Chapter 14: CH12: History Lesson (2)
after finishing his dinner and getting back to the library office with a milkshake in hand, Leonard looks at Ema who gives him a weird look.
pretending not to see it, he asks while sitting on the sofa "So what my great ancestor and his friends were up to?"
ema look at him for a second and sighed "They create the 'Veil of Protection'. As I said before it's a spell cast on the whole world, it's meant to hide the supernaturals away from normal humans and the reverse, but although it has its property, they didn't take into mind the condition, or the world form as whole so they end up almost tearing the world apart"
leo nodded for her to continue as he was drinking
seeking her head, Ema never less continues "The idea behind the spell is to make any supernatural invisible in the eyes of mortals who had no energy or relation to the supernatural. but forgets that everything had supernatural property in their creation, just the humans and no energy holder preserve the world around them in a way they see fit to there live, that of course not by choice. but simply how survival instinct work"
Leo took some time to organize his thought before commenting "So instead of a barrier they intended to make, a world ripping chains pop up?"
she chuckled "yea, but not exactly the world, instead it ripped dimensions apart?" at that Leo got surprised "There are other dimensions to there?"
shaking her head "It wasn't until the veil rise, we used to think that the world is one single entity, but we were wrong. the world was actually a collection of 4 dimensions tied together"
this revelation took Leo's interest to another level, so his anxiety "meaning, that each dimension has something special to do with the others or else nothing major could happen even if they broke apart if I have to say."
Ema nodded "Well you are not entirely wrong, the dimensions work as a source of some concept. and them being in connection from creation, reaping part or sealing any connection with it will destroy the balance"
She shook her head "Back to the spell, after noticing what they did, and desperately trying to correct what they did. they tried to keep the world balance by stopping the process. luckily or unluckily depending on how you see it, the balance got back but the world never got back to what it was before. the dimensions did get to normal but instead of tying back together, they become completely separated ones but linked together in part of them."
Leo nodded "So, I guess trouble starts to appear?"
ema sighed "Some species despair like they never exist, some lost their mind falling into the level of mindless monsters, and some even change shape and form. it was a mess honestly"
Leo looks at her with pity, he feels she talks like someone who lives to tell the tale.
noticing his look she coughed "Well, it took some time but the situation calmed down. after that the supernatural noticed some changes, for first, any being whose energy is higher than a certain level will be invisible to others as long as he didn't allow it, the exception is those with energy inside them, the other is that mana in this dimension becomes more tin then before"
Ray looked at her in confusion "The way you keep calling it energy then mana is there is a difference"
she laugh and said "That is also one of the things we figure out later, Central dimension, beast Forest, soul dimension, dark dimension. thous are four dimensions and every one has its unique energy, and mana is only the poor mixture of the energy "
Leo recalled the weird energy he feels from his uncle then nodded "I understand, but what these unique energies are?"
the owl answered "Beast Forest energy is known as elemental and also the source of the very concept of the primal nature elements. soul dimension energy is known as spiritual pressure and is also the source of the concept of souls and mind. dark dimension with an energy known as malice and the concept of corruption"
she stopped talking as Leo asked "And the central?" she mischief said "The will?"
Leo look at her and said "The will? As in 'human will'" She chuckled "Not only humans have a will, but yeah the central dimension is the source of the will concept and the energy here is the 'sheer will' the harder but easy to use energy"
she chuckled adding jokingly "I thought you will be familiar with it as you almost hit the nail in your description in One Piece, its excellent and an interesting tale by the way"
Leo almost drop his drink if not for his quick reaction, he looked at her weirdly as he internally threw a tantrum 'Are you fuking with me 'HAKI' Is this some joke from the one who send me here?'
looking at the smirking owl, he feel like disabling it but just shook his head "So you're saying that 'haki' is actually a thing?"
she starts to laugh "More than you could imagine, I almost drop death from laughing when you present it in your manga, and probably all the supernatural who read it"
Leo started to get a really bad feeling "Are you saying the supernatural read entertainment work?"
she nodded "Being old and able to use magic, doesn't mean we don't get bored" Not knowing how to answer, he give up on that part, but still have some confusing parts he wanted to ask.
looking at her "But how do you know it's me? I publish my work under a fake name! and I have a great deal of confidence in my security system."
