Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The Guilty True Lover...
From that day, Hector started to pretend to be good to gain Naira's attention. And he did succeed in it. Naira now seemed to like Hector's behavior a lot. To her, he was a perfect pure souled angel.
Then Hector played his next card. He, one certain day, purposely bumped into Naira, causing all her books to trip over. Hector offered to help her and started the conversation.
"I am so sorry for this." Said Hector politely
"It's okay. I am equally responsible for this. After all, I was a bit careless myself." Said Naira
"No. It's my mistake. I should take responsibility. Why don't we meet at the cafe in the afternoon? As a sign for showing, you my apology, maybe?" He spoke
"You needn't. It isn't a big deal." She spoke
"Please"
"Okay"
"I will pick you up at 5. Be ready."
In the afternoon, Hector put up his most decent and perfect attire. He had worn a white formal shirt, black pants and a blazer. Naira, on the other hand, wore a white shirt and a navy-blue pencil skirt. She also tied a long pony, making her look more amazing.
After a while of silence, both were laughing and having fun. Hector did want to make Naira his girlfriend, but he did not stalk her. So, he had no information about her except some, which everyone knew. He little knew that the pretty-looking, bookworm lady had many similar hobbies as his. They both enjoyed the evening and promised to meet again.
This continued as both began meeting each other often and enjoyed their hobbies as a team. Days passed by and things got more complicated, at least in Hector's heart. Soon Naira had fallen for Hector and decided to say it to him.
"Hector," she started shyly, "I have something to tell you."
"What?" Asked innocent-looking Hector. He had no clue till then.
"I... I LOVE YOU." She said and hid her glances.
It was surely sudden for Hector, but a lovely smile appeared on his face.
"I love you too. "Suddenly, by some thought, it got replaced by worry.
"Naira, I have to go. But I promise that I will propose to you soon. And we will make our relationship public." He said and left at once.
They both usually talked on the phone, but Hector did not want to meet her in person. He usually made some excuses to not meet.
It was not that he didn't want to see her, it was because he felt guilty, when looking at her innocent face. He was himself so confused. Was he falling for Naira?? Was it true love this time????
