Chapter 3: Flames
The girl in the coffin after shedding tears was unconsciously put to sleep. Six fires of varying hues appeared to encircle the coffin as the deceased slept peacefully.
"Good! She is currently asleep fufufu I abhor seeing a girl crying "The red flame spoke as it approached the face of the sleeping girl, but was interrupted by the blue flame.
"Hel, do not approach her; you are causing a disturbance"
"You have a sharp tongue, Morrigan, which is why Batara didn't give you a second glance," Hel, the red flame, said as she returned.
The blue flames of Morrigan grew larger as if they wanted to consume the red flame.
"Stop creating fuss the two of you! Especially you Hel" the Violet flame said with authority in its voice
"Just listen to Yama the two of you" the orange flame sigh
"Anubis, you sycophant, are you not ashamed to be a protege of this Lord of justice Yama?!" Hel spat sarcastically as its flames turned bright red.
"You-"
The cyan flame said with a cold voice, "Enough with the trash talk, everyone; we have important business to attend to."
"Why do you love butting on-" Hel didn't continue what she was going to say when a melodic voice chimed loudly
"Now... Now... Everyone should try to remain calm as Whiro instructed, and let's discuss what we will do about the wretched girl lying in the coffin" Batara's enchanting voice calms the other floating flames like a charm.
"Fufufu Batara ah you're always our mediator should I be glad?" Hel says with a hint of sarcasm before she closes her mouth to prevent her from saying more provocative words and causing more commotion among them.
"Hmph!" Whiro and Anubis snorted coldly as they maintained their silence alongside the two other flames.
When all the flames calm down, they begin to discuss the actions they have to do about the woman in the coffin.
"Should we condemn her to hell? Hades will handle things "Anubis said
"No! How insensitive you are! Do not send her directly to that old man hades for her transgressions "Hel argued
"Why then? Isn't she died because of her mistakes?"
"Well, she died protecting the man she hated in the end" Morrigan added
"However, she perished because she foolishly allowed herself to be duped by others." Whiro supported Anubis
"We cannot say it is entirely her fault because, after all, she was brainwashed at a young age, and dying by protecting her loved ones was the only option she had after learning the truth," Yama commented based on his assessment.
"Yama is correct! You two cold-blooded death gods have no idea what it's like to be a girl who has been wronged." Hel's ranting about women's justice resumes.
"We are death gods and have no compassion for a soul whose life is tainted with evil." Whiro mocked with the appearance of rolling its eyes
"Hmph! You are the Goddess of Niflheim, the one covered in ice, yet you are too brazen and fiery! Are you sure you're not Hestia?" Anubis's addition irritated Hel
"You mummy dog of a bitch! Don't compare with that woman"
"What did you say, you old Virgin!"
"Wanna fight?! Game on!"
"Stop! Are the two of you children? For the love of God! Stop fighting over nonsense!" Morrigan can't help to be frustrated and burst
"Settle down everyone, the final verdict begins now, so please give all of your answers because we are running out of time, we death gods are pressed for time, especially with the woman's soul vanishing," Batara's voice transformed into a deathly, icy tone.
"Tsk, you're a god who has devoured similarly unfortunate people, so why not consume her soul?" Anubis could not help but mumble.
"It's true that her soul was enticing to devour, given her abundance of misfortune, but I have my own criteria of what unlucky soul can go to my stomach, Anubis" Batara cynically smiled
Even Anubis can't see the other's expression, he shivered as his flames flickered.
"Her regret over not loving the man is too great, which is why we have been summoned to look; upon viewing her memories, I cannot help but feel pity" - - Yama
"What should we do then? The majority of this woman's sins are the result of being manipulated by those she trusted. I concur with Yama "Morrigan expressed both her position and her choice.
"Me! Me! The girl is too pitiful and interesting! I want to get her soul back to my world" Hel energetically floats around the girl wanting to pull the soul inside and take it back to her world to be her playmate
"You can only get her soul if it is willing to go with you, Hel" Whiro butted in blowing the energetic bubbles around the Goddess of Niflheim
"All right, may I offer a recommendation for the final decree?" Batara said
"*yawns* I have no problem with that" — Anubis
The other four flames agreed because they knew that Batara is the most rational and level-headed of the group. He was the God of Light and Earth, the god of time and destruction, and the devourer of unfortunate individuals. They were all powerful beings, but Batara's level is not something or someone who would dare to cross his boundaries.
"This human's regret was too powerful for us to be summoned here; if we immediately send her to Hades, I fear her regret will not be extinguished and her soul will continue to suffer. She was predominantly evil in her previous life due to the influence of others, but she was able to save another person's life at the expense of her own. I assume the majority of you will not oppose the final decree I am about to make, which is that the girl should be allowed to join the system."
"What?! Your verdict is that this individual should join the Death System? Are you crazy?!" Whiro cannot resist responding.
"Joining the System of Death? This is a joke, right? Why does a person with a tainted past have the privilege to join the system we designed for souls who are more deserving of returning to their time?" Anubis disapproved of Batara's decision.
"You're as dumb as a dog, despite the fact that the human-made so many errors that she deserved to go back in time to fix them." Hel finds herself compelled to respond.
"ᛃᛟᚢ᛫ᛒᛁᛏᚲᚺ!᛫ᛞᛟᚾ'ᛏ᛫ᚲᚨᛚᛚ᛫ᛗᛖ᛫ᛞᛟᚷ᛫ᛁ'ᛗ᛫ᚨ᛫ᚷᛟᛞ!᛫(You bitch! Don't call me dog I'm a god!)"
"Because I have other obligations, I will accept Batara's decision" After Morrigan spoke, a small ball of flame separated from her body.
"I concur with Batara's assessment, and I'm curious to see how this human can change her life ah" As with Morrigan, Yama agreed, and a small ball of flame separated.
"Hundred percent I consent! I want to watch this girl's fufufu because my domain is currently too dull "Hel said as she pulled a small flame ball from her body.
"I still disagree with your judgment, but I'll give it a shot."
"I'm not stingy though and I want to if this human deserves this chance we will give to her of not ill be the one to escorts her to the deepest hell"
Anubis and Whiro concede and both let out a piece of flame from their body.
Batara was pleased as the verdict was finally accepted; he gathered the five small flames of various colors before releasing his own. The six small flames of various hues formed a circle as they approached the woman's body. After the six flames were combined, a black flame with medium-sized sides was produced.
"Huan Suli, you are given the opportunity to be reborn in order to rectify your past and live without remorse. I, Batara Kala, extend a warm welcome to our Death System."
The black flame descends slowly and enters Suli's chest.
Batara, like the other gods, vanished, and after a moment Sulli's body began to glow without her awareness. Suddenly, a golden ball of flame appeared and rushed to her body before vanishing, leaving a coffin lying silently and coldly beneath the vast, twinkling sky.
