Chapter 2: Chapter 2

As we were bickering back and forth, I parked my motorcycle in my spot that I had since last year.

"Alec Lightwood is hotter than Magnus Bane," she declared. "Are you blind or something? Magnus is sexy incarnated," I protest. 'Did she hit her head or something?' I questioned myself in my thoughts. "What did you take? Are you high or just stupid?" I asked cocking an eyebrow at her playfully.

"No, it's just my eyes are better than yours. Not in colour because the colours in your eyes are awesome, I mean your sight if you think Magnus is hotter than Alec," she argued. I sigh, rolling my eyes knowing that she is not going to let this go.

As we walk into school talking about how much better Isabelle Lightwood is than Clary Fairchild, people stared at us most in awe, some in respect and other's in lust. They respect us because of our reputation. In awe due to our outfits and confidence. And lustful states are caused by our body and appearance. Delilah and I made it a hobby to go to the gym together because then it turns into a competition and it's a lot more fun than going alone.

"Is it me or is everyone staring at us?" Lilah asked me. "They are" I replied. "Make them stop, Nate," she blushes at the attention. "Then don't look cute, Lilah." I teased. "That is literally impossible, I mean, look at me." she whined. "Then I guess they will never stop staring then," I shrugged.

Just as I say that a brunette walks up to us. "Hey, I'm Isabella," she introduced herself in a confident yet humble manner. Just as I was about to introduce myself Delilah interrupted

me. " Go away, Isabella," she growled. 'What is with this girl and growling?' I think to myself . "I wasn't talking to you, Delilah." she hissed. 'Ok am I the only NORMAL person here?' I asked myself.

As they were bickering like children, I took the time to look at Isabella. Her eyes look red but she's probably wearing contacts. Her lips are a gentle peach colour that are moving because of the insults being thrown at Lilah.

Her voice is enchanting and have a slight lisp because of her long canine teeth, that now look like fangs. Her skin is kind of pale but for some reason looks very mesmerising.

She is wearing a red crop top that says ' Don't touch' on it with a short black leather jacket. She is wearing red ripped jeans that has gold spikes here and there. Black combat boots that have the same gold spikes. She looks too pretty to exist. Even though she's not my type, I still have eyes and I must say she is gorgeous.

I look between the two girls, spitting insults at each other and notice the difference between them. 'Interesting' I thought. Everything about them, down to the shoes they wear are different.

"Whatever Delilah. Anyway, you were about to tell me your name?" she asked politely. "My name is Nathaniel" I stated. She hummed and said " Well I hope to see you around Nathaniel" she said with a little British accent. Her voice sounds old as if she has lived longer than she seems but maybe it's just the accent. "You too Isabella" I said nodding to her. She smiled as skipped back to her friend, who are sending murderous glares at Lilah.

"Do you know them and if so why do they hate you?" I asked curious of her answer. She shrugged and said "Yes I know them and don't worry just personal issues.”

"Let's go to class before you start arguing with more people," I said as Delilah continues to glare at Isabella. "Suckers," she whispered to herself. "Why do you say that?" I asked. "Because they are va- " she cut herself off before finishing, looking at me nervously. "Very big waste of space, oxygen and time," she curses.

Something told me that, that was just half the reason why but I won't push further. "So, do you think that Mrs Dumb is going to be here this year?" Lilah asked. "Lilah her name is Mrs Dub not dumb," I laughed. Mrs Dub is our math teacher that hates Delilah because Delilah always talks back and argues with her.

"Did I ask?" she sassed. "No and I didn't ask you for attitude but I get it anyway," I replied, rolling my eyes, sucking my teeth. "Do you think she's going to be here or not?"she asked impatiently."Delilah after what you did, I doubt she is staying," I answered as I got my things from my locker."Please, I didn't do anything too drastic," she sighed, putting a hand on her hip.

I looked at her as if she grew another head. "You put porn on her computer then set a timer for it to play in the middle of algebra!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah... so?" She questioned, a confused expression on her face. My head tilts. "You are absolutely crazy. Do you know that?" I chuckled. "I'm not crazy. Crazy isn't strong enough for me," she giggled.

We laughed on the way to first period: English. "Yes," I agreed. "Do you remember when you told her she looks like a Telly Tubby?" I asked. She started choking on laughter. "Omg, she looked absolutely livid!" she replied, eyes wider with excitement.

When we got to class people stared at us but we didn't bother doing anything about it.

When we sat down our English teacher, Mr Francis, walked in. "Good morning students," he said in a monotone voice. The middle aged man removes his blazer, rolling his sleeves up, causing some of the girls to fan their faces. "Today we are watching a Shakespeare play called ' A Mid Summer Nights Dream'." He declared and everyone groans.

The door suddenly swings open and Isabella struts through. "Sorry, not sorry, that I'm late. I just didn't want to be here," she said staring at her blood red false nails.

"I don't really care, just go sit down, Isabella and be quiet," Mr Francis said, rolling his eyes at her, pushing his glasses up on his nose with his middle and index finger.

Her eyes scan the classroom until they land on me and the space next to me, she smiles showing her pearly white fanged teeth and walks over to me. "Nathaniel, " she said waving at me. I smiled at her. "Is anyone sitting here?" She asked politely. "N-" before I could finish Delilah cut me off. "Sit somewhere else, Isabella," she spat with enough venom to kill an elephant.

"I'm sorry, I was not aware that your name is Nathaniel" she spat with the same amount of venom. At this point the whole class is watching. "Enough, Lilah, stop. Yes you can sit down Isabella" I said to stop them from arguing anymore."But, Nate!" Delilah whined, clenching her fist. "I said that’s enough," I demand looking at her warningly. She looked down and I swear I heard her whimper like a sad puppy.

"I'm sorry" Lilah said in a small voice." You know that I can't stay mad at you" I sigh rolling my eyes. She smiled with sparkling eyes and hugged me. "Thank you," she said, squeezing me. "Ehem!" Isabella cleared her throat, pointing at the people staring at us. "Don't you have something better to do?!" Lilah asked while glaring at them.'There she is' I thought to myself smiling .

I turn to Isabella to see her with a bored expression that screams 'IM NOT INTERESTED' while watching the board. "Wow, you really don't want to be here, do you?" I asked genuinely wanting to know. "If I had the option to pull out my fingernails than to be here, I would do it in a heartbeat." She frowned as Mr Francis said to take notes obviously not wanting to.

I suppose she has seen it before, she seems to be sick of it.

I chuckle and left the subject alone. "So are you and Delilah, you know?" Isabella asked.

Lilah and I lock eyes at the same time. "Oh God, no!" We said in unison. "I'm gay and she's so not my type," I snorted, no pointing at the girl pretending to gag. "I totally agree, that is disgusting," Lilah shudders in disgust. "Sorry. It's just that you seem really close." Isabella stated.

"We're best friends. She's like family to me." I look Lilah in the eyes as I say it. She smiles brightly and her eyes shimmered and she looked as if I just made her the new Queen of England.

"That means a lot, Nate," she said. Then she kissed me on the cheek. I didn't mind but I was shocked because she only ever does it when I do something great for her benefit. "What was that for?" I asked. "For being the best friend I could ask for," she answers a small smile on her lips that melts my heart. Something told me that it meant a lot more to her than she was telling me.

"Is it just you two?" Isabella asked. " Us two what?" Lilah asked not looking at Isabella. Why is she so annoyed all of a sudden? "As friends, are you only friends with each other?" Isabella clarified. "Oh yeah, we do talk to other people but they just don't fit with us." I explained. Isabella nods in understanding.

"How come?" she asked curiously. "I just get a feeling that they are not meant to be friends with me, not being a jerk or anything but others just don't click with us. " I said. Now that I listen to it, I'm almost never wrong about people because each of them got into some kind of trouble.

"Do you get that feeling from me" she asked, her eyes full of hope that I say no. I looked into her eyes and all if felt was honesty and loyalty, the same feeling I felt when I first met Delilah. "No, you give off an honest and loyal aura but something tells me that you're overprotective of the people who you care about," I said.

She gasped. " Does that mean we can be friends?" she asked in an excited voice. I look to Lilah to see if she is ok with it. Lilah sighed and said. "If you trust her, I trust her... just not with my life," she said the last part as a joke, I think.

"Welcome to the small family" I said, Isabella squealed."Thank you, so much Lilah." she said.

"Oh no, we're not that close, you have to earn calling me that." Lilah said is a serious tone. "Fair enough but call me Bella please?" she asked, Lilah and I nodded.

"So Bella, are your friends as nice as you are?" Lilah asked in an intimidating manner. "If you get to know them, yes they are" she replied while playing with her nails. " I don't want to get to know them, Nate trusts you not them" Delilah deadpanned. "Then why did you ask?" Bella hissed. "Because I'm trying to find a reason to not hate you because of your friends:" Lilah growled.

"Enough, both of you" I demanded and they both stopped immediately. "Sorry" they both said. "Whatever, do you want to come to my place after school?" I asked. "Is your mom going to be there because she is hilarious" Lilah asked while smiling. "Probably not because she has work today, even though I don't know what it is, it must be important" I said. Lilah pouted "Fine I'll come even though I love watching you and your mom argue."

"What about you Bella, do you want to come over?" I asked. "I was going to grab a bite but I guess it can wait" she said while running her tongue over her fangs. " Just eat earlier" Lilah suggested. "And do not eat too much much," Lilah ordered, narrowing her eyes daringly. "Yes, I know, you don’t have to tell me something like that." Bella scowled.

'This is going to be a long day.' I run my temples
