Chapter 3: Going Back Home
After Xi Cheng left, Lu NianXi started working again. Once she had attended all work and meetings, she decide to go home early and prepare some gifts for her family.
She left the company at sharp 5 pm and headed to a mall near there. After getting some daily essentials for herself, she bought something for her family.
LanShi Corporation.
In the President's office.
"Sir, the LNX company's representative has called. They told have arranged for the meeting to be the day after tomorrow."
" Okay. What time? " The man sitting in front of the mahogany table asked.
"At 4 pm " Chen Qin replied to respectfully.
"President, the Madam called earlier and asked me to tell you that she wants you to go home tonight" He said in a low voice.
The man lifted his gaze and looked at his secretary coldly.
Just as he was going to say something, his phone rang. Looking at the phone he saw the person calling him was none other than Madam Mu, his mother.
He sighed and picked his, indicating his secretary to go out.
Once he picked up the call, he heard the mellow voice. "What took you so long to answer the phone, son? " Madam Mu asked her son.
"What could be be doing? He must be dating his work in the office..Ow! "After saying the last phrase, the man suddenly screamed.
Mu Linchen was about to answer when there was a loud roar on the other side.
When Mu Linchen heard what his Father said, his expression darkened.
When Madam Mu heard what her husband said, she pinched his waist and pushed him away and signaled him to shut up.
Master Mu who had been pushed away by his wife, made a Pitiful face could only shut up and stay aside.
When Madam Mu saw this she smiled and started talking to her son.
"Chen'er are you busy? I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Mom, I.. "
"Do you know the Lu Family? Oh.. of course you know them.. haha! They Invited our family for Lunch. She must be missing her daughter.You know how affectionate Sister Lu is! She treats you as her own son. You won't reject her kindness, right?" Madam Mu said emotionally to convince her son.
"Mom, I have an important meeting the next day. I.. " Mu Linchen was about to reject her when Madam Mu interupted him..
"I know you are busy but you have to come. You don't have to stay long if you don't want to. Don't forget. Tomorrow at 10. If you dare ignore me I'll disown you! humph..!" After saying this she hung up.
Mu Linchen who couldn't get a word in and was hung up on, was left speechless.
He sigged and called his assistant in. "Free up my schedule tomorrow morning." He said and ordered a few things to him. After receiving his order Chen Qun left the office.
Mu Linchen got up from his chair and went to the French window of his office. He knew why his mother wanted him to go to the Lu family.
The Mu and Lu family had been friends for many generations.This was especially true for
Old Master Mu and Old Master Lu. Both of them were High ranking Military officers.The pair had been friends and comrades in their early years of youth and had been through life and death situations.
When they retired and entered the business circle they faced harships and helped each other taking both their Company and family's status to a greater heights.
When once there was an accident in the Lu family's company Old Master Mu helped the Lu family to their utmost, overcoming the crisis. Old Master Lu felt grateful and decided to promise his friend to a Bethrotal. Even Old Madam Lu wished for this as she had always supported her husband.
To make their bond further strong, they aggreed to let make their children marry each other. But sadly there was daughter in both the families. so it was called off.
But now, they wanted to make the wish of the Elders of the two family. Hence, As the Heir of the Mu family, Mu Linchen was the candidate to fulfill the wish.
He didn't mind it as he had no one he liked currently.As he was lost in the thought suddenly, the face of the girl who he had seen yesterday came to his mind. He suddenly felt a strange feeling in his heart.
'I want to see her again.' He thought. He was stunned as he realized what he was thinking.
He pushed away the strange thoughts and started doing his work.
Deciding to finish some of the work in advance.
In Southwind Building.
It was almost 7 pm when NianXi returned to her apartment.
When she thought of how she had missed her family and just as they had missed her, she
couldn't help but get emotional.
"I wonder how they will feel when see me..? "
Thinking of their reactions, she chuckled.
"It will be very interesting! "
So she made some light dishes for herself
and ate. Having been tired after working she took a bath and went to sleep. But thinking about how she would be meeting her family the next day, she couldn't sleep.
She opened her phone and decided to reply to work messages. As she was replying to an email, Su Bei Sent her a wechat message.
She opend the chat and read the message.
She was shocked to see that her friend, who had been crying and was drinking her sorrow away yesterday, had sent her a picture with her a handsome man.
The man's face was only captured one sidely. But She could say that the was good looking.
She was very shocked to see that Su Bei had really got a new boyfriend.
"BeiBei, what are you doing? Are you really going after another man?"She quickly replied with a voice message.
Su Bei was happily lying on the sofa and messaging on her phone. Next to her, Lin Chen was also replying to his friends about how he and Su Bei had cleared up their misunderstanding.
When Lu NianXi's voice message came, she opened it without thinking anything.
Hence as soon as she heard the question, she was a bit lost.
Lin Chen who had just made up with his girlfriend and explained the misunderstanding, jerked up from his sit, as soon as he heard the message.
He turned to see that Su Bei was smiling awkwardly at him. Just as he wanted to ask her about it, she gave him a peck on his lips and made a shush gesture.
Before he could say anything, she made a call to Lu NianXi.
Receiving the call, NianXi got up from the bed
and went to the window of her room.
She picked up the call and before she could ask or say anything, Su Bei spoke first.
"Baby, it's not like that! The person in the photo is my boyfriend. It's not like what you think!" She said.
"Then what about your breakup? Didn't you say he was with another girl? Is he lying to you?"
When Su Bei heard this, she was embarrassed and didn't know what to do. She took a deep breath and explained to her.
" It's not like that. What you said was right. I misunderstood him and blamed him wrongly."
"Huh...?What do you mean? " NianXi didn't understand what her friend was saying.
Su Bei got even more shy and stammered to say "The girl... That girl is.. his little sister..!"
At the end her voice was extremely low.
When Lu NianXi heard this, she didn't know whether to laughed at her pr not. Che chuckled at her friend.
"Oh My...!! So the person you were jealous of was your little sister-in-law?" She said.
"Isn't that good then?It's not like what you thought. So why are you speaking so quietly then? It's good that you have cleared everything up! So, is he with you now?"
She asked.
Su Bei looked towards the sofa and said slowly "Yes".
" So the photo you sent me was to tell me that you have made up? Then she looked at the picture again and said again.
"He's quite good looking."
"You should maintain a healthy relationship. I won't disturb you anymore then. Remember, don't overdo it! " She teased her an ended the call.
"What nonsense are you speaking of?!!" Su Bei shouted only to see that the phone had been hung up.
"I'll get revenge for this later, humph!!" She puffed up her cheeks and muttered to herself.
She suddenly felt a pair of hand on her waist.
Lin Shen hugged her from behind and pulled he ito his arms. He then carried her up and strode towards the bedroom.
"Dear, it's late. Let's go to sleep." He smiled and hurried to the bedroom and closed the door.
Su Bei who had been carried without a warning, was speechless. Before she could say anything, she was kissed by the man and the next thing that would happen was obvious.
Su Bei obviously couldn't sleep ater that....
After ending the call lu NianXi went to sleep.
Finally she fell asleep after some time.
