Chapter 64: Chapter 64: I'm good as S.H.I.E.L.D.!

After a brief lecture on the Winter Soldier to Captain America, several people returned their attention to the topic.

Brains began to run at high speed as they pondered over it.

"I think the most likely one is Nick Fury."

Captain America was the first to express his opinion, "Nick Fury holds an intelligence agency in his hands, and he is the most likely person to find out the identity of the Winter Soldier."

"His intelligence network is no match for Jarvis." Iron Man said proudly off to the side, with an unmistakable look of dejection on his face.

"Jarvis? Who's he? The head of another intelligence agency?" Captain America asked with a straight face.

"Jarvis is my artificial intelligence ... Captain, promise me you'll catch up after the quiz, you're too out."

Iron Man clapped a hand on Captain America's shoulder with an old-fashioned look on his face.

"Explain to you what artificial intelligence is and you might not understand, I'll tell you this, anything that's networked can't be hidden from Jarvis' eyes."

"In the modern world, with surveillance cameras and recording devices in every corner of the globe, it's almost impossible to not leave any traces on the internet."

"Even if that Winter Soldier was a ghost, so mysterious that many intelligence agencies didn't believe in his existence, didn't Jarvis still find out a lot of information within minutes?"

"So in that respect ..." said Iron Man, dejected again, "I'm so sorry Nick Fury, I can match your S.H.I.E.L.D. all by myself."

Iron Man's nature has always been arrogant and fond of exaggerating, Captain America did not immediately believe it, but instead turned an inquiring gaze, to Nick Fury.

"Jarvis is indeed the most advanced AI of the current era, and at some point, does have an advantage over the intelligence agencies when it comes to intelligence gathering."

Nick Fury nodded, not that he was refuting Iron Man on that one because Iron Man wasn't boasting.

If it was one of those situations where there happened to be little surveillance, in other words not leaving much of a trace on the network, then only traditional methods could be used.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is more useful than Jarvis in this situation.

But what a time it is, it's the digital information age!

As Iron Man said, most of the time, everyone leaves more or less traces on the internet.

And as long as there are traces online, Jarvis, an AI, is naturally much more efficient than S.H.I.E.L.D.

For example, when Black Widow was shot by the Winter Soldier and the mission failed, it was natural for S.H.I.E.L.D. to not investigate.

Yet the truth was that after all these years, what was found was not as much as the request reports retrieved by Jarvis in that short moment on the warplane.

"Not some of the time, but most of the time!" Iron Man added with a straight face, before shrugging at the pair, "So the answer is obviously no, pick C, Iron Man!"

"This question is about intelligence skills, right? And out of the four options, my intelligence skills are without a doubt the strongest!"

"Captain, now it's your turn to answer the question, I've already analyzed the answer for you!" Iron Man followed up by spreading his hands to Captain America with a look of certainty.

"I believe in human power more than computer technology." Captain America said instead, shaking his head.

"As old-fashioned as the old man, it's a new age! Oh sorry, I forgot you're an old man." Iron Man shook his head repeatedly with the look of a villain.

"No, Stark, you're taking things too literally."

Nick Fury, however, dismissed Iron Man in the same way, "An assassination agent like the Winter Soldier, all information about him must have been wiped out."

"I bet even if the Winter Soldier took off his mask in front of you.

You wouldn't even be able to find out the Winter Soldier's identity!"

These were things Iron Man as a scientist probably didn't know too much about and that's why he didn't think of them, after all, the world was a different place.

But Nick Fury, as an intelligence chief, was well versed in the art of erasing all traces, just base manipulation.

Iron Man was dumbfounded by what Nick Fury said.

Because Nick Fury had a good point.

Even if Jarvis was awesome and could find all sorts of Winter Soldier intelligence on the internet in the first place, there still had to be a caveat: information on the identity of the Winter Soldier already existed on the internet.

This would allow for comparison, analysis and matching to determine the identity of the Winter Soldier.

But what if there is no information about the identity of the Winter Soldier on the internet?

Even if we got information on the Winter Soldier, it would be useless!

"And we currently know nothing about the organisation behind the Winter Soldier as well, Stark, and your Jarvis is of no use at all!"

Nick Fury said heavily to Iron Man immediately afterwards.

Within the organisation behind the Winter Soldier, the Winter Soldier's data could be highly encrypted and stored on the Intranet, theoretically making it possible for Jarvis to break into it.

But again, there is a prerequisite that Jarvis needs to have a breakthrough to do this.

The first thing you need to do is to know what network the other party is using or to get a terminal device that can access their intranet, and so on.

In the dark, Jarvis could only stare in disbelief.

So as much as his pride and self-esteem made Iron Man not want to admit it, he had to admit at the moment that he couldn't do the job.

"Let me tell you what it would take to get the Winter Soldier's identity information, either that, or we capture someone within the other organization who knows the Winter Soldier's identity."

"And the Winter Soldier is well kept within the other organisation, and the people who know the Winter Soldier's true identity must also be at the absolute top."

"Either that, or we broke into the other side's base and got hold of relevant information with a very high level of secrecy."

Nick Fury continued to talk eloquently in front of Iron Man, "But in either case, that would be a very difficult thing to do, and not something that one person could do."

As for capturing the Winter Soldier and forcing out the identity of the other man.

That was something Nick Fury didn't even mention, someone like the Winter Soldier would have been a waste of time even if he had been captured, there was no way he would had the means to make the other man talk.

"Nick Fury is right, this is something only a special operations squad can do."

"The collection and analysis of intelligence, the deployment of a battle plan, accurate and efficient field command, and the action of a rapid response squad ... are all missing."

"There seems to be only one person who can do such things." Captain America dropped his gaze, to the top of option A.
