Chapter 27: Chapter 26 Birthday (5)
Midday, the tribe leader, females, and the beastmen are at the end of the south of their tribe. Lingling, Shen Si's daughter's birthday is going well. Shen Si looks so happy to see that the tribe chooses her daughter's birthday instead of Hu'er's. The place and food are just standard for a female's second birthday.
This is the second important day for a female. The first one is being born, the second is celebrating that the female survived the two winter challenges, the third will be the start of the heat, the fourth is the first time mating, the fifth is the first time giving birth, and lastly surviving for sixty whole seasons or the age of sixty.
Shen Si is happily going around the party. Proudly presenting her sickly child that her mate's holding. The one who is holding Lingling is her biological daddy. He looks so worried. He is one of the physicians who mated with Shen Si. He knows well that his daughter will survive without the blessings. He is her biological Daddy. He could feel that Lingling's life is supported by the tree's blessings. But the blessing will fade once a female can't absorb it anymore. He and his brother, the other physician, have been trying their hardest to make Lingling healthy. Sometimes they have forbidden thoughts. And it was to live their own life with Lingling. They wouldn't and couldn't betray Shen Si or do anything bad to her. They just want to make sure their daughter could leave at least until she got her mate.
Shen Si never loved Lingling, never loved her cubs. She never loved her mates. She only loves herself and her obsession. Yet they still love her and also couldn't blame her. It was because Shen Si's mom had brainwashed her that all the physicians will be her mate. And when her mom died, she made her promise to mate with as many physicians as she could get. She still couldn't believe that after her mother died Shu Lin actually accepted all the physicians at the same time. Shen Si didn't know why and how it happened. But the two physicians knew. The physicians are already mates of Shu Lin but because Shen Si's mom is the first female Elder they couldn't make a move.
Shen Si's mate snapped out when he heard his mate's frustration. "Where are you all going? The party isn't finished yet." Shen Si looks at the beastmen and females who politely told them they need to go.
They all looked awkward and didn't know what to say. Fortunately, the tribe leader came. "Shen Si, we hope that Lingling will grow healthy. Enjoy Lingling's day. The time is arriving, we need to go. Have a great day."
"What do you mean? Where are you going? Females' birthdays will end only when the day ends. Lingling's birthday isn't done yet." Shen Si felt everything was not going in the way she wanted. She has the urge to yell at them.
"Yes. That's right. There are still some attendees who will remain here to celebrate Lingling's birthday. Most of the Elders are going to stay too. Don't worry. The sun is nearly setting." The tribe leader looks at Gu Ping, the physician who is holding Lingling. "Go and let the little female rest. We don't want her to get exhausted."
Gu Ping nodded and didn't look at Shen Si. He went into the house and some of Shen Si's mates also went in to help Gu Ping take care of Lingling.
"You—." Shen Si pointed at Gu Ping.
"Don't stop him. If he didn't go inside, I would have to ask the others to drag him in. Shen Si, I will give you a warning. Don't risk the health of Lingling. If I ever heard that something happened to Lingling because of you. As a tribe leader, I will punish you according to the rules." The tribe leader went off. The other beastmen who wanted to go didn't dare to stay anymore and follow the tribe leader.
The Elders and some beastmen stayed as they were tasked to do so. There are those beastmen and females who also stayed because they are neighbors and the only physician that is near them is the two mates of Shen Si.
However, Shen Si didn't even try to care anymore. She angrily went home. Her mates didn't follow her. They still need to apologize to their attendees and entertain them.
The tribe leader went to his mate first to help her. She wanted to attend on Hu'er's birthday. The beastmen and females who followed him didn't dare to go there first and waited for them.
Old mom is scolding the tribe leader for fetching her late. The little female, Lingling, who is at the end of the south was born at Midday while Hu'er was born at sunset. They start celebrating their birthday when it's the right season, day, and time. The walk from end to end took them quite a lot of time even though they already rushed to go from Lingling's party to the tribe leader's house. They just couldn't rush anymore as Old mom is too old now. They arrive at Hu'er's party when the sun has already set.
"Tribe leader, Old mom, you are just in time," Min He greeted them. The other daddies greeted the other attendees and brought them to their tables.
"Welcome to Hu'er's second birthday." It was just in time that the lights on the trees opened.
The party looks so beautiful. There were small tables and fur blankets where they could sit. The small tables have two big bowls that are covered. On the right side, there are heaps of things, those are where the gifts are. In front of their house, they have a big table that has so many small baskets with food inside.
There are a lot of females and beastmen already. They are patiently sitting. No one touched the two bowls on the tables either. They were told not to until it was time to start the party.
"May I have everyone's attention?" All look at Jiu Hu who just came out of the house. "I hope you didn't wait for too long. I present you, our daughter, Jiuweihu." Jiu Hu looks at the door waiting for her daughter to step up.
Gasps can be heard all around. A little girl standing, wearing a beautiful orange dress that flows down to the floor. Her hair is braided and flowers are pinned and scattered on her head. The eyes have a black line that made her look so foxy. Her lips look so dewy and plump. She looks fantastic. Hu'er is only two yet she could make you take your eyes on her and never want to take them off. Those lights made it even more dreamy.
Hu'er smiles and walks towards her Dada to hold his hands. She looks up and happily smiles at him. Jiu Hu chuckled before looking at the crowd. "The party has just begun."
