softly as he raised his eyes from his book. "As expected- Hm?" He paused before he could finish. "Who amongst them completed the test?" He asked no one in particular as he squinted his eyes to the screen.

"It's the girl playing the instrument." Chisaki, the Jounin from Iwagakure answered. "She did?" He couldn't help but ask in surprise. "Interesting."

"Is there anything special about that? From the looks of it, she has a sound based Kekkai Genkai. If I didn't know better, I would've thought you purposely choose that for her." She snorted.

The proctor looked at her indifferently for a second before looking away, too tired to even comment on what she said.

This pissed her off, considering her hot headed personality but before she could flare, Kakashi spoke.

"I don't think that's the case."

"Hmm? What makes you say that, Kakashi-dono?" Pakura asked. "From what I saw, I can't help but think the same as her...as much as it pains me to admit."

"What did you say!?" The Iwa Jounin shouted but no one paid her any attention as the others looked at Kakashi.

"You see that white haired boy?" He said and pointed at the screen.

"Hm? The one sleeping in the illusion?" Raiko, the Kumo Jounin asked.

"Yeah, him. Believe it or not. If he had decided to pass this test earlier, he would've done so." Kakashi simply said.

"How can you say that? I get your Village and theirs are in some form of alliance, but isn't praising their Genius a little bit too low?" Chisaki sneered at him.

"That's why I said believe it or not. You'd see what I'm talking about as the exams proceed." Kakashi said and closed his one exposed eye.

The three other Jounins looked between Kakashi and the proctor before looking at the screen.

One had to know that Kakashi was famous for being a generational genius. But for said Genius to praise another genius...one from another village nonetheless... They had to take some consideration before they passed any form of judgment.

They were all here with their own agendas after all. Should someone who could threaten their village appear from the other villages, they had to take matters into their hands.

Whether to assassinate or simply report back... That was their other assignment here, other than escorting their Chunin.

...

Shun POV.

I was enjoying the serenity that came with Kimizu soft and slow musical piece. Ever since finding out the uniqueness of Kimizu's music, I've made it something to listen to whenever I had nothing doing.

It was just that soothing. Of course, she could also use it to kill me if she so wished, after all, by listening and immersing myself into her music, I'm basically allowing her inside my head.

However, I knew she'd never do anything like that and I was that confident that even if she did, she'd never go far before I retaliate.

"What the hell..."

Hmm? That voice...

I opened my eyes to see that another group had awoken from the illusion. As for the owner of that voice. "Aiya, Takeshi-senpai. Cursing is no good, you know." I said in a cute strict voice that caused everyone to look at me weirdly.

"That...what the hell! How could you finish before us?!" Takeshi who wasn't used to Shun's kink snapped out earlier and asked loudly.

"Sigh." I sighed aloud. "Itachi, tell him."

Itachi chuckled. "He's a genius."

"The hell?" Takeshi didn't know what to do with that answer and just sat there confused.

"But really. How did you finish so quickly? Was your test that easy?" Yugao couldn't help but ask. She was still doubtful and all which I didn't mind.

"Nope... Is what I'd like to say, but I wasn't the one that cleared the test. It was Kimizu-chan here."

"She did? What was the test all about then? Ours was to navigate through this magical maze...a Mirage of sorts. Thankfully, we had Itachi-kun with us." Yugao said as she smiled gratefully at Itachi.

"Well, ours was based off of sounds. It's complicated. Kimizu tell them." I said and they all looked at Kimizu for an explanation.

Kimizu explained to them everything in detail. How the room worked, how the sounds worked, how they were meant to confuse the senses of anyone, how it would have hurt anyone who stayed in there for long, and finally how it was easy for her due to her unique ability.

"Wow. So that's your Kekkai Genkai?" The Medic nin whom I still don't know her name asked.

Kimizu shook her head. "It isn't a Kekkai Genkai. It's actually a sickness. Thankfully, Shun was able to help me control it."

"I see..."

"However, I have one question." Takeshi who had been silent suddenly spoke. We all looked at him and he asked. "How does this relate to Shun being a genius."

I scoffed at that. "Did t you hear what she said? I helped her learn of to turn sickness to gift. I'm that much of a genius."

General POV.

At that moment, whether it was due to Shun's words of turning sickness into a gift, or His charisma while saying it, or his tone of unquestionable confident...

Everyone literally had the urge to punch him in the face.
