Chapter 51: Dense
"What, you mean that she has already seen her? Does that mean she knows who she is?" Solar asked in a shocked tone, she didn't expect her daughter to be the first to know that her daughter was the first one to know the secret of their World.
"You're mistaken, she doesn't know anything. I lied to her and said that Lady Somi was some kind of captive I found in the Gate, and she believed me. If you're curious, she doesn't know who I really am because I have no plan to tell her, and even though I'm kind of her aunt, there's no need to tell her that since she is already old." Yuki chuckled after seeing that Solar had misunderstood her.
If there was one thing that Alice got from her Mother, it was her personality. Both of them do not act cold and indifferent to people, but if people get to know them better, they will understand that both of them are just like shy little girls. But if there was one thing that Alice didn't inherit from her Mother, it was her aggressiveness, at least that is what she likes to think. After all, she still doesn't know what Alice really likes as she has only met her for just a few days. The first time she met her was of course when she was just born, she had even carried her, but the last time was already decades ago.
"Oh, really? That is nice to hear then, but is it really appropriate for you to lie to her? It's not like I'm judging your actions, it's fine if you don't tell her about the secret of our world. But can't you at least tell that you are her aunt? I'm sure she'll remember you even though the last time you met her was on her 1st birthday. Because she has a very excellent memory. You were even the one who said that." Saito asked curiously because she knew that Mio was actually kind of attached to their daughter, but it was not to some extent.
"Well… let's just say that I'm the one who didn't remember her. Plus when I was still visiting her, I had my mask on, so it's impossible that she knows who I am." Mio explained to them which made them shocked, they were shocked to hear that Mio actually forgot who their daughter was.
"Okay… before you flare up with me. In my defense, she was still a baby at that time, and I didn't try to bother to look at her name even with my Passive Skill that let me read everyone's Status. I mean… you know who I am, I'm just too lazy to do things. So let's just say that I didn't really recognize your daughter, not until I actually read it. It's a bit unfair, don't you think?" Mio explained herself to all of them before they got angry at her.
"Well, if you put it like that, I guess I understand it. Then let me just ask you this, are you ever going to tell her who you are?" Solar asked another important question Mio which just silenced her and her silence was already an answer to her. However, she didn't quite understand why Mio wouldn't want to introduce herself since both of them are families.
"It's going to get weird, I mean, just imagine this situation. Your daughter is the Principal of my Academy, while I work there as a Teacher under her, isn't that just going to be weird and awkward for the both of us?" Mio explained to them why she refused to tell Alice who she was even after knowing that she was her niece.
After receiving the answer, the three of them now realize why Mio refuses to tell Alice who she really is because now that they think about it, her reasoning is right. It would be extremely awkward to have a Teacher under you who is the founder of the Academy, on top of that she is the most prominent Human alive, and to make it more awkward, she is your aunt.
Mio only chuckled after they saw that they finally understood why she didn't want to tell Alice who she was, but she was not going to lie that she had already thought about it. However, that is not something she is going to tell them, as it is only a matter of time before Alice gets to know it herself. She could already tell and see that Alice was slowly getting suspicious of her identity.
This is the way that Mio wants Alice to know who she is by solving everything by herself without asking for anyone's help.
"I did say that I'm not planning to tell her who I am, but I want her to find out herself. Your daughter is already curious and even suspicious of me and I already see her going up to you and asking if you know who I am. So I want for all of you to shut up and just let her do everything herself because if she really finds out who I am, I'm going to reward her with something." Mio smiled as she told them about her plan.
"Wait, I'm also a part of this?" Najin asked curiously because he rarely sees Alice even though he is her godfather.
"Of course, you're her godfather. Plus you meet her more than me, I remember that you even attended all of her birthdays and you have a pretty close relationship with her." Mio said without thinking about it too much and her words choked Najin, but it didn't take long for him to fight back.
"If you would have just also joined her birthday parties, you would be much closer to her than you are now. But you didn't, you just stayed in your lonely house and played video games all day long." Najin said and his words made the other two laugh in response because what he said just stabbed Mio right in the heart because it was all the truth.
"You…" Mio was speechless, but after a few seconds of silence, she appeared behind Najin's back which caught him off guard, but it was already too late as Mio already put him in a chokehold.
"Argh!! Ugh… I'm sorry, so get off me!" Najin immediately apologized to Mio when she heard his sincerity after choking him for more than 10 seconds already. She let go of him and just as she was about to knock him on the head, she saw his expression which made her confused.
"I just almost killed you, but why does your face look like that? You're red all over." Mio asked as she didn't understand why Najin was looking like that, instead of looking pale, it seemed more like he was embarrassed.
'This dense woman, after so many years already, she is still the same. She doesn't even understand why Najin is embarrassed by what she did.' Saito thought to himself as he silently pitied Najn.
'Come on! You fucking dense of a woman, your big breasts were literally pressing against his back, so how the hell he can stay calm even after that!?' Solar yelled inwardly as she just couldn't believe that Mio was still the same even after so many years.
