Chapter 3: Unknown Energy
I start doing pull-ups and push-ups, before the increase in stats I could do 500 of each, and now I did 1000 in just 20 minutes and I was not even out of breath after that truly amazing.
After 2 hours of training, I was covered in sweat and went to shower to clean.
After that, I called kai and told him to keep watch outside and not let anyone inside.
Going to the corner of the left side of the gym where the treadmill was, pushing it to the side I searched for a specific spot and push it in. With slightly sound walls on both sides parted to reveal metal doors after going toward it scanning my eyes and hands it opened.
The lab was rectangular in shape room of 100x 50-meter area with technology never been on earth, the temperature inside was cold and one could smell the metallic and chemical smell.
After reincarnating to earth I was surprised to know there are countless novels and books about fantasy stories, Humans here were very creative and had many entertainment means, My thinking got broad after reading the novel, manga, and Anime of different genres. I thought if can't cultivate Qi then the only thing that can make me even stronger is by becoming a mythical creature like a vampire or werewolf would do. Earth has there stories but they are not real. I researched it and come to know wolfs and bats were creatures they derived from, So I started researching their DNA and start experiments with human DNA.
After doing some tests and errors, It was already 9 PM.
Closing the Lab and placing the treadmill in its place, I got out of Lab, and butler kai greeted me.
"Is dinner prepared?" I asked kai.
"Yes, young master" He replied.
Kai is an old man with white hair and a slim body, he is very professional in his work.
Going to the dining hall took 2-3 minutes by walking at the normal phase. A long table with a chair by the side was arranged with different types of dishes. After sitting down maid started serving me food, my aptitude is quite big as my body needs more nutrients and protein.
I got up from my chair and start heading to my room after telling my butler kai.
My room was big and had all the entertainment things like a game console and a big T.V. Huge bed was placed on the corner left side of the window.
I got into the bathroom and brush my teeth. Changing into nightwear I hop on the bed and closed my eyes.

All over the world strange phenomenon started to happen, In different countries and land vortex of red color started to appear out of thin air Some were away from the public while some formed in the middle of streets and Unknown energies were rushing out of it, People discovering it started to post its images and news of the unknown event was spread and made everyone panic.
This unknown Energy spread at a terrifying rate and almost cover the whole Earth.
Mutation starts to happen in a few living creatures be it animals, Plants, Humans, or micro-organisms. 1 in 100 humans was going through it. Those humans who couldn't handle the Pain brought by evolution died. Those who were able to handle were able to get mutate abilities and their strength also doubled with it. In just night world has changed from normal to that of the novel.

Rex POV
At midnight.
when I was sleeping on the bed some type of energy like Qi was invading my body instantly I sit up and to my left, I was feeling the high intensity of radiation looking at a side I saw red color vortex spinning at a fast speed. I tried to stop it from invading my body but failed. System messages appear with a warning
[ Warning: ?? Energy is invading your body.... ]
[ Your body is will go into mutation in 3 2 1...]
Because of shock and panic, I could react not and just the System count hit 0. My body froze and I can not even move my eyes.
Intense pain shoots out from my hands that I thought someone is burning, cutting, and breaking my bones same time. The pain of getting mutation changed was so intense that after some time was only feeling numbness afterward. torture didn't stop there as my heart started to beat so fast I thought it will bust but what came was again pain. The energy was reconstructing and destroying my body at a fast phase, It was completely opposite to increasing stats with soul power. I tried to get my control back but even now in so much pain, I could only stare at the ceiling without even blinking.
After hours of hellish pain, I was able to move, I moved my hands they were shaking violently and I had no energy left.
I was in a panic as to know what happen to my body, What the System was telling me about mutation. While lying in bed drenched in sweat I called out status.
