"Greetings, Your Highness 1st Prince. Today is your birthday and I'm here to give you your present." The 1st Princess Calista Myrian is still bending her knee while her head was still looking down. I smiled at her even if she can't see me.
"You can now rise, 1st Princess. You don't need to bow for that long," I said which made her stand up straight.
"That's how I give respect to the 1st Prince, 2nd Prince, King and Queen, Your Highness," she said and smiled a little at me.
I shook my head in disbelief. Yes, she's being formal to us but when it comes to the other nobles, she'll just ignore them as if they're not existing. I wonder why? But my forehead creased when I remember that I'm also like that. No wonder, she's really my sister.
"So where is your gift, 1st Princess?" I smiled that made her gesture her hand telling the servant to show her gift but my mouth parted when many servants appeared while holding tons of gifts.
"I hope you'll accept it, Your Highness." I pointed my finger at the gifts she bought, asking if it is all mine.
"That's too much, 1st Princess," I said but she just shrugged which made me look at her in disbelief. I know, we're rich and part of the Royal Bloodline but I didn't expect her to be like this. One gift is okay but this?
"Happy Birthday, Your Highness 1st Prince."
"It's nice to see you reach your 26th birthday, Your Highness."
"Long and healthy life, Your Highness."
Many of them greeted me but I just nodded my head at them and look for my relatives to entertain them. Duke Euclid, my first cousin waved his hand at me so I immediately walk closer to them which made them bow to give respect to me.
"Happy Birthday, Your Highness." I smiled at them and thank them.
"We already put our gifts there," Duke Euclid said and pointed it beside the stair. When my eyes found the gifts, I chuckled because that's too much. I bet some of the nobles put their gifts too there.
"Thank you, Duke Euclid." He shook his head and pat my shoulder.
"So how are you?" I asked and take the vacant seat.
"I'm doing great. Thanks for asking, Your Highness." I nodded my head and smiled at her mother who was looking at me the whole time. But she didn't give me a smile that made me look at her. She's not like this every time she saw me but today is too different.
"Duke Euclid, is the Duchess okay?" I asked. It bothers me the way she looks at me like that as if she's reading my soul and I can't help but feel nervous.
He glanced at her mother who was still looking at me seriously that made him also confuse. "She's not like that a while ago. Wait, let me ask her, Your Highness," he excused. I just nodded as a response but before he asked her mom, someone called me so I stood up and excused myself at them.
"Tonight, we're going to witness the speech of the 1st Prince Adolphus Lyall," the announcer said that making everyone clap their hands. I walk closer to the stair until I can now see them all. I feel happy because everyone bows their heads at me.
"Thank you, everyone, for coming to my birthday," I started. They were listening carefully but before I could continue my speech, the lights suddenly off. I heard murmurs and shouts when it happened but thankfully, the lights came back to our surprise, a witch appeared that caught our guards off.
"Ah, why was I not invited?" she asked and slowly went down to her broom.
"King, I was expecting you to invite me but what the hell? You didn't send me letters. I am so disappointed," she said. She even put her hand on her chest as if she felt pain in there.
I clenched my jaw and told our knights to get her but the witch shook her head and made a stop gesture using her hand causing our knights to stop.
"I can't move!" one of our knights said that made us widen our eyes.
"You!" she shouted and look at me with a fire in her eyes.
"Who told you to meddle? Don't you know who I am? I'm Helga, the Queen of the witches and you dare to give them a command? You're just a lowly wolf!" she said that making my jaw clench.
"Stop this, Queen Helga! You shouldn't shout at my son!" King said trying to get her attention the King succeed.
"If only you invited me, King Giovanni. I would not make any commotion," she said and let out a devil laugh.
"That's why I'm begging you to stop. This is a special occasion for my son. Don't make any stupid since this is our world and you just trespassed!" The King stood up on his throne and I can already feel his anger. His eyes are now red which means he's not holding his temper.
"If you dare to hurt me, you know, you can't defeat me. I'm stronger than you, King Giovanni," she reminded which made the King clench his hand into a fist. He shut his mouth by making his lips into a thin line.
Queen Helga look at me and pointed her wand with a creepy smile on her lips, "This is the punishment and the gift for your birthday, Your Highness." A red light appear on the tip of her wand that made me close my eyes.
I heard the Queen shout at King Giovanni, "Giovanni! Our son, please tell her to stop! No!"
I heard the witch's evil laugh that made me open my eyes. "Find the woman who can lift the curse on you! Happy Birthday, Your Highness." And with that, she made a portal at my foot that made me fall.
