"I don't see the need for that, you did leave without a farewell," Jael responded without looking at her even though Lady Jevera's gaze on him never wavered.

"My father wanted me home," she muttered and picked up her cutlery, holding one in each hand. Mauve couldn't comprehend how she did this without ever looking down.

"How is he?" Jael asked, he casually glanced at get but his attention quickly shifted.

"Faring. He requests your presence." Her brows dipped as she spoke and an unreadable expression appeared.

"I'd rather not discuss such matters over a meal." He said with a nonchalant tone to his voice.

Lady Jevera scoffed, "I am here to bring you to him."

"I do not need an escort."

"True but otherwise my father would have to wait forever." 

She prodded, leaning forward a bit and Mauve found her gaze straying to the cleavage on display. She quickly looked at Jael to check if he was staring but Jael had his gaze glued to his food.
