John wakes up in the morning at chirping of birds Pokemons in the forest at 7:00 am.
After making his light breakfast and giving his Pokemons something to eat . He decided to stroll around the river stream and check if he can found any good potential Pokemons. after strolling for a bit he found a shellder which has light green potential which he captured it using scyther who was tagging along.
John then checks his moves

He would sell shellder in black market or either in auction if there is any in pewter city or cerulean city. as he doesn't need shellder in his team.
John is not short on money but who will decline extra free money.
Pokemon world has appraisal devices which is developed by Jenny clan to find about the potential of Pokemons but these devices are not perfect as they cannot tell if that certain Pokemon is deep green, green or light green , you can find these devices in alliance building in each city or Pokemon centres and of course on black markets.
Appraising a Pokemon costs 100,000 pokedollars , it's a rule of alliance to make trainer's hesitate in checking the potential of their Pokemon.
Many trainer's have abandoned their Pokemons after finding their potentials in the past , so to avoid this alliance raised the price by 10 fold.
[ RED potentials are sold for more than 500 millions as they are very rare and did not come ofter and if it did every bid outbids the previous bid by a large margin.]
[ BLUE are sold for 50 million and sometimes it reaches more than 100 million if it is a dragon type.]
[ Green are sold for around 10 million.]
[ Yellow are sold for around 500,000.]
[ ORANGE are sold for around 50,000.]
No one buys WHITE potential Pokemons as they are everywhere.
And purple Pokemons are literally legends and there are no known pokemon trainer who has them at least not to the knowledge of public.

After strolling around a bit he decided to head back , while heading towards his camp he notices something shining on the edge of the water in between rocks.
After reaching out what he found was a mysterious scale like object which was shining in rainbow colours which looks extremely beautiful.
Seeing the scale John cannot believes his luck for a moment , because of how rare they were even if someone doesn't know it's uses. And it was a freaking PRISM SCALE which evolves feebas into the world most beautiful Pokemon MILOTIC.
Searching for a bit, he doesn't find anything else near it so he headed back towards his camp.
After packing everything up, he hit the road again towards pewter city while battling some wild Pokemons on the way.
Which raised Metang and scyther levels
