The ceiling did not change, though Cyril had been looking at it for some time. The wooden beams that supported the roof only grew darker in the light. When his back was tired, Cyril rolled around a bit to relieve his muscle tension. When that was done, he lay back down like a fool.

Judging by the bright sunlight coming in through the window, Cyril thought it would be a long time before nightfall. However, he heard the sound of a door opening and people talking behind it. Perhaps because he was too bored, Cyril could not tell the time correctly.

His brain seemed to be having a breakdown. It felt like he was starting to hallucinate.
