Chapter 2: Chapter 2:Is it Really Over??
Ever since their marriage five years ago, Mrs Martha's life has been a living hell.
Due to the fact she wasn't able to get pregnant within the first year, Mr Maxwell decided to get married again.
Mrs Chloe his second wife was divorced three years ago because she gave birth to a girl. So Mrs Martha couldn't help but think of her faith after leaving the hospital.
When Mr Maxwell arrived home, he met his third wife, Mrs Kira in the living room."Hubby... you are back.."she greeted him happily. She was very happy when she discovered his mood as she could already guess Mrs Martha's predicament.
Mr Maxwell was obviously in a bad mood so he didn't even bat an eyelid at her as he directly rushed upstairs. He couldn't help but think of the possibility of his third wife also producing a girl.
"Finally that b*tch will be thrown out of this house.."Mrs Kira smirked "at least no one can compete with me after I produce the heir to the Stars Corporation and everything would be mine. She thought with a devilish smile.
Few days later, Mrs Martha was discharged from the hospital. She sorrowfully took her daughter back to the Star Mansion. At arrival, the security men who were usually friendly to her turned cold upon seeing her.
She had already prepared for such attitude but still felt bad when treated this way.
She convinced herself to be strong for her daughter and went into her 'home'. Mr Maxwell just finished breakfast and was about heading for Star Corporation when he saw her entering the mansion.
"HOW DARE YOU" he screamed out. "I thought you already know what happens when you disobey me " he said in a slightly threatening tone.
"Dear please... dont do... do this to me... I'm still your wife..."Mrs Martha said as she hugged her daughter tightly.
"Which wife huh... I don't have a useless wife who can't give me an heir..."."JAKE" he said to the young man beside him." Go get the divorce papers.. let's see how you want to claim being my wife "
"Yes President.. I'll go right now the assistant called Jake said as he hurried off. "No.. no.. please dont do this to me... please I can't leave without you... please... Mrs Martha finally collapsed in tears.
"You know I've always loved you... I was even disowned by my family for your sake...'sob, sob'... you can't do this to me.."Mrs Martha Kept on pleading.
"Thats one more reason for me to divorce you..... how could you give up on a multimillion company just for LOVE.... how hiliarious.."Mr Maxwell said as he laughed at her in ridicule.
"But I loved you.."Mrs Martha retaliated in a choked voice.
"Love??... what f*cking love... I only got married to get my family's inheritance, and of course doesn't an old man like me have needs.."Mr Maxwell sneered as he laughed at her foolishness.
"I.. I.. can't believe this..."Mrs Martha said as she looked at the man she has given her entire life to in complete disbelieve.
"YOU B*STARD... my life... my career.... even my family... everything..."she completed in a soft voice like she has just aged a decade.
At this time, Jake who had gone to the study to fetch the divorce papers just arrived. Mr Maxwell signed it before tossing it to Mrs Martha.
"C'mon... sign it... let's end this joke of a marriage so I can finally be free ". Even though Mrs Martha knew she has been used, she couldn't help but be sad when thinking of her life from here onwards.
After all, she was already disowned by her family so where was she to go. Regardless of everything, at least she won't have to see him or live in this hell, so she gathered herself and signed the papers.
"MR MIKE MAXWELL.... I CURSE YOU... FROM TODAY ONWARDS I AND MY DAUGHTER WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU" she screamed "YOU WATCH AND SEE HOW THIS DAUGHTER YOU FORSAKED WILL TRAMPLE ON YOU" After dropping that, she stormed out ot the mansion.
