Chapter 15: Third Supreme

Two days flew by in the blink of an eye, and his life in the virtual world went on as usual. He would eat with Fallan and Draven, which had already become his routine. Every day, they took him on a tour of the palace, which he knew was only one-tenth of the entire palace. He also wondered how big this Chaos Palace was at times. During his two days of touring the palace, he noticed a lack of servants or even NPCs. Apart from Lien, whom he occasionally sees, Davy had only met Fallan and Draven. Was this game solely focused on the Supreme and main characters, with no extras?

In any case, it was not that significant in the grand scheme of things. Davy also never found out who hid the garden, which left a bad taste in his mouth whenever he thought about what happened in the 'garden.' Fallan was still calm, and Draven was still annoying as fuck; in short, his life in the virtual world appeared to be going well. He almost forgot he was in the adult game and had a mission to complete in order to come out; everything feels so real. Fallan and Draven's personalities, expressions, and demeanor were more akin to real people—all of it. Davy was starting to forget that they were NPCs at this point.

His steps slowed as he frequently observed the artworks before moving on to the next. His tour guide's loud and enthusiastic voice was ruining the solemn atmosphere. Davy was getting used to it and doesn't mind too much; Fallan wasn't with them as he had something to do. He almost forgot Fallan was a ruler and that he had a lot to deal with because he was always with him. Then there was this loud guy, who was such an irresponsible Supreme who only knew how to adventure.

Draven's voice fell silent for a moment. Hm? Davy had to raise his head and look around to figure out what was wrong. He hadn't even finished looking up when he was abruptly pulled into a tight embrace. Davy almost couldn't breathe because the hug was so intense. What the fuck? Who is this?

The tight hug, which lasted about a minute, gradually loosened, but the man who had unexpectedly embraced Davy did not immediately pull away. Davy took a deep breath, darn that was a tight hug. He began to recover from his shock and perceive his surroundings, particularly the person who was currently hugging him. The sound of his heartbeat, the way he softly stroked his hair, and his occasional kisses on the top of Davy's head.

Davy instinctively closed his eyes, as if savoring the stranger's warmth. This kind of refreshing scent was really familiar, but the security the stranger provided seriously confused him. Why was that? Thinking about it in this way... Something clicked in his mind as his eyes opened abruptly. Except for Fallan and Draven, there was no one who could make him feel at ease... Davy could only think of one possible someone, the Supreme he had yet to meet–Lyle.

"Damn it, Lyle. You just popped out of nowhere, and almost pissed my pants." Draven mumbled some complaints at the side. While he appeared to be angry, he was obviously joking.

Davy lifted his head and looked at the stranger as the man slowly pulled away... at Lyle. As he looked up, his gaze was met by a pair of emerald eyes that sparkled and softly stared back at him. Davy almost gasped at how stunning those eyes were. His ponytailed blonde hair gives him the impression that it simply complements his face. Lyle was so ethereal that Davy almost couldn't speak. What the fuck? Why were all of these NPCs such perfect beings?

Lyle's face was not as feminine as his; he had more of a pretty boy appearance. And it complements his emerald eyes perfectly. Actually, Lyle couldn't be called handsome at all. the more appropriate is pretty. Fallan was more intimidating, with perfectly defined features that clearly show his dominance, whereas Draven was more tough and aggressive in appearance. Even Draven's tattoo and the explosive redhead also give these details almost instantly. The man in front of him was different; he was neither dominant nor aggressive, but the term "unapproachable" perfectly described him.

There was just something about his aura that made anyone afraid to approach him. Davy, on the other hand, didn't feel that way at all. The soft look he gave him and the way he clutched at him made it difficult for Davy to be intimidated. For a brief moment, he imagined Lyle, if he were a puppy, wagging his tail affectionately for him. He immediately scolded himself for comparing him to a puppy. It was just...

Davy heard his voice for the first time and said, "I'm sorry, I wasn't here when you woke up." Lyle spoke gently as he embraced him again and kissed the top of his head before pulling away. Emerald's eyes glowed with warmth and concern, his hands clinging to Davy's waist. It was not suggestive, just him gently clutching at him... Yes, just like a puppy who hadn't seen his owner in a long time. Fuck... He couldn't help himself.

Davy bit the bottom of his lips as he focused himself not to squeal and pinched his face as he stared at him and the soft worried emotion in Lyle's eyes. No one told him Lyle would be this adorable. He took a deep breath to calm his emotions. "It's okay, you don't need to apologize," Davy said sincerely, assuring him that it wasn't a big deal. Davy was now immersed in his role, despite knowing it was for the plot, and he portrayed it well.

Lyle opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a snicker. They both looked in that direction almost simultaneously. A certain redhead was leaning against one of the sculptures, his arms crossed across his chest, judging them with his eyes. "As if you've ever been there when the sleeping beauty wakes up?" Davy's smile faded and quickly turned into a frown. What was the deal with this redhead now?

Davy glared at him and mouthed, "Shut up!"

Despite the fact that he was aware of it, he simply winked and did not retract what he said. He got a headache out of nowhere; were Draven and Lyle not getting along? His heart skipped a beat, his mind already imagining the worst-case scenario. When would Fallan return?

While Davy was already tearing his hair out over how to relieve any tension, the man who was holding him spoke. He was still gentle as ever. "I know, you're not allowed to talk as well," Lyle said, but Davy understood perfectly. Draven did not appear to be present every time he "woke up" as well.

Davy clenched his fist and pressed his lips together, ready to intervene if a fight broke out. And, as he was about to use his card, he was taken aback by Draven's response. He only laughed so hard that he almost knocked over the sculpture he was leaning on. Davy glanced at his clenched fist and then at the crazy redhead; should he start the fight instead? Fuck, Davy was fucking done with him.

Lyle, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned, as if he had anticipated it. Draven finally calmed down a few seconds later, but the smile remained on his lips. "Why are you still so funny?" Draven exclaimed as he took a step closer to the two of them. Davy watched his antics with unblinking eyes this time. Under his critical gaze, Draven placed his left arm on Lyle's shoulder, who didn't even flinch.

Davy was taken aback by how quickly the situation had changed; they had only been sarcastic to each other earlier. Why did they suddenly become friends? Draven winked as he noticed his expression. "Let's stop here, looks like our dear sleeping beauty is getting nervous already," he teased as his other hand flicked Davy's chin.

At these words, the puppy–he meant Lyle who was holding him—looked at him with puppy eyes. "Are you nervous? You don't have to mind Draven that much, he is always this crazy."

"Hey, this is slander; could you please stop spreading false information about me?" Draven defended himself, and the arms around Lyle's shoulder tightened as well.

Lyle didn't respond, instead ignored Draven and gave Davy a half-hug. Davy gave Draven an unamused look, his eyes revealing the obvious implication. That was not slander, but rather the truth.

When Draven saw this, he exclaimed dramatically and removed his arms from around Lyle's shoulder, placing them in his mouth. "I can't believe you can see me like that, dear; it truly breaks my heart."

Davy rolled his eyes and sneered, clearly not convinced. A tough-looking guy being a crybaby was such an unsightly sight. Especially if that someone is one of the Supremes of Chaos, Draven didn't do justice to his title at all.

As Draven would say something again, the surroundings abruptly changed. Davy, stunned, had to look around to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. He knitted his brows in confusion, raised his gaze, and looked at the man clinging to him. "Finally, just the two of us," Lyle smiled softly.

Davy stared at his soft and innocent smiles as if what he had done was insignificant. Yes, Lyle was always correct. Draven, on the other hand, deserved to be left alone.

Davy raised his hand, making contact with Lyle's face with his palms. A hand then grasped his hand, which was touching Lyle's face, as he lifted his eyes, and they locked eyes. The soft flicker of his emerald eyes and the long eyelashes as he slightly drooped his eyes enjoying Davy's touch gave Davy a warm feeling. He was too cute.

He licked his lips as they both smiled, the gentle clingy Lyle affecting his mood. One of the reasons why, despite the fact that this was their first meeting, Davy was secure and at ease with Lyle as if he had known him for a long time. Davy had always wondered how this game managed to make it so realistic and even interfere with the players' emotions. The way they took role-playing games to the next level.

Unknowingly, his smile faded and he fell into a trance for a brief moment. What if... He'd get to the point where he couldn't tell the difference between his true and instilled emotions. Was he going to lose himself forever in the virtual world? Davy was terrified and perplexed at the same time. He realized how much he enjoyed being here... how much he enjoyed being with them.

A soft and warm hand gently caressed his cheeks, drawing him out of his thoughts. As he looked for the owner's eyes, the blank glow covering his pupils vanished in an instant. His gaze was searching for an answer to a seemingly complex question. Davy blinked as their gazes met, the enchanting emerald eyes looking at him with concern. Lyle's eyes appear to be searching for something wrong in his expression.

Wanting to figure out what was wrong.

"What's the matter?" Lyle inquired his tone a little too soft, and his voice indicating anxiety. His two hands cupped Davy's delicate face. Their faces were barely separated, and a slight lean over would bring their lips together. Their hot breaths touched, and Davy couldn't think of anything else. His gaze lowered and focused on those red lips, his mind whispering something to him that he couldn't fully comprehend but could feel in his heart.

Lyle's lips opened, and he seemed to say something to him, but his state didn't bother to understand it. His heart skipped a beat and began to beat faster. Actually, Davy had a question that he had yet to confirm. He wanted to know how far this game had influenced him, and he was about to find out.

That was exactly what he did. Davy was the one who initiated the kiss for the first time.
