Chapter 2: The Second Beginning
In the a forest in the middle of nowhere, a baby's cries could be heard, and the baby none the wiser was attracting beasts towards himself as a pack of enormous wolves with weird colouration and two horns on their heads ran towards his cries, within seconds, the baby was surrounded as shockingly the wolves began to converse in the human tongue, "Why is the meal so small" said the first wolf, "That human can't even satisfy my new born" said the second and they decided to cast lots on who would get the baby as the wolves let no source of food escape them for they live in a world of survival, and as the winner of the lots proceeded towards his meal.
A terrifying pressure spread out causing the wolves to tremble in fear.
"Sword of Cleaving First Act : Cleaved Unto Earth" rang out a cold voice. All of a sudden, a thin line could be seen on the necks of the wolves seemingly appearing out of nowhere, if one was to close attention, the same line could be seen on the ground.
As the light faded, the heads of the wolves fell onto the ground and light footsteps rang out as an elderly looking couple strode into the gathering, the man sheathing a sword.
"Waaaaaa Waaaaaa Waaaaaa", as the baby was crying the old woman went towards the baby and exclaimed loudly " David, come here at once, who in the nine hells abandons a baby in this kind of place.
David turned back to move closer to his wife who was fuming in anger while she examined the baby.
"Who does this to a baby, who removes a child's dantian", she spat in rage while performing a healing technique on the baby.
"Why don't we take him back to the hideout?" she asked.
"That would be too dangerous, we're still wanted fugitives, we can't drag a baby moreso one this sad into our issues, they might catch up to us at any point, that Burning Light Sect is truly annoying, all this trouble just for a fake wishing rock, we can't just leave him to die, bring him with us"
Shocking words came from David as unexpectedly he had a connection to the Burning Light Sect over a rock!
The couple held hands while holding onto the baby and teleported away with a flash of light. Roughly 200km from the forest was a patch of bare land and with a flash of light, the couple appeared there and David made a hand symbol with his right hand and said "O that which is hidden, come forth"
As he said those words, a veil of sorts appeared above them and a magnificent residence came into view.
As the couple rushed into the building, David spoke to his wife saying "Get out your equipment, I'll power up the Mekra condenser, we have to save him quickly".
They split up after this with David entering a room whose door was taped with protective talismans while his wife entered a room that had healing talismans.
As she entered the room and placed the baby on an observation table, she called out in a loud voice, "I'm ready now".
In the other room, David performed series of hand symbols and said "Ignite". At these words, his hands lit up with a blue flame and he started punching a ore of highly condensed Mekra.
With every punch, the ore released a stream of Mekra which was transported to the room his wife was in.
As she sensed the Mekra inflow coming in, she performed a hand seal on the baby's chest.
The Mekra suddenly flowed towards the baby's chest.At that very moment, if one was to look inside the baby's chest, an abnormal phenomenon would be seen as the Mekra flowing into his body, was forming a datian made of Mekra (most datians are solid in nature).
As the tenth hour neared, the couple nearly collapsed of exhaustion, but as it clocked exactly ten hours since they started restoring the babies life, the datian finished forming just as the ore the Mekra was extracted from ran out of Mekra.
As the ore crumbled, David ran out of the room into the other room where his wife was, he carried his wife and the baby to a room with a big bed and beside the bed was an aged cot. He laid the baby who had fallen asleep into the cot gently.
"He doesn't have a name yet" said his wife. "Let me think for a while to give him a good name" said David.
"I've got a good one now" he said a few minutes later, he advanced towards the baby in a menacing manner with a serious expression on his face as he said
"Like a carp leaping over the Dragon's Gate to become a real Dragon, so shall you advance in life and with that, your first name shall be Ryu and your second name shall be mine own surname which is Smith. Welcome to this crappy world, Ryu Smith".
At this, his wife applauded him while saying "Truly worthy of an old man with 8th grader syndrome" at which David blushed hard. He laid on the bed after a while and said "We must teach him our best martial arts so that he'll have a good chance at life so at least of we die, we'll die happy that we've done a bit of good in our lives"
His wife held his hand hard and said "Sleep now, we must stay strong to help him grow". After this exchange, they drifted off in sleep.
As they slept, a rock in a sealed bottle next to the cot started vibrating and it levitated and struck the bottle seemingly attempting to break it, after repeated failures, it stopped and stayed as it was.
As time went by the baby grew to become a fine teenager while being taught in martial arts and cultivation techniques by the couple. Alas, disaster never waits long to strike.
