Chapter 51: Chapter 42: The Skeleton Key's power & "Full" Potential "Unlocked"

"You there, stop where you are!"

'For some reason I feel like this is giving me some intense deja vu' I thought as I was confronted by a townsguard in Bonemold Armour.

"How did you appear here?! Answer!" The guard threatened as he pointed a Spear at me.

"I apologise, it was a new means of travel I have recently created via the use of a magic spell. I apologise for the sudden appearance. I can speak to the Head Commander if necessary."

"No need, you're already speaking with him. The name's Modyn Veleth, I'm Captain of the Redoran Guard stationed here at Raven Rock." He said as he removed his helmet and lowered his spear.

"Uhh, well this is awkward..." I scratched my head as I nervously said.

"Indeed. You seem young...fine, I believe you this time. But don't go doing it again in the middle of the street, I don't know if that spell of yours could have gone wrong and endangered the lives of the people of Raven Rock."

"You're letting me go just like that?"

"Yes. If you were an adult I would be suspicious of you. Well, that's only one reason. The other is just from experience and my own judgement and intuition. You aren't lying...entirely that is."

"Uhh"

"Forget it kid. Also, where did you come from?"

"I cane from Riften, one of the Nine Holds of Skyrim.

"That's quite the distance you travelled in a single spell!"

"Well...I do want to join the College of Winterhold"

"That right there is a lie. *sigh* Get going before I change my mind and take you to the Counciler."

I didn't waste any time nor press my luck and ran off without hesitation directly to the Inn.

Entering the Inn I sat a table so I could relax and wait for table service.

'It fucking worked! I unlocked fast travel! Hahaha!'

Acquiring the Skeleton Key is my greatest achievement!

Although I will have to give the Skeleton Key back to Nocturnal at some point, or else I would risk making an enemy of her. I only need the Skeleton Key for a while, not forever.

Besides, once I master the Mysticism school of magic I will be able to teleport instantly to anywhere I want even without the Skeleton Key.

As for the Skeleton Key in question, as long as I have it in my possession, I have my full potential unlocked. Unfortunately, my full potential right now is limited to my body and age, but once I grow up and reach my peak, that potential will be tremendous.

Looking around, I saw no-one nearby, just in case I covered my head with a hood and casted a illusionary barrier around me just for a few moments.

I discreetly took out the Skeleton Key and placed it on my chest before I plunged it into my body.

It phased through the flesh and into me, reaching even my soul.

Turning the key I "unlocked" my ability to reach my potential, now even if I don't have the Key, I will still be at my full potential that is limited to my current self.

I did this a few more times, ensuring no loop holes remained.

I "Unlocked" the following:

1. Reach my Full Potential at all times for my current self

2. Learning Potential

3. Mental Capabilities (Photographic Memory, etc.)

4. Ability to further expand my Magicka reserves beyond my limit (if I did/do have one)

5. "Lock" my ability to reach my limit

6. "Unlocking" Limitless Growth & Potential

7. "Unlocking" my Nord bloodline, allowing me to gain the biological traits of my Nordic father, whereas before I only inherited my mother's elven Bloodline to use Magic. Now I have a stronger physique like that of a Nord

8. "Unlocked" my Full Potential with the Thu'um

9. "Unlocked" the ability to comprehend the Thu'um

10. "Unlocked +5% of my Brain's potential. (I didn't chose to obtain anymore and risk the unknown variables and side effects taking hold of my mind and body.)

11. Ability to learn any other form of power and magic that otherwise would be unaccessible or impossible to learn due to a multitude of factors such as race, etc

This by no means meant I was overpowered...yet...it just means I am at my peak at all times for my current self, while allowing my ability to learn and grow in power to allow me to become strong enough to face off against my end goal.

Miraak himself.

Harkon would be my first realistic goal for me to face and fight on equal grounds against.

"Sir, what would you like to order?"

A Dunmer female employee of the Retching Netch tavern I was in asked which broke me out of my thoughts and constant usage of the Skeleton Key on myself.

The newly "unlocked" potential of my body and mind proved its worth when I effortlessly took a 2 second glance of the menu that was left on my table before my arrival, and I was instantly able to use my mind's insane processing speed to come up with a decision on my meal.

Of course I didn't need to do this, but it is still polite than telling her "I haven't decided yet", only to bother her later and call her back to me. In addition, it would be troublesome for me to have to wait even longer for my order. At least this way I can be polite, I'm still a person afterall.

"I'll have one of these please, and two Sweetrolls." I said as I began pointing and telling her each of what I wanted from the Menu.

Starter:

"Horker" and Ash yam stew - 4G

Ashlander Nix-hound chili - 6G

Main:

Blacklight Oxen meatballs - 14G

Dessert:

Sweetroll - 2G (4 Gold for two Sweetrolls)

Drink:

Hasphat's sticky Guar Tonic - 2G

"As for the last one. Is this actually made from Guar?"

It was simply unthinkable for a Dunmer to harm, let alone kill such an adorable and cute Guar!

"Ah, no sir. Many people ask about it but that is not the case. It is actually made from Guarana berries that we cultivate personally." The employee replied in a polite manner.

"I see...thank you very much. Here...30 Septims. Is Septim coins still accepted this far from the Empire?"

"Thank you very much. And yes, Septims are still accepted here. The East Empire Trading Company is the main trader and distributor of goods from the mainland to here in Solstheim. But we do trade with travelers and with the people of Skyrim, primarily Windhelm, more so than the capital of Skyrim, Solitude."

"I see, thank you greatly. Here's a tip for the much valued information." I said as I gave the woman 100 septims, which caused her eyes to widen and her expression showed clear ecstasy.

Hehe, this is amusing, it was worth giving her that much just to see her reaction. I'm filthy rich anyway from my business with Amaund Motierre back in Cyrodil over the years.

And now that I have the Skeleton Key, I can freely teleport all across Nirn and to any place of interest I want to go to. For example, every treasure Chest location in the game.

Haha, I'm rich!

...

I waited for a while for my order to come. After that I devoured it and dealt with my current matters which were:

Going over all my current gains from the Treasure Chest I found in Riften near Forelhost ruin, Chillrend, the Skeleton Key, my own soul & mind & body's unlocked potential and power, what resources i would need for the upcoming task and preparing the weapons needed.

Once I was ready I used the Skeleton Key to travel to a city in Morrowind. I didn't dare travel to the city of Necrom since Hermaeous Mora is worshipped as God by the Dunmer there.

The interesting thing is, now that I "unlocked" my Full Potential for my current self, I had a deeper understanding to how I can apply my magic.

Years ago, when Elika first did her entrance exam to get into the Magic Academy, some of bullies bugged her and I had used my Ice Magic to create a false Conjuration spell of Ice like birds with a semi sentient mind.

Since the I had been perfecting it and now as fmof this moment I have mastered this spell I created.

Waving my hand I summoned hundreds of Ravens made of Ice with their own sentient mind like any Daedra summoned via a Conjuration spell.

"Search this entire continent and bring me the location of the Dragon Ahbiilok that hides here in Morrowind! Go!"

Hundreds of Icy Ravens released a caw before they took flight in every direction all to fulfil my command.

I opened my Grimoire and looked at the alternate timelines of alternate versions of myself that have all encountered Ahbiilok at this point in time.

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Burnt to Ashes

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Frozen & Shattered into a million pieces of Ice

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Crushed to Death

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Upper Torso devoured

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Impaled by Ahbiilok's Tail

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Dismemberment

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Disembowlment

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Burnt to Ashes

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Burnt to Ashes

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Vitality Drained

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - killed by [Marked For Death] shout

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Soul Destroyed

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Imploded from within

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Crushed to Death

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Whole body Devoured

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Soul was given to Molag Bal in a exchange

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Impaled by Ahbiilok's Tail

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Frozen & Shattered into a million pieces of Ice

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Impaled by Ahbiilok's Tail

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Crushed to Death

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Frozen & Shattered into a million pieces of Ice

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Tortured to Death

[Killed by Ahbiilok] - Tortured to Death

23 times...

23 deaths...

Ahbiilok kills my alternate selves 23 times...

And one time by giving my soul to Molag Bal himself!

I already saw this...but still...

He's killed me more times than Miraak or Alduin has...

Miraak kills me 4 times while Alduin kills me 7 times...

Just how many timelines and alternate realities did my future self travel and traverse just to reach me, the Prime Sivreth as he says I am.

Who's to say that he is lying and is apart of his plan.

The one I trust the least of all is myself, especially when there is a large difference in age between us, all sorts of variables could have happened in his life to cause him to change from the person I am into whoever he is.

Even one of my alternative timeline selves warned me not to trust the Future Sivreth.

There's too many uncertainties regarding Ahbiilok and my Future Self, but one thing is for sure.

I NEED TO DO THIS!

I MUST FIGHT AHBIILOK HERE AND NOW!

It is necessary for my future plans.

I think...I might actually die soon.

I clenched my chest as I felt..."Death" for the first genuine time.

Before now I felt myself come face to face with circumstances that could have killed me, but this was different. It felt like the time Miraak was choking me, like when I saw him leap towards me before I escaped Apocrypha with Elika.

I gulped as fear gripped me.

I don't want my Icy Raven spies to return with news of his whereabouts.

Naturally I could just summon him by calling out his name like the Dragonborn did to summon Odahviing, but I need to know where he is and what direction he will come to me from. I need to be prepared at all times.

This battle will be the first real battle I ever had.

While I had to fight Ancano, he did beat me when I let my guard down. The circumstances didn't allow me to guarantee my victory, I needed to stop him in the tunnels before he reached the surface, and he took advantage of that and ambushed me with his summons.

But this time, I need to face Ahbiilok head on!

An open area is what I needed as I can morph and mould the terrain to my liking by using the Skeleton Key or my own magic to do so.

I need answers from this battle, I need to know the truth...

..of who I am and what I will do from here on out in this universe...

...

...

...

Days went by and my preparations where completed long ago, but my anxiety had gotten the better of me as I constantly remade my battle plan and changed the environment, only to then change it again later on.

Alas, it seems I can't prepare anymore as the news I dreaded had came back at last.

My Raven spies have returned and informed me of Ahbiilok's location, he is in the North as he has taken up refuge in the ruins near Red Mountain.

I stood up from the chair I had created, and braced myself, Inhaling deeply before I used the power of the Thu'um to summon him.

"Ah-Bii-Lok!"

***********************************************

Ah-Bii-Lok translates into the following

Ah ---> Hunter

Bii ---> Blue

Lok ---> ky

Wiki lore copy and paste for you guys:

Ahbiilok is a dragon whose name means "Hunter-Blue-Sky" in the Dragon Language.[1]

During the early years of the Dragonguard, at some point after the founding of the organization,[2] in 1E 2703,[3][4] he was seen throughout the northern parts of the Jerall Mountains. There were numerous recorded attempts to kill him, but not a single one was successful. He was recorded as an active dragon by the chronicler of the Dragonguard, Brother Mathnan, in the Atlas of Dragons, and as of 2E 373, he was believed to be lairing somewhere in Morrowind.[2]

According to Twin Secrets, a renowned enchanter Brarilu Theran found a dragon sheltered in the smoking ruins of Vvardenfell and defeated it in combat. Instead of killing the Dragon, he parlayed with it. He asked the Dragon for its name, but the Dragon refused and instead offered to teach the mer how to defy the Law of Firsts and enchant items with multiple effects.[5]
