Chapter 256: War on the Frozen Shores Part 5: Enemy Reinforcements Inbound

(General POV)

Location the Norscan Shores, the Lands of the Graelings-Outside the Ruined Port/Battlefield-Dark Legion Vs World Walkers

Ixion/Laharl was standing directly in front of the wingless Frost Chaos Dragon, as said dragon's six eyes from its vertical split head were focused on him.

The frost dragon roared as it fought against the pain, and corrosive darkness still flowing through it to charge at Laharl/Ixion, it started by trying to bite at Ixion, but the Chosen of the Gods easily dodge the split jaws of the dragon.

As it rushed to the right side of the beast's neck, Ixion/Laharl struck with his morningstar, Wailmaker, causing a great amount of damage and pain to the dragon, which caused the frost dragon to cry out in pain, as it used it right claw to swipe at Ixion and hitting the avatar with enough force to send him flying and crashing into the snow.

As the dragon growled and looked for it's prey with a bleeding wound in it right neck area.

Laharl made Ixion stand as it seems while the upgrades gave the avatar some greater durability, it still sustained some meager damage.

Meaning that it was a great decision to face the Frost Chaos Dragon, at last a challenge amongst the forces of the World Walkers, turning to face the dragon once again, with the beast having found him and charged in again with Ixion standing firm and proud, eager for the fight...

Whilst this clashed happened, in another spot of the battle the three type of Daemonhosts were charging straight at another force of the World Walkers, lead by a Marauder Champion wielding a Great-Axe, he roared, "In the name of the Gods, and the Wanderer!!!" as the bald, muscular Norscan lead his hundreds of fellow tribesmen against the "mutants".

Obviously the khornate daemonhosts were the most aggressive and ahead of the others, they wield various weapons mainly axes and have some blood brass armor plating metched to their daemonic mutated bodies.

Behind the khornate hosts were the laharlish daemonhosts, barely wearing armor preferring to use their massive claws or darkblades, to fight while the more insane and twisted of these host using daemons, they were also the most tactical allowing the strongest and brutal ahead, while they rush the sides during the fighting, choking the prey in all sides, as the nurglish host pick up the rear.

The bloated and disease ridden nurglish daemonhosts, were the slowest but arguably the most deadly of the hundreds of hist gathered now, armed in armor resembling maggotkin, and various rusted and withered weapons all in all these daemonic beings were eager to slaughter and destroy in the name of their respected dark master, that granted them each another opportunity to serve and fight with a new body.

Their clash began with the World Walkers, having a clear disadvantage against these "mutants" the khornate hosts, literally bulldozed through their troops, the laharlish hosts as they planned once the clash began they've split up and struck the Norscans from both right and left sides.

All the while the nurglish hosts, slowly made their way into the middle of the battle, immediately all wounds that the marauders inflict on these creatures is ignored, for the host while mortal they all possess the daemonic resilience, and all pain inflicted is suffered by the mortal host not the daemon in complete control.

Making a utter massacre, the khornate hosts viciously attacking everything in a blind blood rage, the laharlish being swift and sadistic sparing none and seeking out those that seem or are about to run, especially and the nurglish hosts their meer presence was nauseating and their poisons deadly.

Another great loss for the forces of the Eternal Wanderer, who was fighting against the Crow/Nurgle worshippers of the Dark Legion, marauders infected were disease and plague all lay dead and decaying quickly on the feet of Wulfrik.

Wulfrik stood strong and menacing, sixty more has he slain in this battle but he has yet to face his desired opponent.

Until one of his men came rushing towards him, to give him reports on the progress of the battle...the first new angered Wulfrik, after he heard it, his army was losing against the forces of Ixion, he was about to drive his Torgald through the fool reporting him, when the next part of the report actually interest and made his mood better.

The next piece of news to report, was that a large warband from the surrounding areas were coming to fight for him, 500+ of Darkoath Savagers that are in the area as well, but the most important news to the Wanderer was that his query was fighting and winning against his Frost Dragon, meaning that at last he'll get to face his rival in battle, with a kick to the face of the marauder, falling into the snow Wulfrik order him to spread the news, as he had a fight to wage, as the Eternal Wanderer walked away towards the area that the dragon was fighting against Ixion Daemonhart, with a battle hungry smirk on his face.

As for Darkoath Savagers they are warbands of savage warriors and marauders who have taken the Darkoath.

They make brutal war across the length and breadth of the Old World, as they scream blood-curdling bows to the Ruinous Powers.

These wandering barbarians, see each new dawn is an opportunity to win the favour of the Dark Gods, they accomplish this by swearing fell oaths, which they believe are witnessed by the Dark Gods themselves. These oaths range from vowing to strike the head from an enemy champion to offering their blades to one of the Chaos Lords or Champions across the world in person.

A Darkoath's pledges are fastidiously recorded upon stone tablets and scrimshawed bone fragments that are borne into battle, to break such a vow is seen as the foulest of crimes, and so Darkoath warriors fight with an incontestable will to see their pacts fulfilled, headless of danger and clad only in furs to prove their courage.

One of these tribes which happens to be hunting in the Bjornlings Lands when a spectral herald of the Gods came to them, and gave them great tidings of favor, glory, and honor as a great battle was happening between Wulfrik the Wanderer and the Chosen of the Gods, Ixion Daemonhart.

By the advice suggested to the Warqueen in command of this Darkoath warband, that they should join the World Walkers and fight against the Dark Legion, for victory would mean untold favor from the Gods and a great opportunity to serve the Everchosen, hence the reason these Darkoath Savagers were heading to join the battle...by Zxaie-xie's schemes and machinations.

Returning to the battle, the fight between Ixion/Laharl against the Frost Chaos Dragon...

The dragon was attacking with a frenzied relentlessness swiping its claws, or trying to bite into it prey, or even firing small burst of frost breathe at him.

But Ixion/Laharl evaded, parried, blocked, or clashed against all of the frost dragon's attacks, all the while when the Dark One was able he would counter hitting the beast either with the Hellbane or the Wailmaker.

In the end of the dragon's frenzy it was clear which of the two combatants was more brutalized, with the frost dragon being littered with slashes and bruises not to mention the crippling wound of lossing it wings to Laharl's supercharged [Dark Bolt] earlier.

Ixion/Laharl was looking at his prey eager to kill, slightly bent knees and weapons held low the Dark One charged forward.

The Frost Chaos Dragon seeing it's prey charging towards it attacked by blasting a full burst of frost breathe, fully hitting Laharl/Ixion with the full brunt of the breathe attack.

While the blunt side of the magical attack, in form of icicle shards wasn't as damaging the magical force of Chaos and ice itself caused the avatar to sustain some constant damage, and slowing it down, Laharl got careless he and the avatar still weren't fully resistant against magic, especially from magic forced that they haven't face yet.

Nurgle yelled at him, "Brother!! Your freezing...evade...or you'll...lose...and...Ixion...shall need...repairs!!!" even the Blood God, agreed also yelling at their brother, that he was being careless and overzealous with their avatar!!

They words made Laharl chuckled as he thought, "My younger brothers, lecturing me, funny." Laharl made Ixion roll to the side to escape the further onslaught of the frost dragon's breathe, with frost and ice coating some parts of Ixion's armor and cape.

Slowly standing up the avatar, it was clear that Ixion was suffering from a [Slow] debuff, for any other being this would be worrying for them, but for Laharl it was exciting, a real challenge for him, Khorne had his challenge against Kholek and the Dark One found one for him to enjoy crushing and slaughtering.

The Dragon roared as their battle was still ongoing...while some distance away, the Wanderer, Wulfrik was quickly making his way through the snow and battles, killing any man that stood in his way, swinging his blade easily cutting through men and armor as flesh, as all he desires to quickly face his opponent still fighting against his dragon.

Should Ixion live when he arrives at the battle between Ixion and the Dragon, he'll call off the beast for that man, Ixion Daemonhart, is his to kill...back to the Chosen of the Gods, while he was slowed, the Dark One still fought on.

Again the dragon went into a mad frenzy, this time with the debuff circulating and impeding Ixion's movements, he was forced to tank much of the blows and counter the attacks that he was able to.

On one of those counters, Ixion/Laharl was able to hit the frost dragon with a brutal swing of his morningstar on the top area of the dragon's neck, the blow pierce deeply into the dragon's neck and even manage to touch bone, causing the frost dragon to cry out in great pain not only from the blow but also the pain-amplifier ability that the Wailmaker possesses.

Thrashing around it managed to knock the avatar, away as the Dark One made Ixion stand again he noticed that Ixion was moving a bit faster and smoother, meaning that the debuff was waning and soon he'll be a peak condition again.

That's when he noticed a familiar essence while still far the bloodlust, lust, and dark emotions were clear it was Wulfrik.

While there was still sometime before he arrived at the location it was obvious, that the Eternal Wanderer was coming for him, meaning that he can't enjoy his battle with the dragon as he intended to do, sighing and shaking Ixion's head, while also banging the Hellbane on the right shoulder pauldron a couple times...seems that he'll have to finish things quicker than what he originally wanted.

Looking at the dragon, that was now growling and more cautious of him, seems to the Dark One that the dragon knew that it's time was numbered.

Both Khorne and Nurgle requested pieces of the frost dragon, Khorne it's skull and blood, Nurgle it's organs and bones.

Laharl responded, "Khorne while I can give you the beast's blood, I would like it's head for a trophy in exchange I'll introduce you a worthy servant for your blood legion. Acceptable?" Khorne, while he preferred his first offered Dragon Skull, he fully trust his brother with not screwing him over, not just because he is the God of Oaths, but because he has never deceived or used him so he responded, "Very well, I accept. I expect this warrior to be worthy of serving me, brother."

With their pact struck, and sealed Laharl doesn't have to hold back anymore...

Walking straight at the dragon, as it hissed and roar to intimidate him, Laharl started to gathered the void-darkness magic from the Lore of Laharl, to cast [Grasp of Laharl] spell, to kill the Frost Chaos Dragon once and for all.
