Chapter 2: The Meeting Draws Near.
The second I exited my home I looked ahead of me before taking a deep breath for the journey that is to come ahead of me. As I walked down the steps getting further and further away from my little cottage that housed the previous Cyrus. I sighed before continuing my journey into the great city of Ecbatana.
'This might be a good time to properly sightsee the city' I Thought to myself growing a unknowing smile on my face as I will be the first person to from my era to see the great cities of the ancient world. The time humanity spread its wings and became the rulers of Earth. Traveling far and wide, Sailing vast oceans to bring glory and wealth to their countries.
'And I get to might get the opportunity to be involved in all this' I kept on thinking of my possible future not realising I was already entering the great city.
"Young Boy halt! May I know you name and reasons to enter this city" I heard a loud boom of a voice ahead of me. Causing me to stumble before I was able to regain my bearings.
" I was told to meet the Great King and I have a letter to prove it." I replied to the man. "Very well, Show me the letter and I will let you be on your way."
I quickly searched for the letter in my pockets and when I found it I handed it to him to see. The man grabbed the letter with a quick snatch and gave it a quick look up and down.
"I see. Well it seems to be correct as it has the stamp. Very well you may enter." He said while handing my letter back to me which I took quickly and walked inside as I was getting to excited to see the magnificent city. As I looked around it was unbelievable the city was built so large it would seem to have been impossible to have been built and the culture that surrounded the city as I strolled through the city. The walls of houses were painted different colours with various different dyes. The market stalls all lined up creating what would seem to be like a primitive supermarket or any other Asian markets that you find in the middle of a parking lot. The bartering of the people, the people trying their hardest to sell their products to earn a living for them and their families.

'King Of The Medes. King Astyages POV'
"My king, you must wake up the person you requested to meet will be arriving soon." My trusted advisor said to me.
"Allow me to rest my head Harpagus. I have been having a terribly rough day today." "All these meetings are not allowing me to enjoy myself." I said with a lace of venom if I could I would not even bother with these meetings and focus on allowing me to enjoy myself with luxuries.
"My King these meetings are important if you wish to keep your realms stable." Harpagus told me.
"Harpagus have a servant bring me some food. I am awfully hungry today." I beckoned Harpagus
"Of Course my king." Harpagus quickly left with me hearing a few shouts coming from him.
As I rested my elbows on my throne overviewing the courtroom. I thought of how I could be torturing the spy we recently caught. 'We could possibly skin him until he speaks about where he came from' I mused over all the different methods we could do. I chuckled imagining all the kinds of torture I could use on the little spy. 'Maybe the dogs would want a taste of him' I thought over again this time the idea getting a chuckle out of me. 'It would be entertaining seeing the man be viciously mauled by the dogs screaming for mercy as I watch from my throne' As I thought more the sleepier I got before eventually yawning and falling asleep on my hand.
2 Hours later
Cyrus' POV
As I arrived in front of the Palace I took a deep breath before drawing nearer to the entrance.
