Chapter 51: The Secretary and Contract Finalization
The next day Kazuya got up earlier than Chizuru. The previous night, she was completely tired out and now didn't even have the strength to get out of bed.
He let his lovely girlfriend rest and got out of bed after kissing her forehead lovingly.
He did his usual morning thing and went to the gym. After coming back, it was time for the morning meeting with Kaguya so Kazuya got ready for that.
He left for the cafe where they were planning to meet. There wasn't any office building for now since his funds weren't that prominent yet, nor did he need a building for now since there wasn't any staff.
When he walked in, he noticed that Kaguya had already taken a seat. There was a sexy-looking blue-eyed blonde sitting beside her. He would've confused her for Mami if not for the fact that she looked much more refined and had long hair that was tied in a side ponytail.
'This must be her secretary that she was talking about.'
He walked up to the two of them who'd noticed his presence.
"Greetings, Shinomiya-san. And I presume Hayasaka-san?" He extended his hand and shook Kaguya's outstretched one. Ai Hayasaka was standing slightly behind her and didn't extend her hand as she was in a subordinate sort-of position.
They all take a seat and Kazuya ordered a coffee for himself.
"So, let's get to business. Here's the contract that I've prepared for you and your secretary. I'll give you the gist of this for now and you can consult with your lawyer for any further"
"I'll be handing full control over the executive process of the company over to you and my interference with everything would be minimal. If there's anything that I want to be changed or am not satisfied with, I'll discuss it with you and we'll talk about how to deal with things. There's a clause that says that the first 6 months are a sort of probation period and during that time I have the right to fire you if I feel that your performance is not up to par. Though after that 6-month clause, I'll be permanently hiring you as the CEO of my company at which point you'll become a partner on the board of the company with me along with a 5% stake of your own. If I have any decisions or suggestions that I need to be implemented within the company, they'll be going through you. Do you have any questions?"
He'd noticed that Kaguya was shifting through the contract very quickly and stopping for a brief instant whenever something he mentioned came up.
He gave her the time to read through it slightly. Knowing that there might be a clause that she doesn't like and wants to be changed.
"Here, it says that the R&D department will be working on the optimizations of the applications and projects that the company is working on, but the core computing and algorithms of certain applications made by you will be kept by yourself and the company will not have access to them. Is there any particular reason for that?"
'Does she have some kind of super brain with a photographic memory? That's something that was put down in the fine print.'
"Not really, I'm just, particular about some aspects of my code that are sensitive information. The idea of a mobile assistant isn't something that unique but what's important is the core algorithm that's running it, that's something that will be protected for now. It'll be changing after we move on to wider aspects of the industry."
"I understand…" Kaguya spent the next half an hour ironing out the kinks in both hers and Hayasaka's contracts with him, surprising him since he expected that she'd need to take a day or two to review the contract.
Once everything was done, Kazuya verbally hired her, and the contract that had to be edited would be sent to her by mail. She would officially start working for him on Monday, which was two days later.
With that, he'd gotten his new CEO.
"Great, since all that's done, I'll brief you on the current progress of the application and the company, so that you can take the reigns from Monday."
Kazuya let her know about the alpha build's status and that the beta will be released tomorrow evening.
"What I need from you is the marketing and promotion of the product to get done, you will have access to the funds within the company account and I'll complete the paperwork within the week, You can judge what you'll be doing with the money when you have access to the account."
"Should I start hiring people and rent an office for the company? That's sorely necessary." Kaguya wanted to probe his intentions for the company.
"I know that we need to do that. For now, though we don't have enough money and it's going to take a while before we go green. The application will be very profitable but it'll take some time. I'll give it will the end of April before we can have any sort of profit from it."
"And what of investors? I know for a fact that if you show your application to the right people then the investors would be clamoring to give you money."
"That's the thing. Although it'll slow down our start, I have no plans to share my product design or the ownership of the company with anyone other than the people I trust. And investors would be the last people that I trust."
"I have one last question. What's your plan after this application? Do you even have a plan? Or do you plan on riding out with the success that you get from the application and retiring?" Kaguya's question was on point.
Nowhere throughout the conversation did she let leak a single ounce of emotion, it was slightly unnerving but it was fine. Although Kazuya still hasn't been able to gauge anything from her usual icy expression.
"Of course not, I'm already working on my next project. With Nexus, I plan to revolutionize the Artificial Intelligence industry and bring about a new age. That's not happening with a simple AI assistant. All of the money within the company account has come from my pocket for now. My next project will be rectifying that issue. The assistant isn't going to be generating too much money initially so I've thought of another application that'll be subscription-based and create a consistent and stable revenue stream for the company. I'll show you the prototype within the month so that you can get the marketing campaign started, same as the assistant."
"I see… Well, that's good to know. I'll be waiting for the finalized contract so that I can start working, there's a lot of stuff that needs to be done."
Kazuya was a little curious about this Hayasaka person but nowhere along the conversation did she butt in or say anything, she was like Kaguya's perfect subordinate.
'She makes me want to get a secretary of my own. I should talk to Chizuru about the whole Mami thing… If I want to further my plans with Mami, then I need to hire her and have her leave her own home first though, that's not going to be too difficult though, what's going to be difficult is the talk that I need to have with Chizuru about her. Forget it, I'll think about it later…'
With that, Kazuya's meeting with Kaguya was concluded.

"Get out and stay out. You're disturbing me. I have a date to prepare for." Chizuru told him as she mercilessly pushed him out of her apartment.
'But… That date is with me…'
"My girlfriend has betrayed me for some high school brat…" He lamented.
She opened the door and said, "Damn it, Kazuya, can you please let me get ready? I'll cater to all your whims after this…" She pulled out her strongest card, the card of seduction.
"Anything?" Kazuya's eyes were bright.
"Anything, I'm your girlfriend after all." Kazuya couldn't help but think that her smile was so beautiful.
"I love you." Kazuya gave her a light peck and walked to his apartment with renewed vigor.
She was left at her front door, shaking her head with a smile at her boyfriend's antics.
30 minutes later Kazuya rang her doorbell. He was wearing his old school uniform— A white shirt and cardigan with a dark navy blue blazer and tie with navy blue pants along with black loafers.
"Coming." She called out from behind the door.
When she opened the door, Kazuya was instantly mesmerized. She wore her usual 'Kazuya hairstyle' as he in his infinite narcissism called it. She wore a white shirt that had its collar opened sexily. Over the shirt, there was a cream-colored lined cardigan that gave her a casual feel. Over all of that, there was a green blazer that seemed a bit big for her frame. Her checkered skirt was tucked to around the mid of her thighs, seeming luscious and sexy. Her legs had knee-length socks and loafers. The last touch that gave her an amazing schoolgirl feel was the cutely tied-up bow that she was wearing around her collar alongside the school bag on her shoulder.
"You look amazing, Chizuru-chan," Kazuya said in a perfectly normal tone.
"C-Chan?" She felt weird being addressed as chan by her boyfriend.
"Of course. We're playing the part of teenagers in love today, so it's nominal that my address toward you would be slightly different."
"O-Of course, you just caught me off guard, that's all. How are you, Kazuya-kun?"
"Let's go, we should start our date."
Today wasn't a usual date for them. In fact, they hadn't gone on a normal date since they started dating yet. Today was going to be Kazuya acting as a teenager— the popular kind. And Chizuru was going to be his girlfriend. They were going to be enacting a fun teenage romance date.
