"Well then, now the freshman representative will be delivering his greeting speech. The representative is the student who received the highest score on this year's entrance exam – Shin Wolford."
"Yes, ma'am."
Shin sitting on the first seat stood up as soon his name was called for greeting speech. The sudden noise, wake up Arthur who was more busy looking at his growth.
'I will check it later on.'
He was very excited to check his extent of powers. Before whenever he tried to conjure some magic using his mental strength, it seemed to have limits. Unless there was a rational reason, he wasn't able to create most complex magic like one of the most complex magic element – Time.
No matter how he visualized, he couldn't do a single time magic spell. But now after the sudden realization and with the breakthrough, he realized his strength which had been bottlenecked for years has finally opened up.
Shin walked up to the podium under the shocked audience. The companions with him, Maria and Cecily were also shocked to know the person they met by coincidence turned out to the grandson of the sage.
Cough!
Shin coughed to grab all attention making all the restless audience quiet. And he started his speech which he prepared before.
"Thank you for the introduction. I am the freshman representative, Shin Wolford. On this joyous day I feel very happy to be able to join the prestigious Earlshide Magic Academy which has produced numerous excellent mages who are protecting this country.
My family and friends have taught me so much since I was little. I was raised by my grandfather who decided to live deep in the forest after his retirement. Because of that, I know a little of how society works.
One time a certain person told me something. "Go enter the academy and learn the ways of the world."
Coming to the capital completely changed my surroundings. I've made many friends already. To me, meeting people is something precious and is a major part of life.
That being said, please do not ostracize me for being out of touch with society. Because I might cry if you do so."
Listening to his joke in his speech, many students giggled, and even nobleman were whispering all around the hall.
"Parents, guests, students and teachers. Please, bestow us your guidance and encouragement and I hope we can take care of each other in next 3 years.
That's all from me. The freshman representative – Shin Wolford."
And his speech ended with enormous applause resounding and echoing around the hall.

"Ahahaha-bahahah-haha!"
The ceremony ended with people going out of the hall in an order. And here in the group of the top 10, most of them were laughing at Shin's speech.
"What? Why are you laughing at?"
Shin couldn't understand the reason for August's laugh. He quickly recalled his speech and didn't find any defaults with it.
"Hehehe… Well, nobody has ever thrown in a joke in their greeting speech before. Your really hasn't seen any, huh."
"Eh? Really?"
Shin panicked and asked both girls to confirm August's words.
"I've also never heard a joke in one…"
"Yeah, this is the first time I've have ever heard one!"
Both Cecily and Maria were also laughing at him. And Shin was holding his head as if the world has been destroyed. Because of his uncommon sense, he has done many things which are too unique all this time.
Looking at him, Arthur couldn't help but consoled him a bit.
"Don't worry, Shin. Your speech is really good is many terms. Much better than the speakers I have seen. And I think because of your joke students took it well."
Arthur came up and patted at his shoulders. Maria who didn't understand what Arthur meant asked him.
"Arthur-san. What do you mean by it was good in many terms?"
August and Cecily were also quite interested in it. Looking at them not understanding, Arthur remembered that he was from another world and that's why he was more advanced in terms of eloquence than anyone.
In his previous world, the politicians give speeches. Speeches which are very historic, and so amazing which can make people intoxicated in it.
In his previous world, where violence was used as last resort, words were weapon. Diplomacy was most practiced and as times go on, just like any field, the way to express – the way to speak also evolved.
'No wonder they don't know that adding a humor between a speech makes it more effective.'
"Well, you know that Shin is the grandson of Sage. Having such position has its advantages but it also has its disadvantages. Now, you all probably get along with Shin is because of his position."
"No—"
Cecily tried to deny him but was interrupted by Arthur.
"I am not telling that you all aren't his friends. I am just telling the reason you are friends with him is because of the convenience in your position in society. For example, August met Shin only because he is the prince. Or Shin met August just because he is the grandson of the Sage. if it was someone else, a commoner with no identity, there is no way he would be able to meet up with Shin."
"What are you trying to say, Arthur?"
August being an intellectual person, understood his words. Whatever Arthur said was indeed truth but still he didn't like it.
"I am just trying to tell you that speech before given by Shin made him more appealable in the eyes of other students. With adding a humor, it gave an appeal, that Shin the Sage's grandson is also a normal person. And this will help him to get more friends."
Normally, commoners will try to avoid the high class person despite having the notion of equality in this academy. And Shin Wolford, the Sage's grandson is in the top of the list. But after learning about him, most of them wouldn't keep the guard since thinking Shin is same as them.
In modern days, many politicians do that. Go to campaigns, into the poverty-stricken areas walking making a good impression to the public.
"That's why don't worry too much Shin. It's alright."
