Chapter 3: Rikka Ironblood
Now that I think of it, when did it start? Human, maybe it's on the first day of high school.
It was a morning filled with hope and nervousness. Even though I know that people would definitely hate me. To get admitted, we need to pass the exam. MT test is one of them. Only an awakened being can get admitted to this school. But I wasn't an awakened being. I was simply the son of a poor noble. I don't know how, but somehow I was able to get admitted. Maybe my mother asked the Blackforest family to help me.
When I entered the school, I noticed something. Everyone was with their parents. But on the other hand, I wasn't. I somehow felt a little bad at that moment. People were smiling happily with their precious family. I thought it is something that only exists in the story. But I was wrong. Everyone here was happy with their family. For me, family is a dream. A place where I can happily smile with everyone I love.
After finishing my introduction, I realized something. That is because everyone already has a bad opinion about me. They started saying something like "he used my family power to get there. He is a cheater."
Nobody talked to me. I was alone. Like I used to be. Nothing changed. I left the classroom. While searching for a place to rest, I ended up on the rooftop. I don't know why, but the rooftop was open that day.
Nobody was there. So, I lied down on the floor. The sky was normal that day. Nothing special about it.
"Hey, what are you doing? Counting stars? But it is daytime though."(???)
I heard a beautiful girl's voice. I tried to look at her. It was Yukino Stone. I heard that she is a genius girl. She is the most beautiful in the class and also the most talented. I heard she has awakened an Elemental type MT. If I am not wrong, she is awakened wind element.
"It seems like you've been going through a lot. I can understand that."(Yukino)
"....."
"Well, it's good that you are not attempting suicide. I would like to see you smile" (Yukino)

I was surprised. No one ever told me that.

It was the first time for me. That's why I fell for her.

While I was thinking, lunch time was over. But I don't feel like going back to class.
By the way, I do remember the teacher saying an adventurer would come. I think I should attend the class. It's not everyday you have got to see a high-ranking adventurer. I am sure I will be able to learn more about dungeons and adventurers.
I went to the hall room. A lot of students had already gathered there.
Sensei and a person entered the hall room.
She looks like a barbarian girl. She was even wearing a barbaric cloth. She has two large breasts. I have to say that I was able to see a lot of things that I shouldn't. Looks like boys are getting excited. Limon was also excited. Seeing him getting excited, Yukino pouted.
The barbarian adventurer has a club with her. She was holding it like it was too easy to use.
"I should introduce myself. I am Rikka Ironblood. I am from the proud Ironblood family. I am a B-rank adventurer. I will join you guys in today's practical class. Before that, I think we should talk about some basics. I know most of you guys already know about it. But can anyone tell me about how many mana types(MT) are out there?"(Rikka)
So, she is a B-Rank adventurer. Adventurer ranks go from F-Rank to S-Rank. There are also SS and SSS ranks too. But no one has been able to achieve that within the past centuries. In that case, a B-Rank is considered as a high-rank.
She is awesome. She was able to climb up to B-Rank.
"There are 9 basic Mana types", replied Yukino.
"I guess you're not wrong. Well, let me explain from the beginning."(Rikka)
"500 years ago people encountered a new disaster. Yeah, it's that dungeon appearance. It suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Monsters started coming out of it. People weren't ready to fight such an enemy. They can use magic and people in this world weren't able to use magic back then. A lot of people died. But God never abandoned his subjects. He gave everyone the power to use magic. But there is a small difference between the magic that monsters use and humans use. They are mana. So, there are two basic mana. One is called evil mana and the other is called Holy mana."(Rikka)
So, that's how it is. No, I know that story too.
"We divided holy mana into 9 basic types. They are officially called mana attributes. But people call them MT, which means 'Mana Types'. Every year, temples perform a ritual which awakens a person's MT at the age of 16. 50℅ of the whole population can awake MT. In the case of nobles, it's 90℅."(Rikka)
Which means 90℅ of the nobles are awakened people and here I am, who wasn't able to awake a single MT.
"One person basically wakes one MT. But they are exceptional people who are able to get two or three types of attributes."(Rikka)
People are getting two or three types of attributes and here I am not able to get one.
"Can anyone tell me the names of these nine basic mana attributes?Yeah, you red-haired boy."(Rikka)
"They are Elemental, Tech, Martial, Dark, Light, Order, Chaos and Special."(Rikka)
"Yeah, you're right. An Elemental MT awakened person can use elemental attacks. Like a Fire elemental person will be able to use fire attacks.
Tech is, as you can guess, being able to use magical weapons. They can use special types of magical weapons. Martial types users can use Martial attacks. About light and dark users, you can imagine what it is, right?"(Rikka)
"Yes" replied everyone.
"Order and Chaos are a little bit special. They are rare attributes. In Order attributes, a person can control someone or something. Like a summoner. In the case of chaos, users can use some powerful attacks. We don't have much information about it. Special type attributes means those who are exceptional. The type of attacks can't be categorized. I expect everyone understands that."(Rikka)
"Yeah," replied everyone.
"But there is still a single thing which I skipped when I was explaining. It's Stars(★) system."(Rikka)
"The star system?"(A black-haired boy)
"Yeah, a star system. Umm, hey blonde, what was your result in the ritual?" Rikka asked Yukino.
"Me? It was Wind-type(3★) attribute." Yukino replied.
"There were 3★ written in the brackets, right? That decides how powerful you can become."(Rikka)
"Let's give an example. I have a friend who uses dual type attribute. Both of his attributes are 2★. His level is 39.
And I am a Martial type attribute user. My martial type attribute is 3★. I am at level 40. Tell me who is powerful?"(Rikka)
"Your friend, I guess. He is a dual attribute user. So, I guess he could use two types of attacks."(Limon)
"Nope. I am powerful. It's because my martial attacks are all 3★. His attacks are all 2★. My one attack was much more effective than his attack. Boy, you have to be attentive in class. It's not my job to teach you these basics. I know your teacher has given a lecture about this topic already."(Rikka)
"Sorry.", Limon apologised.
"Okay, let's talk about adventurers. An adventurer is a person who hunts monsters in the dungeon. Although, nowadays, we do other things too. Listen, in a dungeon you have only one option: do or die. Don't just try to attack every monster you encounter. You have to understand which opponent you can fight against. Okay, let's stop this chit-chat. Everyone gets ready for practicals. You guys are all awakened people, right?"(Rikka)
"Excuse me, there is one who wasn't able to awaken. He still attended this practical class knowing that he wouldn't be able to participate.(Limon)
"Hahahahaha", Everyone laughed.
"You shut up poophead. Who wasn't able to awaken."(Rikka)
"I-it's me."
I slowly raised my hands.
"You weren't able to awake? Strange. I do felt.... Okay, you can either watch or leave."(Rikka)
"Okay, thank you."
I left the hall room. Well, I don't feel like watching today. Usually, I would like to learn from practical class. Today I somehow don't want to continue.
