Chapter 32: Spellbound
He told her to run away from the situation, so she ran away even if she was unwilling. She objectively understood that it was the right decision, but she hated the situation even more because it separated her from 'him'.
The girl first met the boy in that ridiculous test, where the brat who she owed money to was starting to get a bit creepy. So she was thankful to the guy for saving her from that situation entirely. But the part where he was a FUG member did put a damper on her feelings.
After all, how can she a scion of a Great Family associate herself with a guy who represents the so-called darkness of the Tower. That was just an eloquent way of saying that he was just a lawless thug who wasn't worth much in the grand scheme of things.
Afterwards, when he just completely dominated her and her flames with his Reverse Flow Control, she awakened something new inside her. It was an insatiable curiosity towards the boy who seemingly came from nowhere but controlled flames better than her, a member of the Great Yeon Family. Whether that was a good thing or not, was something that she couldn't fathom.
And then, when they completed the Floor Advancement Test. In order to not get separated from him, she requested him to become her teacher which he thankfully accepted.
As she later came to know, he had a beautiful one-eyed Red Haired Guide named Hwaryun as his only teammate which raised some questions in her head that she just ignored.
That Guide also bunny eared beastkin girl with her who was a Light Bearer. He accepted her in the team with ease when that Guide told him about the benefits of having a dedicated Light Bearer.
Her name was Xia Xia. And she became surprisingly close with him by playing those games on her Lighthouse with him.
After some days passed by, she was contacted by a member of her Family who she went to meet after telling the boy. He didn't even try to stop her, saying that he trusted that she wouldn't betray him. And that trust for some curious reason made her delighted.
It felt like she was catching upto that detestable redhead who seemingly had his complete trust.
When she met the liasion of the Family, they asked her how she has been and also of the new rising Slayer Candidate who is terrifying enough to challenge Rankers. When that liasion told her to be wary of such a thug by calling him names, she had to control herself to not be enraged and burn them to a crisp. And she just replied that they shouldn't just believe the rumors that FUG spreads for its own notoriety. She left that meeting in a bad mood.
But that bad mood didn't last long, since when she came back he was waiting for her. After that they had a training session in which he taught her about his experiences of Flame Control and also comforted me later on after she told him what happened at the meeting.
He also told her that she was being an idiot for telling him about this but also that he was happy that she trusted him enough to share it with him. And when she saw his smile, she fell even deeper in the abyss. Of course, she had no conscious idea of this.
Time passed and they came to the Floor Advancement Test. When the team first divided into two and she was with the boy, she was so overjoyed that she did some dumb stuff that made her embarrassed.
But now, she hated herself for being so useless. That other guy looked like a very strong Ranker, at least stronger than any Ranker she had met in her Family. She doubted that guy was stronger than the Family's big hitters though.
After a few seconds of her running away, she got contacted on her Pocket by that Red Witch.
<<"Come to the coordinates NG-365 as quickly as you can. I am sure this will help Lord Viole in his current situation.">>
"Fine" was her reply and she started reinforcing her body with Flame Shinsu the way, Viole taught her to do. And she burst off into the direction of those coordinates in an unbelievably fast manner, faster than she had ever been. Perhaps it was the self hatred or maybe something else, but she was controlling her Flames in a manner that she hadn't achieved before. She didn't notice that however, her whole focus was on getting to that place as quickly as possible.
After a couple of minutes of travel, she reached the place and saw the Red Witch and the gold digging bunny girl chasing after a small pig like animal, which on closer look had a flower on the back.
Assessing the situation in a very quick manner she just blocked the path of the weird looking animal with her Flames, which led to its easy capture by the bunny girl through her Lighthouse.
"Man, that was exhausting," said the bunny girl.
"Thank you for your timely help, Miss Yeon. I am sure that Lord Viole will be pleased."
Miss Yeon who was thanked by the Red Witch remained silent in response and started to relax.
"Anyway, this is no time to relax. We have to reunite with Lord Viole as quickly as possible. So let's go."
She was worried about him as well so she didn't retort to her, and just nodded in agreement with her even if she found her detestable.
So all of them ran towards where the Red Witch guided them. When they were close to the place, the Zigena flipped. They also looked towards what looked like their team leader stab himself with his sword, and this resulted in him being covered in some kind of black smoke. He was in hearing distance for them, so they were not very far.
She did initially panic when she saw him stab himself, but when he seemed to fine. She silently sighed in relief.
On closer look, there was also a man floating in air above them. He
"Let's get the party started, babies."
"Sorry to rain on your parade, but I already won Mazino."
"Eh?"
The man floating in the air seemed a bit amazed and confused at this. But she herself shivered for a completely different reason.
'Wait what?! Mazino? Is this Urek Mazino that creepy guy, who stalks girls throughout the Tower! Oh no!'
The bunny girl with her was frozen on the spot as well when she heard this, but the Red Witch seemed to be excited for some reason.
"What? How did you win? I don't see the Flower with you."
The man floating in the air who is suspected to be Urek "stalker" Mazino asked with a confused expression on his face.
"Well, my team here has the Flower of Zigena, so I win. Go on Xia Xia show it to him, I am sure you have it in your Lighthouse."
Their team leader Jue Viole Grace asserted to the man and then asked bunny girl to show the man the weird animal with the flower on it.
The bunny followed his instructions in a robotic manner. While muttering something like, "I don't get paid enough!"
The man just watches in amusement as he sees the bunny girl take the weird animal out. As soon as he sees this, he laughs out loud for a few moments and then stops.
"Haha, so that's what you meant kid."
He looks at her teacher Viole with an amused expression and then says, "The game was between us, so even if your team has got it. It doesn't mean you win. Instead now you have made your team the new target."
The man shakes his head and then flexes his arms. While this was happening she saw her teacher's expression change rapidly as if his expressions were on fast forward.
The last expression she saw was that of determination, before there was a sudden explosion ten meters beside them. When the smoke cleared from the explosion.
Every one was stunned by the scene they saw in front of them.
"Huh?"
It was her teacher stopping the man's punch with just his palm effortlessly. Even the two fighters seemed stunned by what happened.
Needless to say, everyone who saw this was spellbound by what was happening.

KenTheSlayer Sorry for not posting chapters for a long time. But I will try to post as much as I can now, no promises though.
I kinda also delayed posting chapters because of how amazing the current arc has been so far in Tower of God. So I kinda wanted to include it in this fic too. I am obviously not talking about the events but rather the backstory of the Family Leaders that we are getting now.
Anyway, here's to hoping that I post a chapter tomorrow as well. Also this fic will now change massively from what I was initially planning to do with it too. I already have deleted around 5 drafts by now. I also changed the way this fight will end up from what I initially planned for it more than a year ago.
