Chapter 5: Two Sisters
Two minutes later, the girl that ran off returned accompanied by an older girl.
The two girls were around fifteen or sixteen years old. Both of them had blonde hair and green eyes, however, their appearances could not be described as beautiful.
Their faces were slightly sunken, probably due to malnutrition, and their bodies were a bit skinny. Even the clothes they were using had a lot of patches and dirt. The two girls seemed like two beggars.
The older girl frowned as soon as she saw Vlad.
"You are awake. How are you? Do you think you can walk?"
"I think I can."
"Good. Then please leave. You don't need to thank us for saving you."
Vlad was stunned. For an instant, he did not know how to reply.
"Sister! What are you saying!? What if he is injured!?" The younger sister looked at the older sister angrily, however, the older sister was unfazed.
"Think about it, Laura. Judging from his appearance, he must be a noble, but when you found him in the river yesterday, he was naked, unconscious, and smelling of blood. No matter how you look at him, he smells of trouble."
"Even so, we should not be so rude! At the very least, we should let him stay until he recovers!"
"No. What if he is a fugitive? He could end up implicating us."
"T-That is…" The younger sister put on a hesitant expression and looked at Vlad.
Vlad fell silent before sighing.
"You are right, I should leave."
"H-Hey…"
"Thank you for saving me. I will make sure to repay you in the future." Vlad bowed slightly, removed the blanket, and stood up, only to see the younger girl blushing and turning around angrily.
"Pervert!"
The young girl then ran off as though escaping.
Before he could understand the situation, he saw the older sister glaring at him with a scornful expression.
"Scum."
With a dark expression, the older girl left the room too.
Vlad was speechless. Looking down, he remembered that he was naked.
His mind was a mess with everything that happened recently, so he forgot about it for an instant.
Well, that was not important now.
He used mana to check his body, confirming that he was uninjured before sighing in relief.
"I should leave this place."
Vlad knew about his situation. Just like the older girl said, he was trouble.
Even though he was alive, he knew that if the ones that exterminated his family found out about him, they would not hesitate to kill him.
Right now, he was very weak. If he was found out, he would be unable to resist, and the two girls that saved him would die as well.
The best course of action was to leave and find a place to hide.
Just then, Vlad saw his reflection in a piece of glass.
"T-That… That is me?" He was dumbfounded.
Black hair, red eyes, and snow-white skin.
His body was filled with finely developed muscles, the lines of his face were sharp and well-defined, and his height had increased by a few centimeters. His eyes seemed deep like a pond of blood.
He was so handsome that he seemed like a work of art.
'But this is not me!'
Originally, his hair was blonde, and his eyes were blue. Moreover, he was handsome, but not THAT handsome.
For an instant, he wondered if he had reincarnated in a whole new body.
But when he observed carefully, he found obvious traces of his previous features. It was just that they had been greatly beautified.
'I look like a completely different person.'
Vlad was dazed, but soon, he sighed in relief.
'That is good.'
Just now, he had been worried about being recognized by his family enemies, but it seemed that he did not need to worry about that anymore.
Even the people familiar with him would find it hard to associate him with his previous face. At most, they would think that he was a bit similar.
At that moment, his ears caught the sound of footsteps approaching.

The younger sister came and peeked at the room with a small blush on her face.

Vlad smiled softly, making the young girl's blush expand.
"Thank you. By the way, I have not asked your name."
"I-It's Laura, and my sister is called Adora. S-Sorry about before. She is not a bad person."
"I know. My name is Vlad. Thank you for saving my life, Laura. Unfortunately, I can't repay my debt right now. But I promise you to repay it soon."
"Y-You don't need to, Vlad. I-I did not save you expecting a reward."
"I know." Vlad chuckled and received the clothes. Only then did he observe the little girl carefully.
She was around 1.65 meters tall. Her age should be around fourteen or fifteen, one or two years younger than him.
She had blonde hair that reached her shoulders together with lively blue eyes. However, she could not be considered beautiful.
Her face was a bit skinny and dirty, and her hair was pale and slightly messy. Plus, her clothes made her look like a beggar.
But strangely, Vlad found himself slightly attracted to her.
'… She smells delicious.'
Vlad's gaze made the little girl squirm in embarrassment. She grabbed the hem of her dress and ran off like a scared kitten.
"H-Hurry up and change your clothes. A-Also, sister wants to tell you something!"
Vlad shook his head with a small smile and put on the clothes that the girl gave him.
It was an old coat plus oversized pants that were at least one size bigger than him. The clothes seemed uncomfortable to use, but he would have to do with them for now.
Even if he ended up looking like a beggar, a very handsome beggar, it was better than being naked.
While he was putting on the clothes, he thought about the little girl again.
'… Delicious, huh. Is it a side-effect of being a vampire? It looks like I have to be careful about it.'
Fortunately, he did not seem to have an irresistible thirst for blood, but Vlad did not dare to lower his guard.
He knew from the memories of his previous life that vampires sometimes became bloodcrazed, turning into bloodthirsty monsters that only cared about consuming blood.
He did not want to become like that.
When Vlad finished putting on his clothes, he left the room and followed his senses toward the two girls' location.
He noticed that his senses were incredibly sharp after waking up. His sight, smell, and hearing were several times sharper than before. He could even hear the voices of the people outside clearly.
He remembered that one of the effects of the skill [Progenitor Blood] was enhanced senses. He now had an idea about what it meant.
'Unbelievable.'
Right now, Vlad barely had any mana in his body. According to the system he was at Level 1, and following this world's strength ranks, he was just a mortal.

At that moment, Vlad's ears caught a commotion coming from the location of the girls.
Furrowing his brows, he accelerated his pace.
When he arrived at the living room, he saw three mean-looking men confronting the older sister and the younger sister hiding behind her with greedy and lustful gazes.
"Then Adora, do you have the money or not?" The man in the lead asked.
Adora gritted her teeth with an expression of rage.
Seeing that, Vlad frowned before sighing.
It seemed like he met a troublesome situation.
