Chapter 67: Chapter 62: Things Get Weird

Flashback starts

"Ding dong"

The sound of a bell resounded throughout the house, causing Phil, who had fallen asleep while watching the tv, to wake up.

Phil - "Who is it? Maybe it's Claire, but why would she ring the bell? When she has her key."

Phil stretched his hands while slowly getting up from the couch and walking towards the door.

However, the person standing outside the Dunphy house felt it was taking too long, so they decided to ring the bell again.

Phil - "I am coming. Give me a moment."

Upon opening the main door, the sight that Phil saw woke the sleepy Phil completely.

It was a Colombian beauty, her name was Gloria, she was dressed in a dark blue dress and looked ravishing.

Phil - "Gloria, what are you doing here."

Gloria - "Just here to give this, Phil."

Gloria then handed over what looked like an orange Tupperware box.

Phil - "What is this?"

Gloria - "It is a box. What else could it be?"

Phil - "I mean, why are you giving this to me?"

Gloria - "Ah, Claire left it at my home."

Phil - "Oh, okay."

Gloria - "Are you going to keep me standing here?"

Phil - "No, no, please come in."

Gloria walked inside and saw that the kitchen was empty.

Gloria - "Is Claire not home?"

Phil - "No, she has gone out."

Gloria - "I guess I should get going as she is not there, so I have no one to talk to."

Phil - "Why you can always talk to me."

Gloria - "It is not the same."

Phil - "Well, try it, and you will find out."

Gloria - "Okay."

Gloria and Phil then sat on the sofa and started a conversation. Well, technically, it wasn't a conversation. Gloria talked while Phil stared at her and commented from time to time.

Gloria then suddenly said, "Phil, I am thirsty."

Gloria got closer to Phil and whispered, "Phil, water alone won't quench my thirst."

Phil was immediately taken back, "What?"

Gloria - "I want something more."

Phil - "I knew this day would come. You are stunning, Gloria, but I can't betray Claire like this."

Gloria grabbed Phil's hand, kept it on her chest, and said, "Are you sure? You don't want to play with them?"

Phil couldn't take this temptation and ended up pressing Gloria's chest slightly.

Gloria - "I knew it."

Phil, who was looking at his hand on Gloria's chest, looked up and saw Gloria tear open her face and saw a burned-up bloody Claire face staring at him angrily.

This horror caused Phil to jolt up into a seating position and look around his surroundings, only to realize that he had been sleeping on the couch the whole time.

Phil - "Wow, that was a terrible dream. Also, Claire looked scarier than one of those sleep paralysis demons I used to face back in college."

The doorbell then suddenly started ringing, causing Phil to feel Deja vu.

Phil - "No, what's going on? Is this also a dream?"

Phil then pinched himself and felt pain.

Phil - "I guess it is some sort of coincidence."

The doorbell rang once again.

Phil - "I am coming. Give me a sec."

Phil then headed for the front door and opened it to find Gloria again in the same exact outfit holding an orange Tupperware box in her hand.

This scared Phil out of his mind to the point that he couldn't think straight and made some rather hasty and questionable decisions.

Phil said in his mind, "You won't get me again, demon."

Phil then replayed the exact conversation he had in his dream until he allowed Gloria to enter the house again.

Except for this time, he smashed the door right into Gloria's face.

However, something Phil didn't anticipate happened. Gloria did not turn into Claire. Instead, she fell to the ground and fainted.

Phil - "Oh shit, it looks like I wasn't dreaming."

Phil quickly got outside, hugged the injured Gloria on the ground, and then tried to lift her up to carry her inside.

Unfortunately, for some reason, she was far too heavy for Phil to carry her in. Forcing Phil to resort to the only other way possible, dragging Gloria across the floor like a dead corpse.

As Phil started dragging Gloria toward the door, one of Ryan's neighbors came out of the house heading somewhere.

Phil and this man ended up making eye contact, leaving the man stunned at what he saw.

Phil immediately let go of Gloria, walked towards the neighbor across the street, and said, "Oh, this is just a little misunderstanding. She fainted from the heat, so I am dragging her in."

The man started walking back towards his house, trying to unlock his front door.

Seeing Phil still walk towards him, the man replied, "Look, you do, you man. I don't want any trouble."

Phil - "Look, I am not doing anything wrong that is my mother-in-law."

Phil quickly got back to Gloria and tried to lift her up from the ground and carry her inside.

Unfortunately, for some reason, she was far too heavy for Phil to carry her in. Forcing Phil to resort to the only other way possible, dragging Gloria across the floor like a dead corpse.

As Phil started dragging Gloria toward the door, one of Ryan's neighbor's kids came out of the house heading somewhere.

Phil and this young man made eye contact, leaving the young man stunned at what he saw.

Phil immediately let go of Gloria, walked towards the neighbor across the street, and said, "Oh, this is just a little misunderstanding. She fainted from the heat, so I am dragging her in."

The young man started walking back towards his house, trying to unlock his front door.

Seeing Phil still walk towards him, the man replied, "Look, you do, you man. I don't want any trouble."

Phil - "Look, I am not doing anything wrong that is my mother-in-law."

The young man finally managed to open the door and smashed it shut right before Phil could get closer.

A female voice sounded from inside the neighbor's house, "What happened? Why are you back?"

The young man replied, "I just saw this creep dragging in a woman's body and dipped before he could stab me."

The woman replied, "Are you off your meds again, Mathew?"

Mathew replied, "No, I swear the man is still standing outside. You can go check."

The woman replied, "Enough, Mattew. You are grounded. Go to your room."

Phil - "Damn, I got lucky. Otherwise, my neighbor would know, then Claire would, which would just cause more problems."

Phil then headed back and dragged Gloria toward the living room.

Phil - "Oof (deep breath), now to fetch some water to wake her up."

Phil then headed to the kitchen and filled a glass of water to splash on Gloria's face to wake her up.

Phil then came to where Gloria lay on the living room floor and sat down, taking a handful of water into his left hand and started sprinkling it on Gloria's face.

Phil - "Wake up, Gloria, wake up."

Gloria finally woke up and asked, "What happened?"

Phil - "Ah, you were talking to me, and then you suddenly fell down. I think it was a heat stroke."

Gloria - "No wonder my head hurts."

Phil - "Yes, that's why."

Haley suddenly appeared on the stairs and asked, "Dad, I heard a loud sound. What happened."

Phil - "Gloria fell down due to heatstroke while walking towards the door, so it was probably the sound of Gloria smashing her head into the door."

Haley - "Oh my, is she okay?"

Phil - "No, she isn't. Go get the first aid kit. I see some bleeding at the top of her forehead."
