Chapter 25: Final showdown
They entered the prison after Fie's background is revealed. They went through the stairs and directly appeared near the jail cells.
"This looks like the place." said Rean.
"Looks like a underground prison all right." said Fie.
"Indeed. He must be here somewhere--" Jusis was about to say something.
"Am I hearing things?" came the voice from the adjacent prison cell.
"There's our guy." said Ram walking to the cell with others following him.
"What are you all doing here?" asked Machias seeing all of them.
"No time. Do your thing, Fie." urged Ram without answering.
He is not in a mood to have a friendly chit chat here. Fie nodded without asking anything.
Fie placed the explosive on the lock. The reason Ram did not use lockpicking skill is because it is an urgency.
"What the--?" Machias shouted in a low tone.
"We don't have time. We can talk later." said Ram.
"As long as we can make it back to the city, we should be able to bluff our way out of any other trouble." said Jusis.
"Right!" said Machias and came out.
"Thanks. I'd resign myself to being stuck in there for a while." said Machias.
"I must admit though, I'm surprised you of all people would come to my aid." said Machias looking at Jusis.
"Hmph. I only came here to see the tear stained face. Plus I thought this might be a good opportunity to pay back my father." replied Jusis.
"Great. One day when I come back here I am going to whop Helmut Albarea in his butt." said Ram.
"What..?" came the voice.
Ram was expecting this so he had already armed himself with gun.
The two provincial soldiers came with their guns running towards them.
"Mirage bolt" Ram shot a bullet which created mirages of itself and hit one of the soldiers causing him to stagger back.
"Fate pummeler" Ram shot a blast of energy which took the form of a fist and hit the other one which made him lose consciousness.
.The others prepared themselves for a fight while Ram backed away. Th other soldier tried to shoot but the other 5 ganged up on him which made him lose drastically and fall down unconscious.
"Great save, Ram." said Rean.
"I was sloppy." said Ram acknowledging the truth.
He knew they were coming but they still wasted time with words, so that is why he felt sloppy towards what he has done.
"Are you sure you're all right with this?" asked Machias.
"This is not the time for discussion. Let's get to running." warned Ram.
They all ran back to the water ways and came outside the prison entrance.
Near the prison...
"What happened here?" asked a soldier.
"Someone must have snuck in through the underground waterway." replied a soldier.
"Curses! It has to be those damn students." said the officer.
The officer turned and said "Release the beasts."
"Those pesky sneaks should serve as test subjects for them." said the officer.
Near the prison door...
Everyone heard the roar of the beasts.
"What was that?" asked Rean.
"Start running now or those beasts are going to chase you to death." replied Ram started running.
Everyone followed his lead and ran with him.
"What beasts?" asked Machias looking at jusis.
"I didn't even know that my family trained beasts." replied Jusis.
They ran and nearly reached a wall when a beast jumped and appeared in front of them.
Ram looked back and was shocked because there are two beasts instead of one.
"Damn you, butterfly effect" Ram cursed in his mind.
There were only supposed to be Kazakh Doven B and R. Now there is a third one "Kazakh Doven G" which is green in colour.
"We're surrounded" said Rean.
Ram looked at the green one and felt much more power from it than the others.
"Take care of the red and blue ones guys. The green one is too much powerful for you to handle." said Ram putting back the guns and taking out the Axe.
The green one had a strength that was like the dungeon boss.
"You heard him. Let's concentrate on these two." said Fie.
Ram approached the green one and completely blocked its path to others.
"You're just an overgrown mutt. Now come." said Ram.
The beast roared and came running towards him to slash with its claws. Ram hit the claw with his Axe which made it take back the claw. The claw was injured.
"Red Moon Axe Art First form"
"Phantom Cross Axe".
Ram released the cross which completely shattered the armor of the beast. The beast became enraged after taking a powerful hit.
It released a jet of Acid towards Ram. Ram leaped up into air and escaped the attack. He moved his body towards the beast and brought down the axe.
The Kazakh Doven stopped the Axe by it's teeth. Ram tried to pull out the Axe but it had hard teeth.
"You are really tough but nothing compared to the dungeon boss." Ram said those words in a low tone.
He took out the gun and put it inside the mouth. The Kazakh Doven felt immense danger and removed its mouth.
"This is the difference between a man and a dog." said Ram.
It bared it fangs and opened its mouth to devour Ram.
"Red Moon Axe Art Second Form".
"Giant Axed Claw".
The power took the form of a claw and completely annihilated the green Kazakh Doven.
The five of them had already killed the Kazakh Doven in just 2 minutes. They were looking at the battle and the second form caught everyone off guard.
They never saw an attack with such power.
"Such power.." said Rean.
"Hmm, I didn't expect such a surprise at all." said Fie smiling.
Emma couldn't believe the power of the attack. She now understands the triplets are really out of ordinary.
"I feel tiny in front of the display like that." said Machias pushing his glasses.
"True. His power is at another level now." replied Jusis.
Ram still kept his guard up as he knows they were too late. He got some experience for killing the green Kazakh Doven
The 5 of them were engrossed in battle that they forgot the real issue.
They took out their weapons as soon as the soldiers came and surrounded them.
"You pushed your luck one step too far this time." said the officer.
"Is that so?" said Ram with a smile and appeared behind the officer.
The officer was stunned and was too late to react to his punch. He fell down unconscious.
Ram did not waste any time as he chopped all the soldiers there to sleep.
"This is what you get for messing with me, scum." said rotated his head anti clockwise.
"Do you have to go that far?" came the voice.
Ram saw Sara with Rufus walking towards the group.
"I warned you, didn't I?" said Ram titling his head left.
"You did. But how will you deal with unexpected situations if you don't face them?" asked Sara.
Ram did not talk back as it is useless to argue with Sara. He just nodded his head in defeat before walking back and standing at the back of the group.
The 5 of them understood his intention. He wants them to talk with her rather than him.
The game like dialogues played out in the same way.
They came to know that Rufus is one of the directors of the academy.
They all made their way back to the central square.
Rufus left after saying some words.
Toval was watching them from the distance.
"So that's Class VII eh? Little rough around the edges but they managed to get through.
Especially the guy who gave me the nod is something special."
Ram looked at Toval and Toval was surprised that he could sense him from that much distance.
Ram gave a thumbs up as a thank you to Toval.
Toval did the same with a smile.
"Rufus Albarea. I heard he is a sharp one..." said Toval.
"What business could he have in the canyon this early morning?" question Blueblanc.
"Who are you..?" asked Toval.
"Pay me no mind. I am a low ranking noble." replied Blueblanc.
"I've been watching over these students to see what they're capable of, much like yourself." said Bleublanc.
"Really?" questioned Toval.
"You wouldn't happen to be someone with fancy sounding stage name?" asked Toval.
'You would have to find out." said Bleublanc before he left.
"We have another messy trouble in our hands huh?" Toval said rubbing his head.
The group boarded the train and Sara sat with others while Ram sat in a seat adjacent to them. He was bored unlike others who were sleeping.
The six of them made fun of Sara when she talked like a teacher. Ram was more in a mood to meet with his brothers and go on another dungeon run. He decided to sleep and closed his eyes.
