Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Three more!

When everything was prepared, Malia and the others took their places inside the main recording area, which was divided from the other people in the room by only a glass.

Sean was outside the glass partition while Malia and the group observed him. Sean has already informed them that they will begin following the countdown at three.

3—2—1…

The piano and guitar stums started playing…then Malia started singing.

"There I was ---

Forcing laughter ---

---

"Please --- love with someone else

Please don't have --- waiting on you…"

The song came to a close, and the music ceased. They followed the instructions and kept quiet for ten seconds. Sean signaled, and everyone yelled with delight!

"One shot! It's really unbelievable!"

"I'd like to cry!"

"My legs are shaking; I can't stand up anymore."

Everyone was compelled to voice their feelings, while the crowd outside was clapping and yelling praises pretty loudly.

Malia remained silent but gave everyone a charming smile. She then went outside the glass partition, and her mom and dad hugged her.

The Marchioness patted Malia's hair after the hug, "We are so proud of you, dear." Her father and brother were patting her on the back and smiling while observing her.

"You guys did well!" Sean complimented everyone who performed alongside Malia. They were proud of themselves as well.

"Could I record one more song, Dad? and two more piano pieces? I am aware that single-song vinyl albums will often sell less. I want to guarantee that this initial release will boost our revenue." Malia explained.

"Are you sure? Are you planning to use the two piano compositions you performed at home? Would you need extra time to rehearse the other song with accompaniment?", The Marquis asked curiously. Malia was right, it would be challenging to compete with comparable vinyl records that include three to four tracks on each side. Malia gave this some consideration.

The Marquis was at first certain that the song would sell well on its own, but he soon realized that the potential revenue from the addition of other songs would be huge.

"No, father, I've got some additional piano pieces up my sleeves. As for the other song, it's best with a music ensemble, but basic guitar strumming is enough. Believe me, it would still come out good." Malia said confidently.

"Okay, you have my trust. Sean, could you kindly get things ready for Malia, she will play two new piano pieces to add to the track." Sean hastily made all the necessary preparations.

Some were looking rather doubtful that she could add or perform more songs impromptu. However, most of them already have an image of a genius in their mind and they started to believe in Malia with all their heart.

After ensuring that everything was prepared, Malia took a seat in front of the piano and told Sean that she would signal when she was ready. She began by humming the tune before attempting a culmination of several different tones, each played one after the other.

After a little while, she signaled that she was ready. Everyone in the room was elated when she began to play. The sensation was very wonderful. They put all other thoughts aside and concentrated solely on her performance.

What other piece would she perform aside from the well-known, classical, and highly praised Moonlight Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven?

Beethoven is widely considered one of the greatest composers of all time, which is an amazing feat considering he wrote a lot of his work while partially deaf.

The original title of Moonlight Sonata was "Almost a Fantasy," and it is a soft, peaceful piece with a dreamlike quality. It is also the subject of some discussion among contemporary pianists regarding how to use the pedals to play it. When chords change, Beethoven's directions can sound dissonant when performed with a contemporary sustain pedal. Malia could only express her gratitude for how well the piano suited the piano composition.

Malia allowed herself to immerse herself in the process. Beethoven's triplet pattern, which runs continuously throughout the entire piece, is what is known as a rhythmic ostinato. As a result, the composition has a "rolling" quality; it appears to be swaying back and forth— giving off the impression of floating on the ocean waves while sleeping.

There are 201 measures in Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata and Malia took fifteen minutes to finish it while playing it at the standard tempo.

Everyone listening had that magical feeling like they were witnessing pure genius, as Malia unfolded it note by note, they were completely blown away by the brilliant harmonies.

Malia finished it, paused for ten seconds, then got to her feet.

"I'm going to rehearse the second piano piece, Sean, if everything is ready simply tap the glass."

"R-right away?" Sean cannot believe it. He pinched his thighs to make sure that everything was real and it was happening right in front of his eyes. He could only thank the heavens and the Marquis for choosing him as one of the employees to stay in the company.

"Yep!" Malia answered confidently.

Everybody remained in a daze. They weren't fully awake until Malia began talking.

Malia relaxed while working on the second piano piece. There are dozens or perhaps hundreds of excellent old classical piano pieces, so she can't choose right away.

'The second piano piece should be as dreamlike or fantastical just like Moonlight Sonata. Hmm…dreamlike, dream... DREAM OF LOVE!' Malia suddenly remembered Liebestraum No. 3 by Franz Liszt.

Liebestraum is a slow meaningful romance piece. This work was written by Liszt with the intention of appealing to as well as inspiring adoration in the audience.

Since Malia decided what piece to perform, she gave her signal and Sean began the countdown.

Malia starts playing a new, melodious tune in a matter of seconds. It fluctuated between being slow and rapid causing the listeners to feel a variety of emotions.

The gentle beat of this work imparts a calming tone, color, and mood throughout. Even though it moves extremely slowly, the love and passion it conveys are quite audible and apparent. This song's emotional content creates a dramatic atmosphere.

By having only, the piano performs without any vocalists, it is possible for everyone in the room to appreciate the instrument and add to the mood and melody.

The physicality of love is the subject of this piece or song, which explores how, while being the "lowest" form of love, physicality may open doors to the ultimate forms—heaven, death, or infinite, and this caused the listeners in the room to feel a range of emotions regarding the piece.

Malia only performed it in less than 5 minutes which made everyone in the room wanting for more.

After waiting 10 seconds, Malia spoke again to Sean, "Sean, I'll be switching to guitars, I want all the sound coming from it to be focused."

As a thoughtful brother, Matthew offered to give Malia some water and treats. "Are you certain you're not exerting yourself excessively? Those pieces, by the way, were great! I am so excited to brag that you are my sister!"

Malia blushed and restrained herself from gazing into her brother's brilliant blue eyes.

"I'm good. Thanks for the sweets. I must concentrate on the next song, so leave now." Malia shooed her brother away.

'Now what should I add to this track?' Malia actually came up with three songs that would sound nice even if they were only played on a guitar. On Earth, a singer by the name of Kina Grannis served as the source of inspiration. After some time, Malia selected the song she wanted to play, gave the signal, and awaited Sean to begin the countdown.

Malia began to play the guitar and sang one of her favorite songs…

"Look at the stars

Look --- shine for you

--- everything you do

Yeah, they --- yellow

I came along

I wrote a song ---

And -- the things you do

And --- called Yellow

So, then I -- turn

Oh, what a thing --- done, and it was all yellow

Your skin, oh yeah, your --- bones

Turn into --- beautiful

And you know, --- I love you so

You --- I love you so

I swam across, I jumped across ---

Oh, what --- to do, Cause you --- all yellow

I drew a line, I drew --- for you

Oh, what --- to do, and it was --- yellow

And your skin, oh yeah, --- and bones

Turn into --- beautiful

And you know, for you, I'd bleed --- dry

For you, I'd --- myself dry

It's true…

Look how they shine --- you

Look how --- shine for you

Look --- they shine for

Look how they --- for you

Look how they shine --- you

Look --- they shine

Look at --- stars

Look --- they shine for you

And all the --- that you do…"

Malia's sorrowful voice echoed before abruptly stopping to play.

She eventually hears nothing but the sobbing of the people outside. The men are all trying to hold back their tears, but in actuality, they all want to express themselves like the females in the room.

Malia only let out a resounding sigh of relief.
