Chapter 5: Chapter 5

"He escaped?"

Aria looked over to her subordinates in disbelief and worry while the subordinates could be seen kneeling down right in front of her in an apologetic manner.

The angel soldiers, facing towards the ground, could be seen fidgeting and their hands attempting to clench their fist but doing so weakly.

The atmosphere around the cathedral was uneasy and none of the angels dared to look the goddess in the eyes as an intruder was able to make it to a previously thought of impossible to break in heaven. If that was not enough to worry about, the angels around that were considered strong were not enough to either capture or kill the intruder.

Minutes passed and not a word was uttered.

Michael standing right next to Aria, was bubbling with anger, clutching his spear tightly. No longer able to stand the silence, he shouted,

"DO YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE DONE!!!! SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO ENTER HEAVEN WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION!!! AND YOU GUYS COULDN'T DO A THING TO HIM!! Michael slammed the spear onto the ground while exerting pressure towards the angels.

The angels were being slammed onto the ground but still maintaining their kneeling positions enduring albeit barely as their bodies were about to give up.

Michael wasn't only mad at them but at himself for letting him escape in the first place. Something happened to him the instance he used magic on him and lost the ability to move. The corruption squares disappeared quickly as if they weren't there, but it was something that was unknown to him. This unknown power subdued him and there was no telling what it would have done to the angels but still...

"Nothing can be done about it now Michael." Aria raised her hand while motioning to stop his pressure.

Aria went up to where her chair was and sat down placing one hand on the hand rest and resting her head on her hand.

"As much as I want to know what he is, there is still a war is happening. Looking at his actions though, it doesn't seem that he is siding with the demons."

'Who would run away after seeing their target in their eyes in the first place?' Aria glanced at the soldiers lost in thought.

Michael gazed at the goddess. Just as fast as his anger was there, it disappeared. His body relaxed and then faced the soldier returning to his previous regal demeanor and calmness.

"Right... My job isn't to capture anyone. I only have to protect the Goddess.' Michael reminded himself of his duty.

'What in the world is he? I have never seen any magic that creates static squares. Is there new magic that is being researched or is he just an exception? Is he a created product? I need to find out all about him. Sadly, I don't have any personnel available to deal with him right now so I will have to make the investigation a priority after the war.' Aria sighed as she looked at the angels kneeling down.

'Ahh... I forgot I was in front of everyone.' Aria snapped out of her daze, " Although I am greatly disappointed in your inability to deal with the matter, I will give you another opportunity to make up for it. Please remain in the cathedral for the remainder of the war or until our elite angel squad returns. Raise the security level of heaven to maximum and remain on guard."

As Aria issued her orders, she couldn't help but notice that the angels were all looking uneasy even after issuing her orders.

"What's wrong?" asked Aria as she raised her head intrigued by how they were acting.

At first, she just thought they were just really apologetic about what happened but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The commander of the unit of angels lifted his head up and recounted the threat the entity made and the way he disappeared, emphasizing it wasn't normal.

Aria just assumed that he teleported normally, but it seems that he destroyed a storage room in his disappearance which doesn't happen. No casualties were reported so it was safe to assume that he left quietly but that doesn't seem to be the case. All that mattered to Aria was if he was captured or dead, so she forgot to ask for details.

'A threat too? He was threatening to annihilate me, a Goddess and an army of angels. Laughable at best. Not even the Demon God can do that.' Aria chuckled a bit.

After hearing the threat, one could see a couple of veins popping out of Michael forehead hearing such an absurd threat. Gripping his spear tightly, he remained in his position and just told the other soldiers,

"He will get NOWHERE." said Michael resolutely.

They had every right to be confident. Afterall, they were a force to be reckoned with and most angels were considered to be legends in their own right. Threats like that seemed only to come from foolish people who got drunk in their power. The only threat they had to worry about was another army that they so happen to be in a war with. Demons.

"Be at ease, nothing will come of his threats. I am no weakling, and neither are all of you. Be more confident in yourselves," Aria smiled brightly, illuminating the surroundings with her radiance.

The angels all looked up as if their worries were being washed away by a tidal wave. All of them were smiling and felt reassured.

The commander however, smiled weakly as he couldn't shake the feeling he had when the person laughed as he made the threat.

Normally, he would dismiss them as foolish people, but he gave him an uneasy feeling. It wasn't fear but nervousness. The feeling you would get when meeting an unhinged person or just stuck in a situation where you don't know what's going to happen.

'Everything should be fine. The Goddess said so afterall.' the commander comforted himself as he dismissed the feeling he had.

(Ronan POV)

'I think I got out of there' I thought to myself as I was regaining consciousness with my eyes closed.

'Who would have thought that something would happen to the stone of miracles the moment I touched it. I'm not even sure where I was teleported either.'

I felt myself in a crawling position with my knees being on the floor as I was catching my breath after the whole ordeal that happened.

'Luckily, I made it alive but I can't relax right now... wait, this feels like dried dirt. Where am I?'

I started opening my eyes, but they were kind of blurry and it was difficult.

"Whatever, I'll just wait it out. I don't think I'm in any immediate danger so..." I said when suddenly I heard a sweet voice.

"What are you?"

Startled, I faced up where the voice was coming from and with all my might, opened my eyes to notice a pink long-haired woman facing me with a shield and javelin clearly pointing towards my direction. She wore gold engraving around her white armor which made it shine under the sunlight. An archangel paladin for sure.

'Damn, again with this?' I giggled nervously.

To my surprise though, the more my vision cleared, I noticed that there were more than thousands of angels behind her all holding less extravagant gear but nevertheless looking armed as if they were going on war. It was a barren wasteland with only dead trees.

'If this many angels were mobilized, doesn't that mean...'

I started scanning the area and noticed there were all kind of races surrounding me.

Angels, dwarves, elves, beastmen, and even demons with monsters. Every single one of them was armed and ready to fight.

For every single race, I was able to see the strongest commanders were standing at the forefront aiming their weapons at me seemingly wary of my presence.

Why do I assume they are the strongest? Well, they had outfits that screamed 'we are strong' and the items looked expensive.

"Are you incapable of speaking?" chimed in what seemed to be a green-haired male High Elf with a green robe embossed with silver lining and a silver bow that emitted white particles.

"Who cares. Just kill it, we are in the middle of a war," interjected a burly looking lion man with a fiery red mane and the bottom half of the traditional Karate clothes with a black belt. His fist were the ones aiming at me while looking annoyed at me.

"You dumb brute. We can't carelessly do anything because we are at war." said the brown-haired dwarf woman visibly irritated. She had a French braid that reached all the way to the ground, was slim and visibly appealing. Not at all what you would expect a dwarf would look like. The hammer she was carrying looked way too big for her to hold and shone in a very dazzling bronze color. She was holding it with her right arm, and it rested on her right shoulder. She looked relaxed but was also ready to attack.

I was still on the ground unable to comprehend the situation I was in while looking at all of them dumbfoundedly.

"Are you with us monster?" inquired a tall looking male demon with white hair that reached his hip, while showing off his well-defined strong body. His horns were unnecessarily huge and were dark. He wore clothes that a vampire would wear being all dark with some red engraving sprinkled around his uniform.

The moment the demon asked, immense killing intent came from every race that wasn't a demon.

There was no time to think, I had to say something. I will die at this rate.

Standing up, I proceeded to answer.

"My name is Ronan, and I am human. I mean no harm and am not affiliated with anyone. I have no idea what is going on right now but If you guys would kindly let me leave, it will be greatly appreciated." I smiled nervously while cold sweat slithered down my back hoping it will somehow work out.

I was wrong.

"You are no human. If you can lie, then clearly you plan on doing something." said the stone-faced archangel as she glanced at everyone to see if they agreed with her.

The high elf shrugged, "I don't care Willow."

He then proceeded to pull back the string of the bow.

"Seems like you are quite an unlucky monster," said the dwarf holding the hammer now with two hands.

"Wait!!! I literally did nothing to you guys!!! I just appeared here by coincidence!!! I am definitely human!!!!" I raised my hands as if doing a 'stop' motion.

"Is it because I am..." I stammered as I noticed that my hands barely looked like hands at all. The static square basically surrounded my whole body making me look like a bug in a video game.

Looking at the rest of my body, it was the exact same as my whole body.

"So, this is why I'm considered a monster huh?" I smiled awkwardly while looking at my body.

"You can say in your next life you were killed by the great Barlas" said the shredded lion while his flames started erupting from his body.

"A coward. How pitiful. Truly a waste of a monster." remarked the demon as a pitch-dark spear floated above his head aiming for me.

I looked at all of the surrounding races' soldiers who stared at me with disgust.

'So this is the war that happened before the events of the story... No wonder I couldn't remember it.' I then gazed at all of the commanders who looked at me with indifference in their eyes.

They won't listen to me since I am not worthy of being heard. The strong don't need a justification to listen to the weak.

[Dark Piercer]

[Holy Javelin]

[Earth Stake]

[Engulfing Flame]

[Nature's arrow]

The chants of all the commanders could be heard simultaneously.

The dark spear slammed onto my back making a gaping hole. I stumbled and kneeled on the ground. The javelin came from the opposite direction pierced my front chest. The huge stake pierced my left leg pinning me to the ground. The arrow went right through my stomach followed by the creation of thorny vines that kept me in place. The flame then engulfed my already battered body attempting to turn me to ash.

Blood started flowing from my body at a rapid rate, but I just felt numb. The flames burned but I could do nothing. My body was in too much pain that it was in shock. Not a word came out.'

My body looked like I was being sacrificed in the middle of a barren land with my head slightly looking down. A sign of my total defeat.

"This monster's blood flows red it seems." laughed Barlas.

'I just transmigrated here and already I'm dying. It is my creation yet instead of enjoying it, I get killed by some op characters.'

"Seems like overkill to be honest" said the dwarf woman staring at me.

"Forget that Rione. We have something else to do." reminded the high elf.

Willow, seemingly uninterested to what happened, looked towards the demon to continue the war.

The demon did the same.

'How laughable.'

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHA. HOW TRULY LAUGHABLE!!!" I laughed the loudest I could, ignoring the pain I was experiencing, using the remaining life I had.

As I was waiting for my life to wither, a mask appeared in front of me.
