Chapter 3: Chapter 3 - He's Better Than me, Right?
August 1st 1986:
I've been confused all night long. Well, actually I'm not sure if I can describe it as confusion. At first I was wondering how they could forget me. When exactly they forgot me. What was wrong with me?
Then I realized that it was not necessarily that I wasn't good enough. It was more like I wasn't in the spotlight enough. Charles, from the moment he saved the wizarding world, became my "superior". The man who I would always be compared to.
Actually, today I saw Charles getting mad at an older woman and hitting her. It startled me a bit. The woman was older then Charles so he should have some sort of respect right? He at least shouldn't hit her.
But then again he's the boy who lives so I'm sure...I'm sure...you know what never mind. Yeah, never mind. Let's just- I'll just. I'll just stop trying to compare with him I suppose. Yeah, I just won't try to get loved anymore. I don't deserve it anyways. There's no point.
There's plenty of reasons James and Lily could have forgotten me. Though, I suppose I shouldn't hate them for what they did. Yeah, they were just under a lot of pressure and all for Charles's birthday.
Yeah maybe my birthday is even the day before his and not the same day. Yeah, that would make sense. Yeah. But...maybe I should try...doing things my own way. Though potters are usually Gryffindor there haven't been those few Hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws, and...Slytherins.
Actually, why does my family hate Slytherins that much? In my opinion they are actually the most balanced of houses. Slytherins are cunning and smart, they can be brave when it is necessary to achieve their goals, they can be loyal and kind, though they often hide it, and they are even ambitious to top it all off.
So, why does my family hate them? Could they be...wrong?
