Chapter 22: Reinette Tinekerr

The next day, in the noon, Alexander heard some loud noises as he was returning from his law school classes.

Looking at the passersby's lack of expression, he guessed that he should have entered a field that only acts on Beyonders.

Realizing that this should be the fight between the two Sequence 5 Beyonders, he didn't even hesitate for a second before using the Red Tyrant and turning into a shadow.

After running some blocks away, a feeling of liberation passed through his body, and he knew that he should have ran out of the field.

Knowing that this was a fight that he most certainly shouldn't participate, he didn't stay but continued walking towards home.

Some minutes later, Alexander opened the door of his home, only for his intuition to send him a warning.

Holding the Distortion token, he put a defensive posture and was ready to distort any incoming attacks.

Suddenly, the figure of a young lady appeared in the room.

She had blonde hair and blue eyes and her mannerisms were similar to that of a puppet.

She was floating some centimeters above the ground, and was holding a black eyeball in her right arm, that was constantly flickering.

The two of them were in a standstill for some seconds, before the young lady spoke first.

"It's you.", the young lady said with some confidence in her voice.

By this time, Alexander had realized that his guest should be a person he was familiar with, the Sequence 5 Wraith Sharron.

"Do we know each other?", Alexander asked, as he didn't have any memory of Sharron in this life.

"We don't."

"But my teacher has been looking for you.", Sharron shook her head and replied, while pointing towards the flickering black eyeball in her hand.

"She wants me to pass this to you.", she said and threw the eyeball towards Alexander.

Alexander reacted quickly and caught it in his hand, putting it in his pocket without looking at it.

Normally, he would have double checked something that a powerful Beyonder gave him, but the eyeball gave him a strange sense of familiarity.

"Is there anything else?", Alexander asked once again.

"No.", Sharron shook her head.

"Me and my friends are currently staying in the Bravehearts Club.", she replied.

Although she didn't say anything else, Alexander knew that she was implying that he could visit them if he ever needed their help, so he proceeded to nod.

Seeing him nodding, Sharron didn't continue the conversation, but instead turned into a Wraith and disappeared.

Even though his intuition stopped giving him warnings, Alexander didn't immediately take the eyeball out, but waited for some minutes.

Making sure that Sharron had left, Alexander sat on the sofa and took the black eyeball out of his pocket.

Looking at it closely, he noticed the similarity between the eyeball in his hand and the eyeball he had seen during his promotion.

By now, the eyeball had stopped flickering, making it easier to see the countless symbols that were squirming on its surface.

As Alexander was going to examine it even further, a silver window appeared again.

[Name: Chaos' Pupil]

[Abilities:]

[Spirit World: Teleports you to an already defined location in the Spirit World.]

[Downsides: N/A.]

[Consumable]

Reading the information, Alexander was shocked to find that the eyeball was an one way ticket for the Spirit World.

He could already make an educated guess about where the "already defined location" is.

Since the eyeball was a gift from Reinette Tinekerr, it would only make sense for it to point to her.

This was the first time since his transmigration that he had come in indirect contact with a powerful Beyonder in reality.

Hoping to get some answers, Alexander didn't dismiss the notion of meeting her, but that didn't mean that he would use an unknown teleportation item.

Instead he thought for some time, before he lit a candle, took a step backwards and chanted.

"I!"

"I summon in my name:"

"The spirit that wanders about the unfounded, the friendly creature with pure motives, the creature with four heads that wishes to communicate."

The way he chose to contact Reinette is simple.

Summon a spirit world creature that wishes to communicate, while also specifying that it should be friendly and have no impure motives.

That means that if Reinette meant any harm to him, she wouldn't be able to respond to the chant.

As for other creatures getting summoned, Alexander felt that if Reinette wanted to communicate with him, she could just beat them back.

Just as he finished chanting, the candle flame shook and started expanding, before a woman was formed out of the flames.

The woman woman wearing a dark gloomy dress, didn't have a head on her neck but instead held two identical blonde heads in each of her hands.

Reinette Tinekerr.

As Alexander was sizing her up, Reinette's eight eyes were also sizing him up.

"As..." "expected..." "it's..." "you..."

Reinette's eyes seem to be looking at him, but at the same time it seemed to be looking at something far away.

"The..." "deal..." "has been..." "completed...", she said and vanished, not giving any time for Alexander to react.
