Chapter 18: A Sad Life
"uu... Yuu! Wake up!! You're gonna be late!"
I hear a female voice while slowly waking up, "Yeah i know, i was just resting my eyes a bit. Rather, aren't YOU going to be late for school like this?".
Is this one of my dream/memories? But this one is much more detailed... I can even see my surroundings clearly now.
I am in a bedroom, the floor is made out of wood and the walls are made of white concrete, there is a wide grey desk at the corner with a cheap laptop on top of it, i'm in my bed, wich is in the opposite corner of where the desk was.
'Damn, i'm too tired to work today...'
What?? I heard a voice in my head, as if i was thinking, but the problem is that i wasn't. Am i dreaming my own thoughts as well now??
'Since our parents were murdered 3 years ago, i quit school and started working to make ends meet, but because my younger sister Yue was still going to school, i had to work multiple jobs. After a while i somehow managed to buy a cheap laptop but it's not very useful...'

'The serial killed that killed my parents was later found and put into jail. Now i don't have anything except Yue, but since i have to work from early in the morning until midnight, i rarely get to spend any time with her... I wonder if anything good will happen somewhen in my life...'
Was this the kind of life i was living? How was i even able to keep up with the daily routine? I had like 5 hours to sleep...
'i dress up, get on my bike, and go to work as usual...'
Hey, i should be the one describing the events... Wait, does this count as me as well? These are my thoughts after all...
'Damn... I'm so tired that even my vision is blurr-'
"OI! GET OUT OF THE WAY-"
*Crash*
Wha- was that a truck??! Did a truck just hit me??!! What a sad life i had...
Wait what's this? I'm floating?? But my body is right there... Suddently the sky cracks, inside the crack were the blue stars and the dark purple galaxy i saw when i heard that voice before waking up in The Tower, then i was absorbed by the crack and as i'm passing out, i see it closing...
Was that what happened before i woke up in The Tower...? But then what about Ray Amond and his memories...
"ay... Ray... Ray! Wake up, i know you can hear me" i heard Mia's voice trying to wake me up... Wait what? Mia? Trying to wake me up? I think i'm still sleeping... "That's strange... We did use the potion on him right??"
I hear Domo's voice now, am i really awake? "I can feel his heart beating, he's still alive, let's just wait for now" i felt something on my chest and Mia's voice close to me while she was talking. At this point i think i'm awake, so i get up and see Domo standing near me and Mia getting up from the floor. "Look! He's awake!!" Esclamates Domo after i get up, "Good, the potion worked" says Mia while trying to hide a sigh of relief,
"What happened? Where are the others?" I ask while looking at Domo, "They're still unconcious... We found a potion near you with a label on it saying "Energy Potion: it's a great boost if you're tired, metally and physically!" So we tried using it on you because we didn't know what to do..." Says Domo. I look at Mia, "I'm no good when it comes to making decisions" says Mia, as if she was reading my mind, "How much time passed since i was unconcious?" I ask, "About 30 minutes since we woke up..." Says Domo.
So it has been more than 30 minutes... "Let's conquer the Floor for now, we won't have to bring them all the way down to the previous Floor if we do." I say, "Yes, the real door should be near." Says Domo while looking around. I used [Analyze] to find the door. Good, my skill works now...
I open the door and conquer the floor. Both the floor and walls as well as the ceiling were made of maroon wood, the pattern was kind of random though... I don't like it. I could see two skeletons in the distance, the bodies of the orcs were near them. Aside from those there was nothing else in the room, it was completely empity.
"Call the others downstairs and tell them to come here, there may be some more potions in this Floor's secret room" i say, "Right! I'll call them now!" Says Domo while dashing out the door.
"Did you... See?" Asks Mia, "Do you mean you sensing my heartbeat?" I ask, "N-Not that... Well if you don't know it's better..." Responds Mia, "Then do you mean... Your memories?" I say,
"!!" Mia looks alerted.
The door suddently opens and the people waiting in the previous Floor were coming in. After the last one enters, the secret mechanism activates, but this time there were two secret rooms!
"I'll look in the left one!" Says Domo, "Then i'll look in the other one" i say while walking to the second secret room, while i was walking Mia was staring at me but didn't say anything.
*Creak*
The door makes a noise as i'm opening it. It looks rusty and old, the room contained a blast furnace and a big anvil, there were lots of coal in the corner near the door too. Near the anvil i see a block of stone a bit taller than Shin that was emitting mana. It looked kinda strange because it wasn't part of the floor since it wasn't attached to it... I'll leave it for now.
I look around a bit more and find some notes and drawings about a cool looking sword. The notes looked really old and the whole place was dusty, probably because of all the coal there was in the room.
I come out of the room since i didn't find any potions.
"Oh, there you are, Ray!", I see baldie waving at me at the other side of the Floor, "So Domo found some potions!" I say while walking towards him, "Yes, he said that the secret room he went in was an infirmary, and it was full of potions and medications!" says baldie. Good, we have medications now, the only problem is food... We will run out of both food and water in about two days.
After that, the day went normally, except for the fact that Mia didn't talk after what happened, and was continuously looking at me.
Now we were going to sleep...
