Chapter 6: I don't need a bride

Yue opened the door and in bewilderment found two men stepping back away. Yue was going out to ask where the bathroom was. However, then she realized. Yue looked at herself who was not wearing a hood. The two of them must have been terrified to see her. Quickly the girl entered and closed the door.

Xingchen froze. He couldn't believe a white-haired girl came out of his room, then disappeared quickly. Xingchen took a big step and opened the door.

Behind, Eunuch Feng followed. He also observed the condition of the quiet room. "Prince, I think it's a ghost. It's now the month of ghosts. We'd better not disturb her," he suggested.

Xingchen did not listen to Eunuch Feng's words. He walked into the rooms where he lived. After inspecting the reading room and dining room, there remained the bedroom. With slow steps, Xingchen opened the door to his room which was already slightly ajar.

After opening the door, the two men found a woman in a red dress sitting on the bed. Xingchen recognized her as the female ghost. Meanwhile, Eunuch Feng immediately remembered something. "Prince, I think this Princess is your bride from the Northern kingdom," said Eunuch Feng.

Xingchen's forehead wrinkled. "I don't need it," he insisted.

"Princess, I tell you to return to your country immediately. No one is getting married here." Xingchen spoke in a loud voice.

Yue heard a loud voice directed at her, instantly feeling inferior. Her fingers intertwined. In the Northern kingdom, everyone wished for her death. Then, there is no place for her. Under the red hood that covered her head, her eyes filled with tears. In this world, there was no place for a curse like her.

Yue stood up but didn't know where to go. So she was silent for some time.

Seeing no obedience for him, Xingchen became angry. Xingchen stepped forward to grab the girl. Suddenly, his vision became blurry, and his head dizzy, he finally fell to the floor.

"Prince, are you all right? Are you dizzy? I'll call the healer. Please wait!"

Eunuch Feng panicked leaving Xingchen on the floor. The old man ran out leaving Xingchen with Yue.

Yue lifted her hood to look at Xingchen. The man held his head, rolling left and right with his mouth open as if to scoop up all the air. Yue bit her lip. She knew she could treat the man, but the soldier told her not to treat just anyone.

Over time, Xingchen's condition got worse. He fainted after coughing.

"Is he dead?"

Yue waved her hand near Xingchen. "It can't be this soon," she whispered and immediately felt guilty.

Yue sat down, then stretched out her palm. Thus a white light glowed over Xingchen. Then, not long enough, Yue fell.

Eunuch Feng entered with a healer. He was confused after finding two people lying on the floor. He panicked and rashly called the maid.

Xingchen opened his eyes, then got up from his bed. He took a deep breath. Eunuch Feng, beside him, immediately said, "Prince, are you okay? Please don't move much."

Xingchen looked at Eunuch Feng. "What's going on? I'm not having trouble breathing," he told him.

"Prince, is it true?" Eunuch Feng asked in disbelief.

"Yes."

"Where's the healer?" Xingchen asked then.

An old man dressed in white entered the room. His old back bent. "I am here, Prince."

"What have you done? Now I have no trouble breathing."

The healer looked up. "Is it true, Prince? I didn't do anything special," he replied.

Xingchen's forehead wrinkled. If the healer didn't treat him, then how could he not have trouble breathing when he woke up? Xingchen looked around.

"Where's the girl?"

"I found the princess fainted near you. She is now in the next room. Would you like to see her, Prince?" Eunuch Feng explained while harboring hope in his heart.

Xingchen raised his right hand. "No need. Send her home when she gets better."

Eunuch Feng bowed deeper. "Prince, this marriage is the Emperor's gift. I can't let the princess go," he said.

Xingchen looked out the window. Outside, Magnolias bloomed and soon disappeared when the wind blew. "That's your job. Make her go of her own accord."

"Yes, Prince. I will go. Please rest."

Eunuch Feng and the healer left the room. As he passed the door, Eunuch Feng looked back for a moment. Prince Xingchen was already in his twenties, the right age to have a family.

Eunuch Feng muttered, "I hope you are always happy, Prince."

The warm wind that night blew calmly and slowly. The wind carried the fragrance of Magnolia flowers while fluttering the petals. Xingchen sat by the window. His white hanfu waved in the wind. Another night, by this time he was already bedridden. However, this time he was not sleepy.

"What happened?" Xingchen asked while feeling the temperature of his hand.

"Does the girl know anything?"

Xingchen looked up. The night sky was dark, but there were shining stars.

"That girl was near me, she should know something," Xinhchen spoke, then left his place. He was about to go into the room next to his.

Xingchen walked over. He quickly noticed that his steps had become lighter. This is the first time. He had done many meditations, but his steps were never this light.

Xingchen arrived at the door. After a moment of silence, his hand opened the door. After entering, he was dumbfounded, then took a step back.
