Chapter 5: Chapter 5 Welcome New Life
"Welcome to earth, so let's get started with how I am going to increase my power. First of all, I have to head to the university to finish some business there before I will start looking for a mana energy source to cultivate. Larry stood up and started heading out of the forest he took a path and started walking "I hope I will be able to get out of this forest through this path it better not be wrong it only I was at the pick of my power I would have been able to travel easily to where I wish to go in this planet. Now I will have to cultivate from scratch. Before the battle with the treasure I find, I was able to discover that our level of power back then was called a second-step magician with a detailed guide on how to step into the third step, but in the end, I was unable to make use of it because of the greed of humans, I wonder how they were able to know I had a treasure like that or was I set up, this is indeed interesting, anyway I should put that aside for the now, the main thing to do right now is to increase my power, with strength I will be able to get all the answer I need with time I will solve them all.
Larry left the thought aside and decided to focus on the important thing at hand and that is to increase his power. He was still walking in the forest when he thought about all of this in his head. He was making plans on how to go about his future cultivation.
"what my bad I forgot am on the earth and people here use phones to communicate with each other" He reaches into his pocket in his trouser and brought out a phone Samsung s10 plus "so this phone" the thing was that the assassin left his phone intact when open the phone he saw a lot of miss calls and voice messages from WhatsApp. The messages and voice notes were from three persons with one taking the lead, it was up to fifty missed calls, one of the contacts up to thirty with the other two calls one was eight times while the other was twelve times. When he saw the missed calls and voice notes there was a smile on his face "there are still people in this world that do care for me, am okay, I will have to give them a call so they will be less worried". Larry dialed one of the numbers, the first time using a phone to make calls he felt anticipated and anxious at the same.
Some few seconds later the phone started ringing and the call was answered.
" Hello Larry, Larry is that you? Are you alright? Before Larry could say a word from the other side of the phone he saw him hit with a lot of questions for him to answer.
"Yeah I'm alright Mike how is everyone in the hostel, how are they doing, please you all should calm down am okay," Larry said with sincerity.
"Larry, you are always less concerned about a lot of things. Do you know how many days you have gone missing? And we have been trying to reach you with no response from you. You have been missing for three days Larry, three days Larry for a while three days you have to give us a reasonable explanation of what happened to you not just telling you not to worry, what the h*ll is that. Are you serious? Mike was furious at the end of the phone, he was wondering how cold-hearted Larry was as they have been trying to reach him for three days at the end he just said don't worry, I am fine.
"Sorry Mike, I was on a research trip and I encountered a little accident. You know me and my research stuff, I always turn off notifications when am carrying out research so, please don't be offended I will make it up to you guy when I return" Larry said but at the same time, he was confused thinking if how they will feel if they were to know that their friend was dead and it was some else that is now inside the body of their friend how will they handle it.
"I will just have to find ways to hide it from them for the meantime when they are mature enough to receive the news I will present the news to them or better still I have to leave it the way it is so they don't know and no will get hurt because the truth hurt most time and the way people relate to information differ they might say I am the one killed their friend and am looking for ways to sugar coat it". Larry thought.
"You will have to pay for it and you will have to take us out. With that, this matter will be over. You get it, Larry. You hurry up and meet us in the hostel" Mike said sincerely with care like he was looking after his younger brother.
"Okay I will, I will. I will be back shortly. You all should be stress-free. I'm fine. But won't be able to sponsor you all, please you will have to take off the bills for me" Larry said jokingly.
"What! You are the one owing us and expect me to pay it for you come on men you need to be serious". Mike answered in a questioning tone.
*Please can't you help me out, you know I don't like parties stuff and outing is not my thing, help me out this once" Larry said pleading
"Ha..ha.." Mike laughed without holding back "have you forgotten how many we have told me just this once at the end it was not just that time it continued so you will have to do it by yourself this time"
"Mike why like this, you can't just cover up for me, I know I have been telling you to help me out a lot of times but this time is indeed different please just do it for me". Larry was still holding on to the matter line he will not stop until he get the answer he needs from Mike.
"Don't bother it is all on you bro you are alright so please start coming we are waiting for you hurry up researcher". Mike said then ended the call, he felt like he was unable to win the argument with Larry.
" Silly Mike is always afraid of argument and always finds a quick way to end it before it escalates, anyway it's just a meal. I don't know why my former self is afraid of social gatherings as for me that doesn't even count". Larry thought to himself after the call ended
"I need to know where I am before u will be able to get out of this forest," Larry thought as he scrolled through his phone he launched the Google Maps service to find his current location.
"Okay, I get it. I am in the beechwood forest in Cambridge and the way it seems I am in the restricted area no wonder there are no tourists here, even though it is a nature reserve forest for people to access this is just too dangerous for people to tour"
Larry Looked through the google map service to figure out how he will get out of the forest and started walking in the direction given to him by the Map service
"Even if the devices here on earth are not compared to the ones in my world they are still used for the time being. When the time is right I see what I can do about creating some little assistant devices that will make things a lot easier in the future". Larry was still walking on the path he got from the map service and was continuously checking if there was any change.
"I need to cultivate starting from the Qi mana stage".
"Once I get to the third level of the Qi mana stage I will be able to sense the mana energy in the earth a little bit. As my power level increases so will my senses toward mana-filled energy increase likewise, so all I needed to start cultivating"
It has been up to an hour since Larry started following the path of the map service, seeing the way the area was too crowded with trees and bushes and how they were well maintained he knew he was at the right and it won't be long before he gets to where he will be able to get a cab to live the beechwoods nature reserve.
Not long after Larry was in an area filled with he found a way to blend in with people with no one suspecting him or having knowledge of where he was coming from if they knew it was from the restricted area they would be scared to death. Walking with these people Larry felt refreshed with hope for what was to come
"Welcome new life I will give you my all".
