Chapter 3: Friend or foe?
The man walked into the center of the room and folded his arm. He simply stared at Hensui and waited for his next course of action.
[New quest recieved]
[survive this fight]
"What do you mean survive?" hensui wondered, "I'm assuming that this system thinks I won't survive this confrontation, I think the best chance I have is to escape as soon as I can".
"I think you have the wrong person, I'm actually quite lost", Hensui said while getting up slowly so as to show that he was not a threat. The man continued to stare daggers at him but did not utter any word in response . Hensui then repeated himself a little louder but got the same treatment as before. Raising up his hands slowly, Hensui made his way to the entrance but kept a safe distance from the mysterious man who continued to follow his movements with his eyes.
hensui continued to move cautiously untill he was standing next to the man, breathing a sigh of relief he continued making his way to the door and felt a lot of pressure lifting of his shoulders since he had been half expecting to be attacked. the mysterious man was now twisting his head at an odd angle in order to stare at the boy that was now standing directly behind him, an evil smile slowly crept into his face as he turned around and drew back his right hand getting ready to throw out a punch. The distance between the two of them was beyond punching distance so Hensui was not worried but he still braced himself for the impact. The man casually formed his hand into a fist, before throwing it out towards Hensui.
Instead of the shock wave that He sui had been anticipating, a stream of fire erupted from his hand and shot out towards Hensui at an incredible speed. Thanks to his newfound system though, he could see the flame and quickly moved out of the way. "My speed really has improved!! I'm starting to think that this system will take me places", Hensui noted as he got into a fighting stance. The man man's smile seemed to grow in leaps and bounds and he drew back both hands this time as fire streams appeared from his hands. He did not stop there but continued to throw out a barrage of attacks. Hensui immediately used his skill monkey hop and leapt out of the way, this did not help much as the attacks followed him to his current position
He used the monkey hop skill again and landed behind the mysterious man, he wasn't done yet and hop toward his target whilst readying a fist at the same time. The momentum gave more power and he threw out a powerful punch towards the man's spine. The blow was a powerful one and Hensui was quite confident that it was strong enough to be a desicive blow. As he was still stuck in his reverie, a blow to the stomach brought him back to his senses and he felt as if all the air had been knocked out of him. He tried to pull back his arm in order to attack again but it wouldn't budge, that's when he noticed that it had been simply grabbed by his assailant's left hand. "If that hit of mine was not enough to take him out then I need to think of something else" he thought.
Just then an idea struck him while he dodged another punch that was coming towards his face, he leaned to the side and noted that this had been a regular punch without any flames. "I guess this might just work", he smiled internally as he leant backwards and tugged with all his might. This only succeed in him gaining a centimetre or so but the man pulled back and hensui was lunged forward. Hensui curled himself into a ball and then brought his knees forward and slammed them against the man's chest, the man was taken aback memontarily and loosened his grip on the hand that he was holding.
Hensui took advantage of this situation and used his legs to propel himself away from his attacker. He crashed on to the wall and could feel that something had been broken. He forced himself back into a fighting stance and stepped forward, his legs felt like jelly and his head was spinning like crazy but he manged to hang one because he knew that one slip up could cost him his life.
When he looked at the person he had been fighting though, the man was still in the center of the room and had not moved an inch. A ding resounded in his head and he could not believe the messages that he was seeing

Hensui was left speechless, he immediately opened the skills tab and could see that he was now able able to use 2 skills. Shadow hop and wind slash. On selecting wind slash a description of the skill popped up and of was as follows
[Windslash, the host is able to cover his hand in a air currents, this enables the user to use his palm as a slicing edge. this skill consumes 1 energy point after every 15 seconds and has a cooldown of 5 minutes]
"Interesting" Hensui thought as he went to check out his stats screen. There was a new addition there which was taijutsu and he opened up the description which read
[Taijutsu 1]
[This shows the level of the host's fighting technique, learning new forms of martial arts will increase this stat in addition to using stat points]
Hensui then preceded to open up the description for the energy stat and it was a shock follows
[energy 1]
[Energy: it refers to the amount of mana that the host has. It is consumed when the host uses magical abilities and will regenerate 1 point every 30 minutes]
Hensui thought he pretty much understood the whole concept behind strength speed and perception.
When it came to allocating the stat points, he added 1 to his energy and decided to keep the other one as a reserve, his stat points were now as follows
[Strength 1]
[speed 3]
[energy 2]
[perception 1]
[taijutsu 1]
"So are you just going to stand there and keep staring into space?" The large man said.
"Ooh sorry I was just trying to..."
A booming laughter cut him off before he could begin to explain himself. The mam continued laughing for a while before waking forward and stretching his hand towards Hensui "The name's Alex and I believe you owe me your life twice now " he stated. Hensui immediately took Alex hand as he had just recieved a taste of the latter's fighting power and did not want to repeat the experience anytime soon. "I'm Hensui Mara and I am very thankful for your kindness sir", he did not feel thankful at all but know better than to get on the bad side of side of such a person.
"I hereby swear on this day that i Hensui Mara am in your debt and will pay you back however i can", this made Alex burst into another round of hysterical laughter. Hensui was unsure of what to do and so he decided to go with the flow and smiled sheepishly.
"There is no need for that", Alex declared while heading to the door, he then looked Hensui straight in the eye and said "if you want to find out what happened to you then come along".
"And I'm sure you don't have much of a choice" he stated as he made his way out of the room.
"I'm not sure if I can trust this guy, but he seems to be the one who brought me here and if he had plenty of opportunities to harm me if that was his intention", hensui pondered. "He seems to act rashly and don't think I can get along with such a person anyways, what do I do? what do I do?"
"You know what screw this, I'll just tag along for now and see what happens, I don't really know much of the state of the world and he could have some information. I also need to get stronger if I'm going to get revenge on the werewolf" Hensui had finally managed to convince himself and he headed out to follow his new companion.
It seemed as though Alex had not doubt in his mind about Hensui coming along with him as he did not even wait for him his answer but just went on his way. Thanks to his system though, Hensui was able to locate the sound of his footsteps and hastened his pace in order to catch up,
"Time to find found out the truth of what really happened"
