Chapter 13: Proclamation Of Love From The Heart

Amber sat there on the cough remembering her past and the kind of life she'd dreamed for herself. She remembers the plans she had with her sister when they were at fourth grade, they'd both dreamed of their kind of hubby to be, how many kids they'll both have and number of visitors they'll invite to their house at Thanksgiving dinners. Amber had always wanted to have three children, a boy being the first, followed by two girls, that had been her imaginary view of a happy little family. Her sister on the other hand had wanted a big family filled with lot of children, and had always craved a for man that comes from a super rich family to satisfy all her luxurious wishes.

On the other hand, the kind of man Amber sees in Troy, supersedes the man she'd always dreamt of as little girl. She's in love with him already and Amber knows this is something stronger than what she can control.

Troy thinks he had done more damages to this little woman than the bastards who took her. He still couldn't control his hormones and strong feelings around her. Hell, he could not even control his thoughts or actions. He claimed her the moment he found her in pool of blood at the mountain, she wasn't given a choice. Amber was half dead and unconscious, she'd thought that day would be her last. The second she showed any strength, he took what she had saved for someone special. Her begging and little moans were his undoing, and he took advantage of her fragile, exploring and submissive nature.

She was confused−probably scared to death. She thinks of him as her hero, and Troy had capitalized on her vulnerability, weakness and innocence. Then to top it all off, leaving her alone, even if it was just a few hours could have caused him to lose her. The fear that gripped Troy on his way back from Jake, thinking he'd lost her made his love for her more stronger. He could not imagine how crazy he would have become if he'd discovered that those bastards that tortured her had found her again and she was lost to him forever.

In just a week or less Amber had became his everything.' Wise men once said, "Love can occur at first sight" But in their case, it was fate that brought them together. He needs to make it up to her and convince her to stay. Promise her that he will take it slow until she could trust him fully. Wishing he were a better man to release her if that is what she wants is just that, wishing. He'd never contemplated keeping a woman, although now he couldn't imagine his life without her. Troy had his own share of pain from a young age after he'd lost his parents. But if he looses her, it will destroy him. At thirty-one, he had discovered love at first sight from an unprecedented occurrence and his Happily Ever After. Now he just have to convince her that he will do everything in his power to make it her Happily Ever After, as well, even if he would have to risk his own life.

As he sits on the couch with her soft, fragile and sensitive body nestled into his crotch, it takes all of his willpower and self control to keep him from pressing his body into hers. He became hard as nail and feel as though he needs to be inside the cocoon of her body to assure himself that she is safe and real and his. His thoughts are like a freight train leading nowhere but to having her bound and helpless for his pleasure and hers. Troy needs to go into action, he need to get on track to discovering the mystery of Amber.

"Baby, listen, I want you to take it slow and tell me as much as you remember. I have information myself that I need to discuss with you so let us just take this one step at a time, so you are not scared or overwhelmed."

Starring deep into his eyes, she felt like she'd known Troy for a very long time, maybe in her dreams or somewhere she could not explain. She had never felt as safe as she does right now while snuggled into his body. Unfortunately, the feeling of coming home when she's with him might come to an abrupt end due to her actions. So much thoughts going through her mind and she needs to find a way to establish a stronger connection with Troy. She needs to find a way to convince him to keep her after he helps her to find her sister. She moves to sit up, but he just pulls her closer, and that sends chills and goose bumps all over her body.

"Stay." Not a request. "I need to feel you while we talk."

Amber thought to herself, What will he think of my crazy story? There's only one way to find out.

"My name is Amber, but my family and friends calls me "sweetheart". My Dad is probably worried sick and my sister Tori was taken at the same time I was. It was her 21st birthday, and I convinced her to go to this bar with me to celebrate. Dad asked us not to go; he was worried about us being out late. We are all he has."

Her voice quivers as she choke back a sob. Troy just pulls her closer, so there is no space between their bodies, and it encourages her to continue.

"We were outside waiting for the cab when I was approached by a businessman who asked for a light. As I was digging in my purse, some guy attacked my sister, and when I went to help her, I was knocked out, too." Troy's body stiffens, I'm sure imagining the worst.

"I think they used chloroform on rags, so we passed out quickly; the violence came later."

"My days blurred together. They kept me in a room with no windows and left the light on all the time. It seemed like every day they would come in and give me orders, and when I didn't obey they would hit me with paddles, canes, and whips. They called me Pet and treated me like dog, and would only feed me like an animal. I defied them every day and was beaten for my insolence. The tattooed guy kept telling me that if I didn't comply, I would be caged daily and only brought out for someone to... you know." Troy stiffens again and holds her even tighter.

"Anyway, I assume eight or nine days ago the tattooed guy knocked me out and when I woke up, I was in a car. The guy driving and the tattooed guy were arguing about who they were selling me to, and the next thing I knew, the car flipped and I was knocked out again. You said you found me on your dirt road, but I don't know what happened between the wreck and you finding me. I faintly remember lying on the ground, cold and in pain, but I couldn't move. I thought I was dead but didn't make it to Heaven. When I finally came to, it was to my own personal savior."

She wanted to face him as she says the next part, so she turned a little and he loosens his hold so she could maneuver herself to her knees. She sits on her heels and places her hands on his chest.

"I will never be able to thank you enough for saving me. I don't believe in coincidences so it can only be fate that brought me to you at that moment. Knowing that God sent you to me as my personal savior is the only thing that has put my mind at ease."

When he went to protest, she placed her finger to his lips.

"Please let me say this. I know at the time that we did," she paused flushing to the roots of her hair, "you know? Made love." He said with conviction.

"Yes, I really didn't know who I was." He winces, and he could not tell if that was from regret, but I have to say the rest.

"I want you to know that it was the most beautiful experience of my life and I wouldn't change it. I am so glad that the choice was not taken from me by those monsters."

His face pales, and she realizes that it was not as beautiful for him as it was for her. He doesn't want to say it because he doesn't want to hurt her, but her heart breaks into a million pieces. Needing to be alone, she moves to stand, but his hands grip her waist to hold her in place. Tears pool in her eyes and begin flowing down her cheeks like a river.

"I am so embarrassed that I poured my heart out to him only to be rejected. I felt a connection to him that was not reciprocated, and talking is not going to fix my humiliation, except he won't let me go. "
