Chapter 11: chapter 8
" where am I?", Ann asked as soon as she woke up, she surveyed her surrounding.
" black bed, white pillow, red walls, this is not my room", she whispered as she sat down.
A sharp pain ran from her head to her spine. " what happened? ", she said as she tried recalling all that happened, she gasped at the realization of what she had done.
" stupid, stupid ", she said hitting her head with her hands. She stood up looking around as she moved backward, " where is this?", she asked herself. " home", a man's voice echoed in the large room. She immediately steadied her stance and kicked him in his groin area.
She frowned when she saw him, " let go of my foot, you shallow-minded fool", she said glaring at Calli who was amused.
" oh don't be angry, look what I brought you ", he said extending his left hand that had earlier been at his back.
He twirled it in front of her, and she scrunched her face in disgust, " get that glass of tequila away from me, I shouldn't have gone to the club yesterday", she said sighing.
He let her foot down and burst into laughter which annoyed her. " hahaha...ha.., so.. try...haha..", he laughed crazily.
" what's so funny, hmm", she asked glaring at him as he moved closer, " I'm sorry madame but you've been unconscious for two weeks straight ", Calli informed as he burst into laughter.
" so I was unconscious and no one cared, he is here laughing at me not even consoling me", Ann thought as tears streamed down her cheeks, she knew it was wrong but she wished he would care, he didn't even get her some medicine instead he brought tequila to tease her.
Calli became bothered when he looked at Ann, she was crying but not a single sound was heard.
She looked angry but sad. " where is Veda?", she asked coldly, " making a dish", calli said softly, he moved closer to her but she walked out.
She noticed she was wearing his shirt which was barely covering her curves, she came back to the room only to hear Calli battling with himself, " why did you laugh?, why did you not get her the hangover soup but decided to tease her, I love her, I can't bare her mad at me, I should apologize", he kept on ranting, trying to come up with a good apology until he heard soft laughter coming from the door.
" so you've been there, I am sorry for his I behaved", calli apologized.
When it comes to Ann, Callie is her weakness and she couldn't bear seeing him distressed but she wouldn't forgive easily this time, she knew Calli loves her but can it stand the test of time? was it true love? those were her worries.
She decided to change the topic, " why am I wearing your shirt? it's so short", Ann protested as she looked at herself again running to cover herself with the blanket.
Callie knew what to say was avoiding what he wanted to say but he couldn't keep it in, he wanted to stake his claim on her and stop her bloody engagement to Josh, only the mere thought of Josh touching her made him crazy.
He knew Ann didn't love Josh but is trying to run away from her fears.
" Ann, this can't wait anymore, I have something to confess to you," he said standing in front of her.
" I love you a lot, I'm sorry for always being a jerk and hurting you, I don't like you hurting yourself, please, give me a chance", he confessed begging with bowed head.
Ann's face showed confusion, pain, and indescribable feelings, he was relieved she didn't hate him.
Ann was confused and in deep thought, should she forget all her years of yearning for him, rejection, mocking from her schoolmates, pain, and disappointment or should she turn him down and move on?
Rejecting him would be sweet revenge but deep down she knew she deeply loved him and would be miserable without him.
"Why do you want me now?, is it because I am the mafia princess and heiress?, is it because marrying another man will crush your ego?, I don't know what you want calli but I love you but love cannot be my weakness, please state your price or anything and I'll give you, just leave me al.....hmmm", calli shut her up with a kiss.
" don't you tell me to leave you alone because you know I won't, I came back just for you Ann, I love you a lot ".
Callie said as tears ran down her cheeks, and she hugged him.
"I love you too Calli but let's take things easy", she said while Calli smiled scratching his head, he had aimed to ravage her Lips again.
" you have to swear on your life that you are not lying ", Ann said pouting like a child. " okay, I promise and cross my heart little one", he promised, he felt like he had won something tangible worth more than anything.
"When will stop calling me little one?", she asked, " never", calli replied as he stole a kiss and rested on her chest.
" okay, hey lift your head from my chest you pervert", Ann said as she pushed him up because he had lifted her to the big table in the room.
" you know I don't know much about a relationship so you have to teach me so that I'll not be a novice when I marry the man of my dreams", Ann said blinking innocently completely oblivious that her words had activated a volcano.
Those words echoed in his mind but Ann kept on fiddling with her collar button and smiling.
"Who is the man of your dreams?, JOSH?", his cold voice sent shivers through her body, " oh no, my crush is Justin Beiber", she said.
she was surprised that Callie who was angry now laughed crazily.
" what?, you don't think I'm beautiful or shapely enough?, ", she asked as she looked away angrily.
" how do I put this, Justin Beiber is married and you are my woman, only mine and I won't let anyone take you from me, trust me when I tell you Ann that I'm no ordinary man, I might rank second place in business while your father is first, but I won't hesitate to tear the underworld or anywhere, anyone apart just to get you", Calli said in a cold voice.
Ann could see the glint of evil that ran like a spark across his eyes when he spoke, she knew he was no ordinary man but she never expected him to be powerful.
Although the underworld had the mafia king, the king was still subject to a particular lineage, the LA lineage, a very dangerous clan owned and controlled by Ambrosio. Now she understood, calli is the late Luciano Ambrosio's descendant, but she never heard of Calli only Josh and that was why she was hesitant to marry him.
She decided to do a background check on him.
" yeah I know Justin is married but he's just a crush and I love his name", she said rolling her eyes. " noted, crush any man that comes near Ann with a name starting with J or Justin", calli thought as he smirked at Ann's word.
