Chapter 47: I’m The Protagonist?! 10.3
Feng Shi and Feng Hai's eyes met when Feng Hai uprighted her position after her introduction.
Feng Shi's eyes narrowed noticing the provocation in that gaze.
Contrary to fear, Feng Shi smirked slightly and raised her brow at Feng Hai unfazed by her threat.
She does hope that Feng Hai would entertain her, a villainess trapped in a protagonist's body and a villainess waiting to be the protagonist. Who will win between both of them?
Oh, who is she kidding? Feng Hai would never gain an upper hand. She would make sure of that.
"Miss Feng Hai, since you are both new here, you can sit next to miser Claus" The teacher instructed going back to her lesson plan.
"So, welcome to both of you to this school. Class I hope that you give them a warm welcome. And before I forget, Cheng Xiu, as the class representative you are in charge of giving them a tour"
Feng Shi immediately looked at the teacher in disbelief before glaring at Feng Hai who waved at Cheng Xiu with a pleasing smile.
No way, you slut. This boy is hers and hers alone.
Feng Shi kept her smile as the teacher began to continue their lesson but it is noticeable that her smile has turned strained.
Feng Shi clenched her fist trying to contain her possessiveness.
She may have calmed down after everything finally sink in but she is still not fully at ease. It would take a while but she will get there. However, she would not be putting her lover at stake.
He is a gamble that she will never take. He belongs to her and that would never change. Okay, maybe this way of thinking is a little bit dangerous but still.
"Cheng Xiu" She whispered folding her hands on her desk, using them as pillows.
Cheng Xiu glanced at her curiously finding her pouting face adorable while her eyes looked at him with a grievance.
"Is something wrong?" He asked looking back to the board trying not to get the teacher's attention.
Feng Shi didn't like that so she childishly tugged at his blazer until he sighed and looked back at her again without the slightest bit of annoyance, just helplessness.
"Princess, do you need something or can it wait until class is over? I don't want us in trouble" Cheng Xiu whispered but Feng Shi was not having it.
Since her character allows her to be childish, she would never pass on such an advantage that would allow her to get her way.
"Hmp, fine. Enjoy your tour date with Feng Hai then" Feng Shi hissed sitting upright and looking out the window, ignoring Cheng Xiu. However, the mischievous smile in her said otherwise than the annoyance that Cheng Xiu perceives.
"What did I do?" Cheng Xiu mouthed at Cao Ai who was glaring at him.
This stupid boy, honestly. Cao Ai scribbled something in her notes before passing it to Cheng Xiu secretly "Console her you, idiot. She is clearly jealous or at the very least not at ease with you spending time with that other Feng girl"
Taking the note and putting it in his notes before pretending to be reading his notebook, Cheng Xiu gaped in disbelief at the note. Feng Shi, jealous? No way, right?
But if so, does that mean that he has a chance? He could not help the hope that blossomed in his heart at that thought before shaking his head.
There is no way he could risk their friendship just because of a minuscule possibility of the girl he loves loving him back.
Sigh, he is utterly and ridiculously hopelessly in love with this girl.
But, the other Feng girl? Feng Hai, if he remembers correctly, is Feng Shi's step-sister. Cheng Xiu's eyes flashed darkly contrary to his gentle nature.
Perhaps he is not as light as Feng Shi initially thought but Feng Shi wouldn't mind if she did find out. Darkness had always alluded her. after all, it is her true nature.
"Feng Shi, don't be like that. I'm sorry, don't be mad anymore. But I can't just skip my responsibility. How about we compromise on something?" Cheng Xiu pleaded to try to get her to stop being mad at him. He have never noticed how temperamental Feng Shi was but for some reason, he felt this side of her to be what she is supposed to be.
"Alright, let's compromise. You can just assign others to be their guide than" She happily suggested looking at him.
"That's not how compromising worked princess." Cheng Xiu denied immediately making Feng Shi tsk.
"How about you join us instead? After that, we can do whatever you like?" He suggested instead making Feng Shi think about it before agreeing.
This would make sure that Feng Hai would not be able to seduce Cheng Xiu so it's a good compromise.
"Deal" She agreed listening back to the class but secretly thinking of ways to get Feng Hai out of her way.
Time went by faster than she had anticipated.
Before she knows it, their classes already finished and it was time for their free period.
"Sister!" Feng Hai beamed after the bell rang.
She went to hug her but because of the small space, Feng Shi did not manage to dodge.
"Little bitch, I heard that you finally grew some spine." Feng Hai whispered in her ears "I can't wait to break it down. You're going to pay for insulting me"
"Bring it" Feng Shi hissed back before pushing her away.
Feng Hai immediately retracted her vicious look and went back to being the shy new girl.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, Feng Shi. It's just been so long sister" Feng Hai explained trying to create a loving sister image.
Unfortunately, Feng Shi is not willing to play along.
"Feng Hai, have you forgotten? My mother only gave birth to me. And why are you suddenly so nice?" Feng Shi asked doubtfully hiding behind Cheng Xiu in apprehension.
"Sister, what are you talking about? Are you still mad about me leaving to further my studies?" Feng Hua asked gripping her wrist tightly that was on view, daring her to say more.
Feng Shi just mentally cackled before forcing her eyes to nearly tear up.
"I'm- I'm sorry Feng Hai. I didn't mean what I said. You're hurting me" Feng Shi complained and Cheng Xiu immediately took action ripping her hands off of Feng Shi.
His gaze hardened when he saw how her grip had caused Feng Shi to have bruises on her wrist.
"Stay away from her you pretentious bitch" Chia Biu immediately flared up, standing in front of Cheng Xiu and Feng Shi.
"I didn't mean to hold you tightly, Feng Shi, you believe me right? It was an accident. I was just hurt because of what you said" Feng Hua immediately recuperated and tried to salvage the situation while warning her with her eyes that if she doesn't play along, Feng Hua would make sure she pays for it but Feng Shi would not let her.
One of her mistakes in the past was giving her enemy ample time to recuperate her losses and almost losing herself.
"But it's the truth, isn't it? You never treated me as a sister, so why are you trying to pretend now? All you've ever done is use me to vent your frustration when people remind you that you and your brother were born because of an affair" Feng Shi innocently complained.
Honestly, Feng Shi has no hatred towards illegitimate children since they did not choose their parents, they did not choose to be born out of an affair. However, it was Feng Hai and her brother who closed to treat the previous host badly. They chose to abuse the previous Feng Shi. And for that, she cannot be blamed for giving them their due.
Feng Hai needs to learn, to understand that Feng Shi is not the previous Feng Shi. Well, not exactly learn that she is a different soul but that she is not a soft persimmon but a sharp diamond.
"They hurt you?'' Cheng Xiu gritted, affirming his previous suspicions.
Feng Shi's eyes widened as if realizing what she had just let others know.
"Feng Shi! How could you say that? My mother and I treated you like our family" Feng Hua exclaimed in indignance, secretly gritting her teeth. This brat needs to learn her place.
"I think I've heard enough. I will apologize to our adviser personally but I think that someone else should be your guide, miss Feng Hai" Cheng Xiu coldly stated making Feng hai shiver at the look in his eyes. It was like she was staying in the eyes of the God of death, ready to bear his fangs and shred her to pieces.
"No, no. It's not like that! Feng Shi how could you let others misunderstand me!" Feng Hai cried, tears streaming out from her face before running away in tears.
"I knew that that girl was trouble the first time I saw her"
"I know right? She looks so fake"
"What do you expect from the daughter of a harlot?'
"I can't believe that they have the heart to even hurt the child of the first wife when they are just occupying a stolen home"
"Poor Feng Shi, I could never have guessed"

Feng Shi listened to others scold Feng Shi happily while tightly gripping Cheng Xiu with her head down.
"Why didn't you tell us?'' Cheng Xiu skied softly, combing her hair.
Feng Shi was glad to see her friends' concern before assuring them that she is fine now.
Her friends did not let this go through and treated her even more gently than before.
However, amidst the drama, no one noticed someone from the side watching the drama unfold with a way too amused look before gazing at Feng Shi deeply with interest.
