Chapter 3: New Zelicya city fortress
— 3 February 2553 A.D.
— 6:15 PM
Jack, after fleeing for hours, has not found any type of residence or urban area.
After all, the planet is a dying one, few people remain in this land.
Over time it stopped mattering to people, only organizations take it into account, after all it is where mankind originated.... Or isn't it?
｢I should have asked for a map...｣ he tried to recall the few images in his mind about the planet, getting nowhere.
Then, not much far away, he began to see a wall that seemed to cover something...
That something made him smile "Looks like I've reached new zelicya.... Something is something at the end."
｢Due to the general purpose of the city, I'm guessing there will be several interesting things, that's assuming it hasn't all been fried｣.
Searching through the extensive wall, he found a entrance checkpoint "Well...".
He made his way to the post, observing the surroundings ｢Too lonely.... Assuming the positive scenario, I'll be safe going in. If it's the latter I can already be looking for weapons｣.
The walls are somewhat neglected, which is normal for a lonely place. However, paying attention you notice that there is not a single guard, much less traces of a fight.
On the other hand, some corpses of the creatures could be seen around and in the middle of the structure.
To achieve that, it seems, these creatures are sticky.
Jack approached one of the many scattered corpses, just by observing from the corner of his eye he was able to verify its death, however... There was not a single mark.
No punctures or burns, much less signs of ionization, nothing that could mean serious damage.

He found it difficult to assess whether the corpse was intact, but he was able to establish a picture of events.

Jack returned his gaze to the entry post "Last time I checked, this was one of the safest cities on the planet, maybe there is a third option."
After some thought, he passed by the security machines, totally fried. Not a single sound was emitted.
Then he headed for the armory.
As he arrived he could behold a dull shade of red above the metal door ｢Closed｣.
He placed his hands on the door, one gripping the handle tightly and the other resting against the frame.
He took a calming breath before exerting pressure on these parts.
The door gave off a creaking sound as it slowly backed up, until the mechanism broke.
Then the door became a sliding cover, just like that.
He left the door closed, thus ensuring that he would not be caught off guard.
Looking at the shelves devoid of weapons, he flashed a slight smile and said "Well a concentrated energy pistol, a precision rifle, some grenades, a machine gun fire, my favorite set."
He immediately grabbed everything, loaded the energy pistol and headed for the door.
It was then that, suddenly, a loud impact was heard, like two metal spheres colliding.
The door flew towards Jack, with a power so great that the door deformed.
Surprised, he felt the gun fall from his hands, his mind suffered a momentary pause.
The door was about to overwhelm him, yet he soon recovered.
With an unsteady pulse, he jumped behind him.
He landed just enough away to avoid being crushed by the door.
｢A door made of type six steel being deformed so easily?｣ Jack observed the creature that hit the door "Let's see what you're capable of, you little monster."
In that moment of rest he could notice its appearance, it's like a jellyfish floating several inches off the ground ｢Something flat? Maybe a pie with tentacles is a cleared description...｣.
The creature attacked him with one of its tentacles, moving at an impressive speed.
Jack barely managed to dodge the attack, rolling his body towards the deformed door, quickly grabbing his gun.
He pulled the trigger, inside the barrel a crimson light emerged.

Only an instant later, something struck the creature's body.
A burst of energy that, upon contact, dispersed as heat before fading away.
However, the creature received no damage.
｢What?｣ That thought only lasted for a brief moment, before focusing again "So you're able to resist it huh? Well, how about this!!!".
He took the submachine gun from his belt and began firing, leaving several holes in the creature, each with a diameter of one centimeter.
The creature let out a gurgling sound.
Jack stood up, barely sighing he said "Huh... That's it? Seems like it was no big deal nonetheless... The weird energy dispersion...".
Seeing this, it was clear that en masse they would be a threat. he took some doses of healing gel and immediately left for the city, who knows, maybe they would do him some good.
Inside the city, he found a scene at the very least gloomy, corpses lying everywhere, people were slaughtered without any compassion.
Some were found cut open in half, others were decapitated, some seemed to have exploded.
A few are unrecognizable, disfigured as if they had died a slow and painful death.
In particular, there were many people whose crotch was cut open.
Among them some were police elites, the armors they wear were dented. It seems that they were not able to destroy those armors.
｢These corpses are too clean...｣.
Besides blood there was no other substance in sight.
Jack's face barely moved but inside he was confused "How is this possible? Not only were they defeated... They totally failed."
｢Even though deforming a type six steel door, it didn't manage to break it... it's impossible that they would have even damaged the armors｣.
He could only sigh, it seems that his suspicions are true, there are stronger beings that already left.
At that moment a girl[Who by appearance would be easy to describe as an officer]raised her face from a rooftop.

Time seemed to have stopped ｢.... Jack｣ she thought as her soft cheeks blushed.
she shook his head ｢No.... It might not be｣.
She patted her cheeks ｢Anyway, we'd better talk to him｣.
Then jumped off the roof onto a truck "Hey, you're from outside aren't you?".
"Eh...?" he turned around and beheld a girl dressed in officer's clothes, black hair, caramel eyes and a cheerful expression, shortly after that she jumped from the truck to the ground.
Jack kept his distance "How do you know?".
The girl laughed bitterly and said "No sane person in this place would walk around these parts just like that, let alone taking into account what happened three hours ago."
Jack scanned the place with his eyes a few times, before saying "I can imagine what happened.... What was it like?"
The girl took on a serious expression, hesitating what to say next "You see.... Those things came in droves without warning, they're extremely resilient. Only fire bullets damaged them, though, as you can imagine. Since the third transformation, most of them use concentrated energy guns. Finally, some things that looked like rabbits with giant legs destroyed the armor of the elites, I can't imagine how monstrous their strength is."
He stared at the girl and asked "I see, and the ogch, didn't say anything?".
The girl reacted a bit strangely before shaking her head and saying "You forget?". Shortly before there was a power surge that disabled all digital technology that didn't have a source to redirect to."
Jack couldn't help but look surprised, "It got this far, how is that possible? Not even with all the power available should it have gotten through."

she jumped towards him and said "You seem to know more than I thought, follow me."
Jack hesitated a bit, especially with how close she is, he could feel excitement in his breathing rate.

After about half an hour, the girl stopped in front of a nightclub and brought her gaze to Jack "Here it is, it's not as cool as a police station, but something is better than nothing...".
The girl felt a little encouragement in her mind and watched his right hand for a second before smiling "Haha, I forgot to introduce myself."
She brought her hand to the middle of her chest and nodded slightly "My name is Kelly, nice to meet you".
The nightclub, being in a poor neighborhood looks somewhat rustic, though not too old fashioned.
Jack surveyed the place before turning his gaze back to Kelly.
He nodded and smiled "My pleasure."
Kelly nodded and turned her gaze to the door before shouting loudly "Open up!".
Jack was hoping for something more discreet "So.... No codes or signs?"
Kelly looked at him strangely "One shout is more than enough."
Jack knows what this will lead to and said "It's nothing, forget it. Who cares about security these days?
"Huh?" Kelly noticed something in his words, before she could ask the door opened revealing a bright and spotless interior.
Jack was a little surprised though, soon after he calmly said "Without the slightest doubt, it looks better than the ship."
After a short pause, three people came out.
Two men and a woman, both of whom had a barely perceptible aura that Jack noticed, without knowing how or why.
Suddenly one of them took a step[His appearance like that of a normal boy entering adulthood, standing about 1.74 meters tall, his blond hair spread a few centimeters under his ears, possessing bright green eyes and a solemn expression]Somewhat absent-mindedly he greeted by gesturing with his right hand "I am Brendan, welcome".
The girl took a step[Her appearance on the contrary has an approximate height of 1.72 meters, her gleaming red hair and blue eyes beautifully accentuated her face, though marred by a lazy expression and lack of energy]"I'm Ledia, nice to meet you" her movements were lazy, however there was some joy in her words.

Kelly sighed in relief at the sight.
｢It looks like they came to an agreement｣.
