Chapter 2: Power
Sentry was said to have the power of a million exploding suns. In order to have that kind of energy, the amount of heat that is emitted could burn the entire planet several times over. In order for the serum to work, it had to change the body of the host into a most habitable recipient. It had to rewrite his DNA for no normal human would be able to hold the power it was giving. So, Ben found out first hand that seeing it on a comic page and feeling it first hand were two very different experiences.
He felt like his entire body was on fire starting from his heart! The pain was so much he could not even groan in pain let alone writhe around. His mother put a hand on his forehead before a sizzling sound of flesh been burnt was heard followed by her yelping in pain and shirking her hand away.
"Honey, you are burning up!" she said in horror.
'No shit, Sherlock!' Ben cursed at her 'observation'. 'I have to endure to the end! I cannot die without becoming Sentry, that is truly unacceptable! The ability to finally turn myself into a buff hero is at my fingertips, I will not lose it!'
'Honey, hang on, we're nearly there,' his mother tried to comfort him. Smoke was starting to come out of his skin and along with it an unpleasant burnt ordor. Ben gritted his teeth as the pain increased a hundred fold! His consciousness was on the tether ends, ready to be lost at any time. He could hear his mother yelling at him but he did not register it.
'You cannot lose consciousness now! Think of your best moments! Think of something...someone to help you keep your consciousness. Once it's gone, you are dead!' Ben shouted to himself as his mind started racing.
'Keep fighting, husbando!' a familiar less emotional voice said, making his eyes snap wide open. He saw Mikasa in a two piece, laced bikini smiling at him as lights passed as a blur above him. 'You are so close to having the power of bringing me to live, so close. You have to fight for out love!' Those words were all a Mikasa simp like himself needed.
'I WILL NOT FAIL! FOR MY 2D WAIFU!' he screamt in his head, not at all realizing how cringe he sounded, before his consciousness started returning.

Tessa was nearly having a nervous breakdown as she watched her son twitch non stop while strapped onto the co-driver's seat by the seatbelt. She was a single mother so her entire life revolved all around him. Everything she did was to make sure he had the best she could offer. To see him suffering like this made her heart wrench. She tried to take check his fever's temperature with her hand but the weirdest thing happened, she felt her skin get burnt as soon as she touched his forehead.
"Owww!" she yelped in pain, taking her hand off her. 'Did he just burn me?! What's going on?'
"Honey, you're burning up!" she said in fear. This kind of condition would prove very much fatal to him if he doesn't stop burning up so much. However, she was distracted by how his eyes rolled sarcastically under his eyelids.
'Is he cursing at me?' she thought a little irritated. Good thing there were two blocks from the hospital, she forgot about it soon. She parked at the ambulance bay and jumped out of the car in distress.
"Help me, my son is having a strange fever!" she yelled as she ran to the co-driver's door and opened it for Ben. The seat belt had been melted off him and so was his clothes and now the leather seat was taking the full brunt of his fever. With no regards to her life, Tessa lifted him, her skin sizzling and burning with little to no whimper of pain on her part, and she rushed inside the ER.
"Help me, please," she shouted as she burst in. Four nurses and a doctor were on their way with a gurney stopped her before trying to pick up Ben only to have their dose of been burnt so she put him in the garnet, exposing her burn wounds which were still sizzling.
"Take the boy to the exemination room and have a doctor look at her wounds!" the doctor shouted instructions before pushing the garney with Ben on away.
"No, I'm not going away till my boy is fine!" Tessa screamt as she tried to follow only to be tackled by a male nurse.
"Ma'am, your son will be alright. In the meantime, we need to take care of your wounds," he tried to compose her but Tessa was having none of it. She became especially hysterical once the gurney disappeared past a double door.
"BEEEN!" she screamt in anguish.
Suddenly, a silent explosion of light was emminated from behind the double doors that temporarily blinded everyone as the shockwave threw everyone to the ground! The doors were obliterated to nothing and Tessa saw Ben slowly been lifted from the gurney, bathed in a cloud of light.
His body was corroded away by the light before a brand new body was slowly formed. From the nerves system to blood vessels, skeleton, inner organs, muscles, skin and hair, which had not turned blonde instead of the original black hair. It was longer too, reaching his shoulder. She also noticed that he now had toned muscles with an exaggerated ten abdominal muscles adorning his abdomen. When he opened his eyes, she felt a kind of majesty she only fantasized to belong to God. His eyes had turned golden too and when they turned to look at her, she felt insignificant all of a sudden.
'Is this the power of a god?!' she thought to herself in fright.
The next moment, however, made her realize that this was her son for the light surrounding him disappeared and he fell from the air, butt first, in such a ungraceful way it erased her previous thoughts!
