Chapter 18: Wild Imaginations
'How exactly do you 'lure' a boy?...', Goldie wonders.
Big question.
How could Goldie lure a boy?... and not just any boy.
How could she lure Ryan Muller?
How could she change his opinion about her from afar?
How could she make him fall for her? ...even after what happened this morning.
Goldie places a finger on her bottom lip deep in thought, her large hazel pupils full of naivety and cluelessness.
'Perhaps by dressing cute and acting cute?…'
Her mind swiftly travels to a 'hot' scene from a funny anime she had been watching recently, where a girl was trying to win her crush's love by seducing him.
'Perhaps by acting like that?...'
Her mind burns out and her face instantly flushes red as she imagines wearing cat ears and sitting like that on Ryan's desk!…in front of Ryan!... and…
"gasp!"
'No! Hxll No, she couldn't!!'
"I can't, Jasmine! I can't lure him!", responds Goldie, in a sudden troubled outburst as she throws herself onto Jasmine's shoulder again, in defeat.
How was she supposed to lure Ryan? To seduce him? Even just thinking about it, it was too overwhelming.
She was completely clueless about how to be sexy and hot, and how to seduce anyone.
"Hahaha!… What were you thinking of, Goldie? Your face is all red! Haha…"
Jasmine laughs at Goldie's hilarious distress. She really was too cute.
"No- Nothing!", exclaims Goldie, embarrassed.
"Nothing?...", Jasmine's smile widens and her eyes narrow mischievously.
"Your expression just now looked about right.
You can lure him if you do just that! Haha!", she smirks teasingly, raising her eyebrows at Goldie twice before she breaks out in laughter.
Goldie was way too easy to read. Her emotions were always so evident on her face. Jasmine couldn't help but tease her.
"Ah, don't! I- I said it was nothing…", Goldie insists, blushing even redder in the face.
"Hahaha!...", Jasmine cackles in laughter, enjoying Goldie's reaction.
"Mhm…", responds Jasmine with a smirk and a narrowed, sassy, teasing gaze.
"Do 'nothing', then."
'Do what? Sit on Ryan's desk and…', the more Goldie imagines it, the more she panics.
"Ah, I could never do that…", responds Goldie.
"Oh, but I thought you said it was nothing. Hahaha!", responds Jasmine, dying of laughter.
Goldie was far too gullible.
"Ah!",
Goldie cracks in shock when she realises she had just admitted to thinking what she was thinking.
"Goldie, there is nothing wrong with wanting to… vgjhbbfhjnkkbjgf and… adgggjjbffghjvhjhggh Ryan.
It's natural. Hahaha!", begins Jasmine.
"Grab him by the tie… pull him in for a…"
"Stop! Stop!", calls Goldie, thoroughly embarrassed, as she instantly covers Jasmine's mouth with her hands to prevent her from saying the things from the funny anime she and Jasmine had watched together out loud, to the hearing of other students around.
"Jasmine! There are people around!", she says in a panic, looking around, while Jasmine just dies from laughter.
"... Ha… haha…", Jasmine's muffled laughter spills when Goldie finally lets go.
"But I'm right though. There's nothing wrong with that. It's only natural when you like someone, to want to do stuff like that.
Besides, I highly recommend it! Hah!"
Jasmine laughs again. It was too funny, she couldn't help herself.
"I'm serious, Jasmine!... Help me out here!", Goldie whines, embarrassed.
"You already know how I can't even speak to Ryan or even go anywhere near him willingly.
I get too nervous. And I don't even know what Ryan likes in a girl.
I don't know how to make Ryan fall for me or even just like me…"
"But I'm serious too!... Haha!", says Jasmine, dying of laughter.
But she is soon forced to stop when she sees Goldie looking at her pointedly with puffy cheeks.
The girl was really feeling frustrated. She looked cute, but yeah, frustrated.
She actually didn't know what to do!
"Okay, okay.", responds Jasmine, trying to control her laughter.
She had teased the girl enough.
"If it's about what Ryan likes in a girl, no one knows that, Goldie.
Ryan is just like an alien. He doesn't even seem to like any girls at all."
Jasmine explains in a more serious tone before trailing off as a new realisation hits her.
"Come to think of it, I've never seen him talking to girls without being compelled to..."
Jasmine raises her finger to her bottom lip, deep in thought.
"So there's no hope?", calls Goldie's troubled heart.
"He'll just think I'm a weirdo forever?...", she asks, bringing Jasmine back from her brief reverie.
If Goldie couldn't change Ryan's opinion of her, then for sure it was over. She would never be able to win his heart.
All her love will forever remain unrequited!
"No, no…", Jasmine responds, shaking her head.
"There is hope. Because this is a situation that can very easily be managed.
Ryan must like what other boys like- …except he's gay or something!"
Goldie raises her head instantly to gaze at Jasmine with speechless shock written all over her face as she had never really considered that Ryan could be gay.
"What?!!", she questions in alarm.
"Is Ryan gay?!!"
"What? No- Hahaha!… I'm just kidding, haha…", responds Jasmine bursting out in a hilarious chuckle.
"He should like girls… Let's hope he likes girls."
Jasmine smiles nervously, giving a non-factual reply to ease Goldie's worries.
"Let's just hope he's not gay."
Jasmine was right.
In truth, no one could tell Ryan's sexuality since he had shown no special interest in anyone at school.
Not until Goldie, of course.
Goldie knew well that Ryan was uninterested in any girls. She had also seen just that morning how he blatantly and cruelly rejected the cute girl with straight, black hair.
Any other guy would be moved by such a pretty girl confessing her feelings, but not Ryan. It made no sense.
However, if Ryan was gay, that would explain everything. It would explain the series of rejections, and why he was rarely found talking with any girls except compelled to.
At the moment, in Goldie's mind, Ryan seemed totally gay all of a sudden.
"Ughh…", Goldie moans, pulling onto her hair as she slumps onto the table.
If Ryan was gay and liked only boys, then it was over.
Because… How could she ever be with him??
