Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Investigation
Lee was on a computer in his office, looking at multiple pages of the Fazbear business, history of William Afton and anything about Rachel.
Ray opened the door, carrying two coffees, placing one down in front of Lee's hand.
"How is Charles?" Lee asked, not taking his eyes off his monitor.
"He's doing okay, we have a doctor watching over him. Says he's in a shell shocked state, might take a while for him to recover" Ray explained as he sat in a chair in front of Lee's desk, taking a sip of his coffee.
Lee leaned back in his seat, hand rubbing his grayish beard, looking at the screen deep in thought.
Ray noticed and leaned forward.
"Anything?"
"Huh? Oh, well I've been searching through all this and I've come up with something that just… it disturbs me"
Lee sighed, picking up his coffee and taking a sip.
"What's that?" Ray straightened in his seat.
"Rachel's mother is Vanessa, she was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after she gave birth to her daughter. She admitted that she was Vanny and that she kidnapped many kids to resurrect William. That fucker doesn't know how to stay dead" Lee stopped and looked at Ray.
"You mentioned William before. I looked into files on him, fucked up stuff. Apparently his eldest kid, Michael and his old friend Henry melted him" Ray said to Lee, who already knew.
"I know that, I knew Henry. He's an old, old friend, I met him when I was looking for work, I was 23 when I met him. We grew a bond then he told me everything he knew about William Afton. Later he told me that Michael Afton wanted to trap his own father and sister, Elizabeth Afton, in the fake building, can't remember the name. Long story short, Michael was already dead, possessing his own corpse, he wanted to go with his family" Ray just sat and listened.
"How does Vanessa fit into this?" Ray grew curious about her.
"Her name is Vanessa Afton and her daughter is Rachel Afton. Rachel, from what I gathered, was a special case.
Rachel was born, coincidentally on October 31st at Devere Park Hospital. Rachel has no known father but Vanessa says that Glitchtrap, a digital form of William, gave life to Rachel which is weird as all hell. School reports say that Rachel had symptoms of a split personality, obviously Glitchtrap, but she only showed her other personality when she was in the presence of any animatronics" Lee stopped to take a breath.
Ray was astounded at what just heard but had a startling realization.
"Wait, so Rachel is William's granddaughter, William died in a springlock suit and possessed it, his family could do that as well so Rachel could be…" He trailed off as he remembered what he saw last night.
"I assume it's Rachel and she's not very happy. Something happened to her and she, most likely possessed the nearest animatronic but I'm wondering how" Ray was obviously disturbed that he almost came face to face with the Fazbear Murderer's granddaughter.
"Henry mentioned that William used something to have children possess animatronics, I don't remember the name" Lee leaned back in his chair again as Ray was freaking out.
"We need to call the National Guard or SWAT Teams and the FBI! They need to see that thing in that building! Like, no one is safe in this town!" Ray was pacing back and forth in the office.
"Ray, sit down and shut the fuck up, I'm trying to think" Lee shouted at Ray, making the frantic man quiet and sit down.
"What's there to think about?" Ray asked Lee, sounding desperate.
"She's been there for 6 years, if there were any reports of a killer animatronic in town, I would have known, the entire town would know" Lee stated as Ray calmed down after hearing that.
"Why did she attack? Also she killed a person as well, if you don't remember" Ray took a mouthful of his coffee.
"I covered Dominic's death as a bear attack and that we have a few rangers looking in the forest, I sent my condolences to his family and returned his van to them, I paid for the funeral arrangements as well so no one suspects a thing. Also she probably attacked us and Dominic because she was confused or something, that area of my knowledge is a bit off" Lee explained to Ray as he took another sip of coffee, looking at the computer screen.
"Why? Shouldn't you tell the truth?" Ray had his arms crossed and bounced his right leg with the front half of his foot.
"If I did, it'd either cause a panic or worse, I'd be getting a visit from the Fazbear Entertainment Company which could possibly lead William here. I made a promise to Vanessa that I'd keep Rachel safe. Obviously I fucking failed" Lee said as he typed on his keyboard, Ray's eyes darting to his fingers.
"If you want to know, I'm sending an email to Henry about our situation" Lee said more calmly this time as he grabbed his mouse and sent the email.
Lee opened his drawer and took out Charles's camera, he plugged it into the computer, the camera turned on and was charging. Ray moved the chair over to sit next to Lee to see the monitor screen.
Lee hovered the mouse icon over a single video file that ran for only a few minutes.
Lee opened it and watched it with Ray.
The camera was switched on, looking down at a pair of shoes that weren't Charles's shoes.
"Okay, I'm finally at the location, this is Fazbear Frights" a female voice said as she then went inside, using a flashlight to navigate.
"Must be Rachel, it was her camera Charles found" Lee said as the video continued.
"It's dark and musty in here, this place has been abandoned for years" Rachel said as she moved a bit of debris out of the way, making her way deeper into the attraction.
Lee skips a bit forward and plays the video.
Rachel was in a panic as she desperately tried to hide from something, she ran into a room and drooped the camera near her, only getting a view of the things legs. The thing looked to be another animatronic, Lee's eyes went wide as he noticed the decaying flesh within the suit.
It was William.
Rachel screamed and cried as William picked up a piece of metal, Lee wanted to turn away but couldn't as he watched William hold her by the throat and slowly drive the piece of metal into her chest, her screams and crying slowly went silent and she looked at the camera, Lee saw the life fade from her eyes as William stood up straight and left. Lee felt a tear run down his face, seeing William kill his granddaughter almost broke him. The camera glitched out for a few seconds. The screen was still showing Rachel's body but something else was happening,
William came back but he had something.
Lee couldn't make it out because William placed it in the dark next to Rachel, William turned and left again.
Something in the dark, next to her body was moving, it was her as the animatronic. As it moved near the camera, Lee saw that the animatronic was a white wolf but the movements were rough, almost like she was in pain and forced each limb to move how she wanted.
She still didn't have any eyes for the animatronic suit so she couldn't see but as she got up to her feet, she clawed into the wall as she stared at her own dead body.
Lee understood why she killed and attacked now, she wasn't confused or scared like he originally thought. She came back out of rage and hatred towards her grandfather. She didn't leave the attraction because she grew accustomed to the entire building in her blind state, Lee understood that once she got functioning eyes, she would most likely leave to find William.
"Ray, I'm going to need you to stay here and take care of yourself and Charles" Lee said as he stood up and grabbed his jacket.
"Please don't tell me you're going back" Ray said as Lee looked at him.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't, I need to see her" Lee said as he left the office and walked out of the station and to his car. He started the engine and drove off but he had to make a small stop first.
Lee pulled into the parking lot of the attraction, stepping out of the car with the shotgun, just in case things went south.
Lee walked over to the entrance and turned his flashlight on, even though it was a bright day, the inside of the attraction was dark.
He took a step inside and walked through the hallways, being as quiet as he could. He turned a corner to another hallway to hear the sound of mechanical breathing, aiming his light into the room, he saw her.
Rachel was crouched on the floor in front of her corpse, her animatronic eyelids were closed like she was sleeping, probably her way of passing time. Lee breathed in and whispered "Rachel?"
The animatronic's eyelids opened as she stood up, towering over Lee, before he could say anything else.
She grabbed him by the throat.
