As much as the Phenex clan devils came here for blood, at least in Riser's case as she was clearly here to break and kill me as she doubted I would actually turn her back. Which was a lie as I already promised to do so if the Phenex clan brought some materials from Ddraig and Albion's original bodies... But it seemed they rather go the direct route.
But there was just one slight issue with their plans. I had spent the last week making this jungle as hostile as possible to the point I had no doubt Sirzechs and the other Maou were going to need to wall off this section of the Underworld due to how dangerous, lethal, and virulent the lifeforms were in their reproduction.
One of the very first things we did to boost the fauna and flora of the jungle was giving them all magic resistance, elemental, and more particularly heat resistance... And for all, they touted and yelled that Phenex flames were the most potent flames in the Underworld. But in the end, they were just stupidly high-temperature flames and not some divine or conceptual flames.
The Phenex Patriarch and Riser being only high-class devils didn't last more than three minutes under the literal tidal wave of angry lifeforms intent upon tearing them apart and the younger male Phenex I recognized vaguely as one of Riser's more accomplished older brothers who I think was the one with the television station as the one who was the Ultimate class high-level rating game champion would have lasted longer than ten minutes before being torn apart.
Oh, but I didn't kill them... Just yet anyway, no I had Kii use her magic sealing and sapping vines to bind their bodies together and bring their trussed-up nude forms as the monsters and other beings had literally eaten them down to hunks of flesh including their clothes before they could regenerate with their Phenex flames.
"You know... For as much as I desire to kill you and put you out of your misery, maybe I should inherit some of the cruelty in curses from my fiancee?" I said coldly with a razor-sharp smile as I sat down on the wide back of a ten-meter-long gator that was carrying me to the site where the Phenex trio were trussed up and pulled deep underground into one of the caves I had Kii open up while we were here that was well lit with bioluminescent moss that lined the walls.
At my words, the older brother shuddered and I saw his eyes flicker to his 'sister' and I snorted at that. "Oh, are you afraid to lose the little pecker between your legs and become so much more popular for your television network? I mean a good set of tits can make you all the rage of the Underworld media?" I raised my hands as though holding up a sign as I spoke dramatically. "Imagine it!" I said breathlessly barely holding in a mad giggle at the thought. "The Phenex spare heir comes to work with a new pair of knockers putting all others to shame!"
Ah, there was the fear I was looking for, and now he was screaming into the vine gag that was pushed into his mouth so I didn't have to hear their screams, threats, and other nonsense. So with the tone set, I looked to the patriarch and the vine retreated from his mouth allowing his jaw to close from its comically forced open position. "So tell me how the Maou was sealed away and I won't encase you in biological concrete and make you into the immortal breeding sow for this jungle of horrors which would include insects and many other beings with... Violent and disturbing mating practices." I said with a bit of honest revulsion in my voice at such a fate.
The Phenex Patriarch eyed me coldly for a few seconds as he took in my threat before he scoffed and closed his eyes to take a breath. Then once he took his steadying breath he opened his eyes and wore a weak smile as he spoke. "It was during the yearly Devils War Meeting to discuss our status in the Great War that as you know has gone cold." He explained and I nodded and he continued. "The meeting which has members of all the surviving Devil Clans in good standing were approached by members of Khoas Brigade and in order for them to do what they needed in Devil territory they needed the Maou out of the way."
My fist clenched as I silently bit my lip as I realized what had happened. The fucking Great King Faction of the old devils with too much damned political power who hated the Maou who would kill them for their games decided to get rid of them...
"The Greek god who is in charge of Pandora's box, Hades used his own power along with the power of all the heads of the clans who agreed to help, to seal the three Maou except for Serafall Leviathan who was able to escape when Sirzechs took on his true form of Power of Destruction before he could be sealed." The man shook his head shivering and I realized he was rightfully terrified of what he had seen in the form of Sirzechs realized form of conceptual destruction.
I basically had the picture of what had happened now... Now I needed to deal with these three. I walked over and even as the older brother of Riser screamed I screamed in fear I scanned him and shuffled around my own Phenex bloodline with how he was stronger than Riser's and likewise I did the same to the Phenex clan patriarch and looking at his bloodline and I realized the man literally barely even had the fucking bloodline of their devil clan. "How did you even marry into the Phenex clan honestly?" I muttered bewilderedly before shrugging and I took a breath as the Patriarch went limp. I flipped the switch and with a force of will with the Sepiroth Grall, he was dead.
I had enough creations that I could adore and I didn't want to taint my adoration and care of the creations I already had, with beings I truly didn't like. I found no joy in the thought of torturing them and I had no interest in breaking them into a pet of my own... So with them having no value and being clearly an enemy I dealt with the last two with Riser not screaming like her brother as I approached, but there was no mistaking the mad hatred within her eyes as I snuffed out her soul finally getting rid of that light of hatred within her eyes as they went dull.
"Artemis, it's time to go back to Earth," I said taking a breath. "I need to see if my friends are still alright or if they are somewhere in hiding in the Underworld or something," I said frowning as I hoped that Rias and my creations were fine in Kuoh, but if the devil's regime had been changed... I had a sickening feeling the Gremory household in the Underworld was likely a warzone at this moment.
