Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - Partial Success
Today started the first day of my 6th and final year of the academy.
The first class of the year is Advanced Zanjutsu Sparring. My assigned partner is Minako. We enter the sparring area.
"I will definitely win this time Minako." I say
She looks at me with a board look
We start sparring. I use Shunpo to close in and try to get behind her. She unsheathes her zanpakuto and blocks mine from hitting her back. She backs off and then says "Sunder, Perfumed Shield!" in which her zanpakuto transforms into misericorde.
This long and narrow knife is now pointed at me. I suddenly feel like I'm extremely drunk with my vision spinning and when it passes Minako has the knife at my throat.
The instructor calls the end of the sparring session and congratulates Minako on learning her zanpakuto's shikai command.
The other students all congratulate her but she keeps her cold and aloft personality.
After seeing what an unsealed zanpakuto can do, has ignited my passion to evolve my asauchi into a zanpakuto.
I watched the rest of my fellow students spar and see that Minako is the only one who was able to evolve her asauchi into a zanpakuto.
For the rest of the class I rotated partners and won most of the spars. My experience from the past helps a lot. My style is sneak attacks with high speed fights in these sparring sessions.
There were only a few others that could beat me, mostly because they knew my style and was fast enough to respond.
After the class was over I went over to a tree near the sparring area and sat down and started meditating like what was taught.
Every time I meditate I feel homesick and wish I was back in Konohagakure. I miss Tsunade, I'm upset that I didn't come back to her when she finally accepted me.
Suddenly I'm standing in Konohagakure. Looking down over the whole village from atop the Hokage Monument.
It is early quite and I see no one there. I look down at myself and I'm still wearing the Soul Academy uniform with my asauchi at my waist.
This must be my inner world that the teacher mentioned. I'm glad to see the village even if it is not the real one.
I start exploring the village to find my Zanpakuto spirit. I first start with the Hokage tower and then move towards Tsunade's residents. All along they way I have flash backs of my time in the village.
Training with Hiruzen-sensei, getting punched my Tsunade, walking with Naruto, all the memories coming back making me depressed but also showing who I was and how integral I was to the village even though I never was the Hokage.
This self reflection also showed me my ninja way, that I never give up, and that I'm a self proclaimed Super-pervert with no equal.
Even though I haven't had a chance yet here in the Soul Society. I will definitely find a chance after graduating to gain some new research material. Jiraiya thinks with a goofy look on his face.
Suddenly I'm back underneath the tree and didn't get to meet my zanpakuto spirit. But this is encouraging.
I try again but no matter what I can't access my inner world again. I get up and walk back to my dorm room. While walking I keep thinking about the issue, suddenly I see Minako walking in front of me.
I quick get in front of her and strike a pose. "Minako, will you please help me in entering my inner world."
She looks at me with the same board look and then says "And why should I help you?"
"Because you are the only classmate who has successfully communicated with your zanpakuto spirit and I just entered my inner world after class and I couldn't find my spirit. Now I can't even enter my inner world." I say
"Once you enter your spirit should find your spirit, and you need to be at peace with yourself and not thinking about anything outside of the inner world." Minako states.
I understand what she is say but, "Isn't there some short cut or tips?" I ask her
"No there isn't if there was wouldn't there be a lot more students with there zanpakuto."
Feeling dejected I decide to ask her out to eat. I'm instantly shot down and was told she knew what I was doing and there was no chance of going out together.
After that she shunpo's away.

Sorry for the delay was busy and had a slight writers block. I have been reading the comments and I am planning to incorporate some of the suggestions.
The year in the human world when the story starts is 1851 so currently in this chapter the year is 1856. So not the Titanic, but it is another maritime accident. The accident is the sinking of the steam packet-ship John Rutledge, en route from Liverpool to New York, hits an iceberg and sinks with the loss of 120 passengers and 19 crew; only one survivor (Thomas Nye of New Bedford)
