The Day I Became an S Rank Adventurer
"When can I become strong like you?" cried the small child.
"Don't worry small one, soon enough you'll become a great adventurer and maybe a hero like your dad once was." answered the strange man who hid among the shadows.
"No! You're way stronger than my father, so please take me under your wing!" The child bowed to the supposed friend of his father.
"If that's what you wish I shall grant you it, but be prepared for the obstacles and terrors ahead." he said without seeing any problems with it while patting the child's head.
"Yes, I'll make you proud _______!"
Eight years later...
"For all your deeds and dedication with this guild and town, I shall now boost your rank up tremendously!"
"Are you serious?!"
Before you question what's going on, let's go back a few days prior to what's happening at this moment.
I am Velvet Goon Kaiser; your average adventurer with limited abilities, was taking quests as of four days ago. My class having been chosen by birth at a young age, that being a magician by a fortune telling cat, much to my confusion and also misfortune of being half-noble.
"Hey Ariel, don't you think this quest is a bit too much for me?" I fidgeted, hoping to get another quest from the blonde female standing in front of me, and who is also my personal guild attendant who gives me all these difficult quests.
"What's not too excessive doesn't concern you though, isn't that right Vel?" Ariel gave a mocking smug.
"You might be right but I'm lowly ranked, there's no possible way!" I whimpered, to which was reflected off by her glares.
"The accomplishments you achieved says otherwise." she said while showing me my achievements, to which I didn't actually accomplish by myself due to some circumstances.
"I'll do it just for you then, but if I don't come back alive just know I will always love you!" I gave a cheesy response.
"Will you accept it already and go complete it Vel?" The short, and tempered woman sighed.
"Alright." I chuckled in response.
Right after this quest I came back with more than I had not expected and that's where I happened to get a big jump in rank, to which made Ariel happy all the while jumping around me after a meeting and hearing the great news about my big promotion.
"S-S-Rank?" I stuttered in surprise, "are you sure this is right?" with a confused face.
You heard me right, S-Rank, the highest rank there is, and to add on no one knew this particular beast was a Class O in rank, this indicates monsters with more than average strength that are capable of destroying entire buildings, and is capable of attacking multiple adventurers at once.
"I think there might be a misunderstanding. You think someone like me is capable of something like that?" My eyes widened as I spoke.
"Unfortunately, I'd love to joke about that, but no seriously, you've done us a huge favor, so in return for staying B-Rank we've decided to give you a big boost to S-Rank for your great unwavering strength." Ariel, my Guild attendant smiled with gleaming eyes.
"Seriously?" I gave her a weird look, which confused her.
And this is how I became promoted to S-Rank by sheer luck after I knocked out a Class O beast with a durable wall that it crashed into after I evaded it, which only devastated me and made my situation worse. No more easy quests, no more coming back home early; this is my unluckiest day out of any other day I had.
