Chapter 79: Making A Fuss (Arc 2)

In the original timeline, when Yin Longshen was 18 years old, he began developing an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) that was supposed to be a groundbreaking project. He invested several million dollars and wanted it to be the best of the best.

When he turned 19, the MMORPG that he developed, "Land of Avalon", was launched. It was an instant hit -- thousands of people became immersed in the game, and within a few months, it was one of the hottest games in the world.

"Land of Avalon" had a unique setting and advanced game play features that was better than other games. There were little to no BUGS, and anyone who played it would praise its excellent control and its diverse setting.

However, this was when the problem appeared. There was a rival game company, Perduro, who was displeased with XBH's success. Perduro was a branch company under the Chen family.

Although the Chen family wasn't as powerful or affluent as the Yin, Peng, or Tan families, they had quite the background. The most important thing was, this Chen family did not hesitate to do dirty things to get what they want.

Knowing that XBH's new MMORPG was better than the ones that Perduro made, the Chen family arranged for someone to hurt Yin Longshen. Their thinking way was, if Yin Longshen got hurt, the MMORPG project could not go on without him.

After all, he was the pillar of XBH Company, so once he was gone, "Land of Avalon" could not develop anymore. By that time, the Chen family planned to slip some people into the XBH Company and steal the information related to the production of "Land of Avalon".

The Chen family hired a hit man to crash into Yin Longshen's car. They had bribed some people in the XBH company, so they knew his schedule already. This was the car accident that almost took Yin Longshen's life.

Thankfully, Yin Longshen survived this incident. Of course, he investigated everything thoroughly, gathered evidence against the Chen family, and had them brought before the law.

After reading until that point, Feng Yongrui took a deep breath.

If he followed the original timeline's schedule, then Yin Longshen would get into a car accident when he turned 19. When Yin Longshen was 19, Feng Yongrui would be around... 12 years old.

"I think I know what to do, System," Feng Yongrui muttered.

He would make it so that the one who got into the accident was he himself, "Yin Yongrui", instead of "Yin Longshen".

Of course, to do that, he needed to plan all of this carefully...

But it was alright. At the moment, Yin Longshen was still 13 years old, and Feng Yongrui was 6. There was still plenty of time to plan and prepare.

Feng Yongrui sighed and returned to the Yin family mansion.

***

Time passed very quickly, and Yin Longshen was almost turning fourteen. Feng Yongrui himself was nearing his seventh birthday. He would be entering first grade soon, and many people were making a fuss about it.

First of all, there was Zhao Baozhai.

Feng Yongrui wasn't that close to his birth mother, but, compared to Yin Qiushan, who seemed non-existent, Zhao Baozhai was still the better parent.

Throughout these years, Zhao Baozhai sometimes stayed in the Yin mansion, sometimes she stayed in her own villa, or went abroad. Whenever she stayed in the Yin mansion, she would try to converse with Feng Yongrui.

Feng Yongrui had gotten used to her presence. She was a bit overbearing sometimes, but usually she meant well, at least for him.

The surprising thing was, Zhao Baozhai actually talked with Yin Longshen as well. Several months ago, Yin Longshen had met with Zhao Baozhai privately.

Feng Yongrui had no idea what the two of them talked about, but after that incident, the two of them seemed to become closer. Feng Yongrui thought it was his illusion, but when the two of them finished talking, it seemed like the barrier between them had disappeared.

He had checked with the System, and it confirmed to him that this had never happened in the original timeline.

Well, Feng Yongrui thought it was for the best. At least, now Zhao Baozhai didn't hate and neglect Yin Longshen like before.

Zhao Baozhai would occasionally ask Yin Longshen about his studies, and she would tell him to do his best (albeit in a cold voice), and tell him that he could buy whatever he needed.

(When Feng Yongrui first heard this, he felt he was dreaming and pinched himself several times, but he realized it was real.)

Yin Longshen would also respectfully call her Aunt Zhao, and Zhao Baozhai actually approved of it. She did not glare at him anymore -- instead, the two of them seemed to have some sort of tacit understanding between them.

Now, knowing that Feng Yongrui was going to enter first grade soon, Zhao Baozhai was worried and constantly fussed over him.

Feng Yongrui could not get used to her overbearing nagging. Zhao Baozhai would worry about his clothes, worry about his pocket money being too little, worry that he would be bullied, and so on.

Feng Yongrui would always zone out whenever she started nagging. At first, he thought this was already bad enough, but soon, Yin Longshen joined in on the nagging.

Yin Longshen was the second person who was worried about Feng Yongrui entering first grade. He was worried about the same things as Zhao Baozhai, but he was also worried about other things.

For example, Yin Longshen always worried about this: what if the school wasn't safe?

Feng Yongrui: "..."

"What if the school isn't safe? What if there's a water puddle and my Didi slips and falls?" Yin Longshen would ask.

"What if he falls down the stairs (again)?" Yin Longshen would ask. "Are there handrails on the side of the stairs??"

"Emergency exits! There has to be at least 5 emergency exits!"

"Fire hydrant... The fire hydrant and fire alarm has to work! What if there's a sudden fire and Didi gets stuck inside?"

"We have to invite a Fengshui Master to check the layout of the school..."

"Maybe we should hire bodyguards..."

Feng Yongrui wanted to cry but he had no tears. Brother, enough is enough, okay? Is there a six-year-old child who goes to school escorted by bodyguards? QAQ...

He wouldn't get hurt in the school, he didn't have too worry so much!

Yin Longshen's worrying and anxiety was affecting others as well. Whenever Yin Longshen hung out with his five best friends (Su Liwei, Liao Zihao, Xiang Xing, Xiao Shan, and Ding Wei), he would start talking about Feng Yongrui.

For example, when they visited a cafe and waited for their drinks to arrive, their conversation would go something like this:

"You've been sighing for the tenth time already, just what's wrong?" Su Liwei asked.

"He's worried about that brother of his... You know how he is," Xiang Xing snickered.

Liao Zihao rolled his eyes. "Why are you so worried? It's just first grade. Everyone has to go through it at some point in their life."

"It's not just 'first grade'! My younger brother is the best, the cutest, and yet the most vulnerable! I have to protect him!" Yin Longshen cried.

"...Based on what you're saying, he's made of glass, right?" Ding Wei said sarcastically.

Yin Longshen ignored him and sighed again.

"Aiyah... I can't believe it... You actually stopped playing games with us because you wanted to focus on your younger brother? That's just too mean," Xiang Xing wailed.

"I agree. I know you're worried about your brother, but I'm telling you, he's going to be fine," Liao Zihao said. "I have a younger brother, and he passed first grade like it was nothing."

"That's because your younger brother is a tyrant!" Yin Longshen complained. Li Zihao's younger brother was famous for his arrogant and domineering personality. If he wanted something, no one could stop him.

"My younger brother is delicate and softhearted. He will definitely be bullied..." Yin Longshen clicked his tongue.

Xiao Shan, who had been quiet all this time, finally shifted the topic to school, and the conversation about Yin Longshen's younger brother ended. However, it would be brought up again in a few days, and the contents would be pretty much the same.

Yin Longshen's constant worrying was beginning to affect Zhao Baozhai as well, and Feng Yongrui was afraid that the two of them would tear the entire school down.

He had to do his best to ease his mother and older brother's worries.

Unfortunately, those two weren't the only ones who were worried. Feng Yongrui had two close friends from preschool, a fiery girl named Yuan Hong and a quiet boy named Deng Qiu.

Yuan Hong's parents were going to transfer her into a different school from Feng Yongrui's, so out of the three, only Feng Yongrui and Deng Qiu were going to stay together.

Yuan Hong would repeatedly tell the two boys to take care of one another, not to be softhearted, to fight back anyone who dared to bully them, and so on.

Feng Yongrui thought to himself, if Yuan Hong grew up, she was bound to be a talkative mother!

***

*Feng Yongrui going to enter first grade*

Nobody:

Zhao Baozhai: What if my son is bullied??

Yin Longshen: Is the school safe??

Feng Yongrui: "..."

What are you most anxious or worried about?
