Chapter 2: Work Agreement

Lexa was in the HR manager's room. The room with the dominance of white and brown for various furniture. Lexa could see the nameplate in front of this room before she went inside that said Berto. The middle-aged man who is now sitting in front of her with thick glasses and a chubby belly. Holding documents that Lexa believes are documents about her. Mr. Berto watched her from head to toe. Lexa was uncomfortable being watched like that all the time.

"Excuse me, Sir! Shouldn't we be discussing the employment contract for now?" asked Lexa.

"Ah yes I know. It's just that I remember the last time we met, I asked you to improve your appearance a little. Too innocent and the boss might not like it," said Berto.

"Is my appearance that messy?" Lexa touched her own face and noticed her clothes looked fine.

"Hm, it's not like that. It's just that the boss prefers a woman who can take good care of herself. You know you dress up a little and you seem lacking," said Berto very ambiguously.

"After all why is the boss' opinion so important? Shouldn't I be working in the general affair department?" asked Lexa to make sure.

"Ah, yes it's my fault. Maybe I haven't explained it in more detail. You will indeed work as part of the general assistant in this company and your work area is the 13th floor. That is the floor where our boss and his secretaries work. You will help them there, whether to reproduce documents, deliver letters, and prepare food or drink, whatever they need," said Berto again.

"Ah I see," for some reason Lexa became nervous.

"This is your work contract. You can read it first and you can sign it if you agree," Berto handed her two pieces of paper which she read carefully.

Lexa scrutinized page by page and word by word. Employment contract for the first six months to see its performance. If Lexa gets three warnings within a period of six months, then the company has the right to terminate her. On the other hand, if she showed good performance, she would be able to work there indefinitely. Lexa turned again to the amount of salary she would receive and yes it was a very large amount for a high school graduate like herself. Unknowingly the smile grew and began to fade as hshe read some of the other rules.

She must not divulge anything she sees or hears on the 13th floor anywhere and to anyone. Easy enough because whatever they were doing on the 13th floor had to be something very, very important. Lexa also can't go home until their CEO comes home. It was because she had to make sure everything the man needed was available. In the agreement it is also said that she must obey all orders from the boss. Lexa felt she could get through it so well that she firmly signed the agreement. Berto looked happy and shook hands with Lexa as a form of agreement.

"So Lexa Giovanna Ita. Congratulations for joining our company," said Berto kindly.

Mr. Berto personally escorted Lexa to the 13th floor after she had received all the basic training needed. Lexa could see the numbers changing rapidly in the elevator. Just as her heart beat suddenly accelerated when she realized she was getting closer to the 13th floor. She remembered what Esme had said downstairs earlier. The boss is someone who is very cold and it would be better if she was very kind and obedient. Esme also made sure that she wasn't careless anymore because the boss hated stupid things like that. Makes Lexa ask in her heart, what does this boss really look like?

The elevator door opened. Lexa walked clumsily behind Mr. Berto. The girl could only admire the super luxurious workspace. Marble floors with beige and brown walls as well as some gold-tone decorations. A statue of a wolf head that was also the company's emblem within a golden circle stood firmly in the center of the room. Followed by four tables which are all secretaries of the CEO. Mr. Berto is kind enough to introduce everyone. Nola and Zoya are in charge of handling all company documents before they are handed over to the boss. Jasper and Javier, twin brothers and confidants of the CEO who will always accompany him wherever he goes. Both are also protectors of the CEO from all kinds of interference.

Everyone greeted her very friendly and she tries to be nice to those around her, they were the people she had to help. This time Berto turned to a very large wooden door again with a wolf's head carved on the door leaf. A deep voice gave instructions from inside. Berto glanced at Lexa and pushed open the big door. Again, Lexa was amazed by the thick luxurious feel in the workspace. A wolfskin carpet greeted them at the front. Wooden shelves fill the entire room with a super large window on one side. On the left side there is a sofa set with a round table in the middle. A wooden table with carved wolves was on their right with two chairs across from it. Lexa could see the CEO who was still glued to some documents in front of him. Walked following Berto who moved closer to the table.

"Mr. Vano, I brought someone I want to introduce to you. She is a new employee on the 13th floor," said Berto looking down in greeting, making Lexa bow as well.

This time, the CEO of Vano put down his pen and turned to the two figures in front of him.

"Introduce yourself," said Berto in a super low voice.

"Ah, sorry. I'm Lexa Giovanna Ita. You can call me Lexa. I will work from today here. Please help," said Lexa politely.

This time Lexa could stare at the boss and she couldn't help but be amazed at what she saw. Even with a sitting position, Lexa could see the man had a tall and proportional body. His eyes are sharp with a shape resembling the eyes of a wolf. Jaws are large and firm with fine hair covering them. The skin is a little tan but very clean. The man looks very smart and dignified just from his appearance.

"Okay Lexa. Welcome to our company. It's just, it would be better if you didn't keep staring like that. It's starting to look disgusting!" who would have thought that man had a very evil mouth.

"Ah, I'm sorry, Sir," Lexa automatically lowered her head in shame.
