Chapter 2: Chapter 1

In a large forest covered by thick trees, a small wooden cabin basked in the sun.

"AHHH"

A strong shout echoed through the forest.

"Why are you yelling so scarily in the morning?" An older man sitting in the living room yelled back.

"Why didn't you wake me up? I'm late and it's my first day," a small girl with long jet-black hair ran into the living room angrily.

"It's not my job, it's yours," the man shrugged lazily.

"Ugh" the girl didn't have time to argue, so she ran to get ready. Amazingly, she dashed out of the house ready within a couple of minutes.

As she was running, she bit her lip in frustration. This was the first job she got after numerous tries.

"I can't be late."

Suddenly, the girl looked around carefully. 'It's fine as long as I don't get caught.' A light yellow hue surrounded her irises. Similarly, her feet began to glow too, and the girl ran at an explosive speed. The girl grinned internally, brimming with confidence.

"WHY ARE YOU LATE ON YOUR FIRST DAY KID," spit flew onto the girl's forehead. She quickly lowered her head and rubbed furiously in disgust. The manager's face was red with anger.

The girl clicked her teeth. She stopped on her way to help an old man she saw struggling with heavy groceries.

'There's no way this guy would care though.' She gave up on explaining and instead apologized.

"I'm sorry manager, what can I do to make it up," she clasped her hands together and put on her best puppy expression while puffing her bottom lip.

"Of course, you must do double your work now," the manager snickered in her face. The girl's shoulders dropped in bewilderment.

***

The girl cursed her manager as she put her stuff in a tiny locker and got dressed.

"He's lucky I didn't report this dump yet," the girl murmured angrily as she looked at the rusty pipes, moldy walls, and loose screws on her locker door.

The girl went upstairs and sat at her worn-out tiny desk to work. She was already given short instructions on how to work the machines.

A little later, she heard snickering and muffled laughter behind her. Like usual, she ignored it, but suddenly something hit the back of her head.

THUD

The girl itched the back of her head and slowly turned towards the girls who were laughing louder. She looked down and saw a heavy manual book at her feet.

"That hurt," the girl's eye flashed yellow but quickly went away.

"And... what are you going to do about it," a high-pitched voice chuckled.

A snobby girl wearing a shiny and lavish dress walked forward. She snickered as she looked back to her entourage.

The girl quickly dropped her cold stare in defeat and returned to work.

"It stinks in here because of you." The snobby girl burst into laughter at her joke, and her entourage similarly followed. The snobby girl looked over and saw the girl still working without a pause. Her smile dropped.

She grabbed the girl's shoulder.

"Hey, listen when-"

THUD

The girl suddenly got up and threw the snobby girl onto the floor, her back sprawled out on the ground.

"Don't touch me," the girl coldly said. The snobby girl cried in agony before she quickly got back up.

"Y-you peasant," she spat harshly "I am the manager's daughter, Leah Bulfom."

'Ah-' the girl slapped her forehead.

___

The girl walked back home within only a couple of hours of being there.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH"

She dropped her bag and roared in anger. Luckily, she was on an empty road.

'Ugh a headache,' she gripped her head. A flurry of anger assaulted her, but there was no way to alleviate her frustration.

"I am hopeless, huh?"

Suddenly, the sunny clear blue sky darkened as large black clouds covered the entire area. Heavy droplets of rain fell on top of her.

"Haha, even Mother Nature mocks me," she let out a pathetic chuckle.

"It was my fault," she plopped down on a slab of stone on the corner of the road. Tears welled up in her eyes. "I shouldn't let my emotions control me. That's what dad always tells me," she couldn't hold back as she quietly sobbed.

"You are correct. I did say that!" The girl looked up and saw her father standing over her with an umbrella.

"But I do not recall saying you should cry in the cold rain," his light olive eyes smiled widely at the girl. His bright blonde hair shined even in the rain. "I knew I heard my precious daughter's bloody scream"

The girl smiled sweetly at her father, but she quickly frowned. She lightly punched him on the side of his leg at his foul remark.

She quickly hid her head between her legs.

"Dad, I'm pathetic, aren't I? You never break your smile even when people insult us, but I always cause trouble though." The girl stared straight ahead with empty eyes.

"I think it's beautiful," the father sighed as sat next to his daughter.

"Even though it causes you so much pain you always choose to fight back and protect who you love. Your emotions are your strongest characteristic, so you should never regret it," he smiled and caressed her head.

He lightly lifted his hands and stared outward too.

"But I'll be honest with you. I too feel similar frustrations, but you must learn to control it, and pay back those who wronged a hundred times." He said smiling sweetly
