Chapter 5: CHAPTER 5
After taking a shower, I felt more energized and quickly headed downstairs to the aroma of grandpa preparing some garlic mashed potatoes, he knows how much I love to have after a hectic day, and he was definitely treating me today.
" Grandpa! You know it my favorite"...
" Yeah! That why I chose to prepare it. I can't even begin to imagine what you have been through, I thought Nathan was the one for you"
" It okay grandpa, I will get over it"
" I know you are trying to be strong, but no one ever get over a betrayal by best friend and boyfriend"
" Best friend? What are you talking about?"
" Natalie, off course!! Who else would I be talking about?"
" What does my break-up with Nathan have to do with Natalie?"
" I thought you are aware!!"
" Aware of what, grandpa?"
I was unconsciously rubbing my palm, my patience was at peak and I feel the wolf inside of me trying to fum out.
" Nathan and Natalie got married at the court this morning"
I didn't realize my spoon dropped, I stood there my mouth wild open, but my hands clenched so tight that I could smell my blood on my palm.
" Am sorry Aurelia, I thought you knew"
" Grandpa, I will be back"
That was all I managed to say before storming out of the house.
I arrived at Natalie's place in less than three minutes, her parent couldn't even look me in the eyes. They know how long Natalie and I have been friends, practically since childhood, they knew the bond we shared, it was much more than friendship, she was the sister I never heard. And all those could say with guilt in their face was that Natalie was in her husband's house.
Arriving at the Jones mansion, there was this bitter spit in my stomach. I felt like throwing up at the thought of everything we've been together, I was so foolish to have believed everything that came out of his mouth.
" How can I help you?"
The security at the gate asked. No one ever asked me such while I was his girlfriend, I came and left that house as pleased, now I was being interrogated by the lowest human in that house.
" DEX! Are you really asking me that?"
" Am sorry, miss Elena, but master Jones doesn't want you here!"
" I know! Please tell Nathan I just want to speak to Natalie for a few minutes".
" Am sorry ma'am, but am only following instructions here"
" Please DEX! I won't leave this place unless I speak to Natalie. Even if you drag me away, I will come back, I will keep on plastering you unless I speak to her",
I spoke as he heaved a sigh of frustration, narrowed his eyes before walking away.
I stood there for countless hours, I was really getting tired, but I needed to remember this day each moment of my life, I needed to look Natalie in the eyes and asked her if every moment we shared together, those smiles were all a lie.
" Aurelia!!"
Finally, she walks over to me, a tender look on her face as she calls me softly.
" Nat! What the hell happened?"
" What do you mean?"
" You were my best friend, how could you do these to me"?
" I did nothing to you Aurelia, you got what you deserved!"
" What?"
" How long did you kept bragging to us about how extravagant your wedding was going to be, for heaven's sake Aurelia everyone at college got tired of listening to your mess, even Nathan thought too low of you"
" So you thought taking him away was the best while we joked and ate together!! You even did my makeup and wished me good luck while you were secretly planning a wedding with him, Natalie you are disposable!!"
The tears in my eyes were so painful, it felt more painful than my transformation to a wolf, it was directly from the heart.
I felt the wolf in me howl, trying to lush forth.
" Aurelia, if you have nothing else to say, then please and don't spoil my honeymoon. You are a pathetic looser!!"
She grins as she walks away.
Standing there dumbfounded, the words of the alpha started popping into my head, the story he told me, he was obviously talking about me, indeed I don't belong here anymore, the town itself where I grew up has rejected me, It's time for me to embrace my new identity. A lone Wolf doesn't survive out there indeed.
I walk back home, almost a shadow of my self, I really couldn't believe all these was happening to me, in a town I love so much.
" Aurelia!! What happened?"
Grandpa rushed outside as he grab my arms and embrace me tight.
" Grandpa..."
That was all I could say before I broke down in tears.
" It okay dear, it okay, every disappointment is a blessing disguised"
" Grandpa, how am I ever going to get through these"
" You will dear, it just a matter of time"
Grandpa made me some herbal tea to calm me down, and when I was fully relax, I told him of my plans to leave town
" Where are you going to go, dear?"
" I don't know, anywhere, I just want to start my life over"
" But you need to figure out a place, I want to be certain where you are, so I can sleep tight at night"
" I have a friend in LA, I will go there. Where is Dad?"
" He traveled, he had some emergency to attend to"
I could see those suspicious looks in his eyes, as I heard his heart beat fast wherever Dad went to definitely had to do with him being a wolf hunter.
" But I will tell him you left and why you had to leave"
" Thank you so much grandpa, I love you so much"
I sob as I embrace him tight again.

Staring at my room, pictures of my college friends, Nathan, Natalie, I just couldn't help but remember the good old days when we were happy being friends. They choose their path now it was my turn to choose my path.
I began to fold my clothes into a box, I took everything that was important to me even pictures of Nathan and Natalie, as much as they hurt badly, they were part of my good memories and deserve to live on in my heart.
I stare at the room which was now empty except for the cushion, the bed where Natalie and I shared most night during girl's night, I walked out of the room and shut it tight.

I arrived at the woods where I was bitten, I couldn't find my way to the town where the werewolves reside, I was lost and angry when a voice spoke to me.
" Aurelia! Stay where you are, my men will come get you"
I recognize the voice, but I wasn't certain how he was able to speak inside my head, I stood there waiting when two of them walk up to me, I recognized the one who bit me, Zane his height speaks for itself, its complexion was fair neutral, with a rounded hazel eyes, his hair were light brown, a quiff hairstyle that made him even more scary.
" Aurelia. Alpha Dario has instructed us to bring you back to the pack".
I was too devastated to speak, I nodded, and they understood as I followed behind them.
