Chapter 63: Chance meeting
Leon casually strolled around the city of vale after that with genesis who insisted on leon stopping at every food stall along the way. it was amusing to see the ferocious dragon acting like an over eager child set loose in a candy store. the only real problem was that leon had to shell out a large amount of lien when genesis found a taste he wanted to sample. considering genesis's mouth was the size of leons torso each "sample" was most of what the stall had prepared in advance if not all of it.
For most people it would have been a huge meal but since genesis was so big it was little more than a small snack. still leon was richer than he knew what to do with so shelling out a small fortune to indulge genesis's whims didn't bother him at all. leon and genesis ran into team rwby while they were in the city along with what was unmistakably an android. leon almost couldn't believe what his eyes were showing him. a synthetic construct with a soul , according to everything leon knew a robot no matter how realistic could contain such a thing.
Yet here in front of him was undeniable proof that this was not true but leon was confused as to why the soul seemed incomplete like it was split apart somehow. the "girl" penny polendina was very uncomfortable under leon's eyes mostly because she knew that if anyone could identify what she was at a glance it was him. her father had made it clear to her that his own robotics expertise was like the light of a fire fly compared to leons sun. meeting such an absolute master in his field was a terrifying thing for a robotic person trying to pass as human.
Leon made no move to expose the girl however as since she had a soul she still counted as a person in his opinion. that was the line leon drew in the sand when it came to artificial intelligence , the existence of a soul , without it no matter how much they seem like a person all he sees is a piece of tech. this may seem harsh but thanks to his aura based sharingan he could literally see if something had a soul or not so he was perfectly justified in his ideals.
"Came to spy on the possible competition?" leon asked ruby with a small smile after greeting the robot girl. ruby looked sheepish "what , no , that's crazy , ok yes but please don't get mad at us!" she said trying to lie but immediately realizing she failed and fessed up guiltily. "going straight for the weakest link like usual huh leon?" yang said with a smirk. "oh how could i not when she's just so innocent and adorable~" leon said while ruffling rubies hair. the girl swatted away the offending hand angrily "leon!" she complain while fixing her hair and leon just laughed at her.
"You know most of the foreign students won't be arriving till later this week right?" leon asked the group with a grin. weiss looked upset "seriously? why are we even here then?!" she asked angry at wasting her time. "probably for the three r's if i had to guess" leon said with a shrug. "three r's?" weiss asked confused. "rest , relaxation and recovery." yang and ruby said together in a monotone manner that was very creepy." what just happened?" blake asked visibly concerned. leon laughed "i drilled the importance of the three r's into their head since we were young." he said with a huge grin.
"He always brought it up when we complained about how lazy he was back then so it got stuck in our heads." yang said while giving leon a spiteful look which he just shrugged off. "are sure your talking about this guy right here , the guy who owns the most influential company EVER?" weiss asked in disbelief. "oh yeah , this bastard could have revolutionized the whole world a thousand times over if he hadn't thought it was a hassle to deal with." yang said with a huff. "it's just too much work to rule the world , i'm perfectly happy violently killing grim thank you." leon said seriously.
